This gym seems to attract genuine people with a supportive culture. The instruction was amazing and pushed my inversions to a new level to where I can now do headstands! This is a section of yoga I have found is rarely explored and practiced, so I really appreciate the focus on inversions.

I originally started coming in the evenings around 9-10 PM, but when that stopped working with my schedule, I switched to the early morning around 5-6 AM when they first open, and I actually like it so much better! Starting my day at the gym just seems to set me up for a better day. One of my favorite things about going that early is that you see a lot of the same people every morning, so it's become its own little community. Joe takes care of the morning shift, and I love him! He always says hi, we've developed a great rapport, and I've gotten to know some of the regular guys who work out in the mornings too. Everyone pretty much comes in, does their thing, and gets out, but the vibe is friendly and comfortable. As far as the gym itself, it's pretty simple. You're not going to find a ton of crazy equipment, but I mostly use free weights and do my own workouts anyway, so I don't feel like I'm missing much. Every now and then a bench I want is taken, but it's pretty rare that I can't use what I need. It's only $19 a month, although you do have to commit for 10 months. Funny enough, I think I used it for the first month and then barely went for most of that commitment. I actually considered canceling, but I ended up keeping the membership, and I'm really glad I did because now I use it consistently. I also have a YMCA membership, so I like having the option of using the YMCA when I'm in Redlands and Powerhouse when I'm in Yucaipa. Overall, I definitely recommend Powerhouse if you're looking for a local gym that's simple, easy, affordable, and has a cool, laid-back vibe. The little early-morning community has definitely become my favorite part.

The red light therapy is broken and makes a loud noise. They have rowers that are rusty , sticky, and have spiderwebs; they're disgusting, and half don't work right. They have 5 skis; they're all broken, but one bike is outdated, rusty, dirty, dusty, broken, and makes loud squeaky noises. They have a limited number of barbells that actually spin. They have never been cleaned or maintained properly; ALL the equipment is outdated, old, dirty, rusty, and broken. The gym always looks dirty; that's why it's crawling with rodents and bugs and insects. The showers are so disgusting and scary that you can catch a foot infection. The towels they provide are always smelly and dirty and stained in an unsanitary way. Bathrooms are always dirty and dusty, filled with spiderwebs. No soap to wash your hands, no toilet seat covers. Toilet bowls are always stained with fecal matter, hazardous and disgusting. They do not have a professional cleaning crew to sanitize the gym. The people seem friendly at first but will talk behind your back. They have cliques/mom groups in the morning at 9am or sometimes 10am. They are bullies; they will make you feel awkward and uncomfortable. It's so bad that the owners are afraid to address the situation, and they hide from conflict. The morning classes are run by Marine, and she is NOT even a certified trainer. It is dangerous to others and to herself. Her son Toni is another uncertified trainer that teaches class; he is rude and unprofessional and likes to moan and grunt when working out, making you feel uncomfortable. I know people that have taken his class and have gotten injured because they weren't properly taught the technique. This gym is NOT A SAFE ZONE It is stressful and chaotic environment
