This specific location is seriously over selling their memberships/capacity, good luck finding space to do anything. I've tried 4-5am, 6-7am, 8-9am, 9-10am and even as late as 7-11pm with the same results...there just is not enough space in this gym for the amount of people. Strange hours even after they were updated. I try to use this location when I'm traveling but it's honestly a nightmare even trying to get anything done in this place. read more

I am very disappointed with my experience at this Planet Fitness location. Cleanliness has consistently been an issue, and the overall environment has not met basic expectations. Additionally, I have encountered rude behavior from staff members, particularly when waiting to use the massage beds. On more than one occasion, my place in line was given away without explanation. I previously submitted an online complaint and was told that a manager would contact me, but no one ever followed up. Communication has been extremely inconsistent. When I called to ask how to cancel my membership, I was told I had to come in person. Later, another staff member informed me that cancellation could be done online, which caused unnecessary confusion. After canceling my membership, I was still charged the annual fee. When I called to address this, I was told that I "should have canceled sooner," despite the misleading and conflicting information I had received from staff. Overall, the lack of cleanliness, poor customer service, and inconsistent communication made this a very frustrating experience. I expected better professionalism and accountability. read more

Clean gym with all the essentials. And they keep it well maintained. Unfortunately, it's unreliable for early morning goers. About 20 per of us sitting in cars or standing at the door waiting for staff to arrive. it's 25 minutes after opening time. this has happened before. no staff redundancies in place. At $10 a month Planet Fitness attracts a lot of casual goers. A lot of kids playing on their phones, old people who fall asleep on machines. People who seems to just wander around. In Redding's case the gym attracts a lot of cigarette and weed smokers. Why on God's green earth would you smoke then go to a gym is beyond me. You want to get healthy? Put the Marlboro's down first. The gym suffers from overcrowding, but again at $10 a month it's to be expected. The staff is very friendly, and they maintain a clean interior. If you need a starter gym this is a good choice. I had gotten a gym membership 8 months ago and had a good experience here. i canceled my membership at the Redding Gym. I have since moved to S. Carolina and 3 months later they are still billing me and told me that I never canceled. No refund, they told me I have to come into the club to cancel. read more

I've been going here for 4 years. The previous management was so good at maintaining this place. The night staff is absolutely terrible. They are always just standing around, everything is always completely filthy, I've never ever seen the night staff clean anything. Management might want to get it together! Hello!? Also, transients just come in and use showers and leave. Doesn't make a local feel very safe when transients are just floating through this place. They aren't here to workout so WHY are we letting people just float through for shower use? The monthly commitments must be getting really low.... This use to be the best gym in town, it's becoming the most disgusting one. And I cannot even begin to talk about the level of creeper harassment that I personally deal with on a daily basis. Would be a great place to workout if the people who worked there did their jobs. Recent visit saw the group standing around while patrons blatantly ignored the COVID rules. It was disgusting. I transferred here from the Pittsburg location. This one is bigger. More everything. I think Pittsburg is nice and clean as well as Redding, policy? I wish they were 24/7! This is the one thing I miss about Pittsburg location. I'd feel more comfortable using this one at night. However, I have a full membership so I can visit Pittsburg or any location while travelling. It's a win. Well now that I've been going here a few months, I understand the others reviews. The staff can be pretty busy talking to each other and making you feel like your bothering them. If your like good costumer service and have questions, find a different gym. Pittsburg staff planet Fitness set me up by showing me all the equipment. They even asked if they could be of any help or if I had questions. These children working here are a bit self involved. read more

Super affordable gym with really chill and cool people. I feel so comfortable working out here. I love the hours they operated at. I would highly recommend a membership here. Especially the black card. It's only 12 dollars more but you get WAY more perks. If you use the hydro massage just twice in one month it basically pays for itself. read more

Friendly staff. Clean facilities. Well maintained machines. Always busy but never crowded. I'm grateful and happy this place exists and that it's affordable. I can't even begin to tell you how great it feels to get a good workout in, tan, use the red light therapy bed, go lay down for a hydro massage, then get a chair massage and a nice, warm clean shower. Not one single patron other than myself were cleaning the equipment after using it. None of the staff were paying attention or seeming to care. I have just returned from 2 weeks at the Paso Robles gym where everyone was being considerate and cleaning their equipment used right away. I've been a planet fitness member for months, I work late night shifts so I've been going several times a week at 3 am for several months. Last night, I got off work, drank my pre-workout and drove to the gym only to find out that they changed their hours from 24hrs to 7am-7pm. It's fine if you want to change your hours, but maybe send out a news letter or email to your members so we know. It's not good to drink a pre-workout and not be able to work out, so yeah I was pissed. read more

The gym was closed for most of covid times and I wasn't able to transfer my account to my new location. Standing at my new location today for 45 minutes, the woman on the phone pushed the buck to customer service or the "other" gym I had been transferred to. She offered for me to talk to her manager and then never put them on the phone. Her suggestions were for me to figure out who my home gym was through the app (which I've only since downloaded during Covid) or track down through customer service and my bank to figure out which location charged my membership fee a couple months ago. I'm disappointed in the customer service, communication or lack there of I have experienced the last several months. read more

I've never been to such a large fitness facility with so little equipment. Dozens of cardio machines, but almost no free weights. Only 3 free weight benches for everyone in the gym to share. Whole sections of the gym are dedicated to variations of ab machines (there might be 12 machines to work abs). The place looks great and the restrooms & showers are top notch.
