We went here a few years ago to purchase our current Honda. We decided we needed a bigger car and knew what we wanted in mind and went with our research for the MSP and compared to their MSRP. We talked to Todd, Tom & Mike and while they were nice and all they didn't try too hard to get us the car we wanted. Between going a week ago to today we weren't told the car had been sold and they didn't have the color we wanted. We were told they could take 3k off the price and going back today it was nothing but walls and road blocks we were hitting. They refused to keep their word on price. We had our down payment ready & credit is A1. Their customer service isn't the best & professionalism is not their strong suit. I wouldn't recommend going to Gerald's. It's kind of silly to go in and speak to 4 different sales people and a "general manager" that never comes out to greet you but will send their middle guy out 4 times with the same price saying "my boss said he can't do that price." read more

I am writing this review from the parking lot of Planet Honda so you can understand my frustration of my experience. I have a 2011 Honda Accord coupe that takes a specialty tire. I caught a nail in my tire and it had to be replaced. Fine, $200 for a single new tire, however they don't stock this tire so it has to be ordered. Which means that I'm without my vehicle over the weekend until next week. I was told (and I'm sure they sell ALL potential customers) the fact that for any reason you are inconvenienced where they have to keep your vehicle, you would be offered a loaner car comparable to your purchase. Expecially when you buy the extra protections or such. Long story short that is NOT the case according to Steve in the service department. Yes I was given a "loaner" car that was a bottom basic car that has NO similarities to the vehicle that I am paying for! First of all, I'm not happy that I'm stuck with a vehicle is a complete and total downgrade, but to make things WORSE, they give me a vehicle that is FILTHY! There were candy and potato chip wrappers all over the car along with crumbs and other things I couldn't even identify. I have pictures. I'm inconvenienced in multiple ways due to the fact I don't live close to the dealer, plus the tank is almost empty. Way to treat a customer who has a choice to take my business elsewhere. In a nutshell, I was given a dirty car with no gas. I shouldn't have to drive all the way BACK TO THE DEALER which is so far away JUST to complain until they decide to clean the vehicle. That should be common customer courtesy!! So I learned a lot about my dealer today. Once you buy a car and drive off the lot, the "king customer" treatment is null and void once they get your money. Everything they sold you on as far as perks DO NOT EXIST. To quote Steve "we don't HAVE to do that". Fine. So I'm letting POTENTIAL customers know the TRUTH as it's been told to me so they are aware. BEFORE writing this review I gave planet Honda EVERY OPPORTUNITY to resolve this situation whereas I FIRST voiced my dissatisfaction to Steve. He told me to talk to a SALES manager, in which I talked to some guy named "MOÑEE" and some other lady. Though the both "seemed" concerned, they both eventually blew off the opportunity to address my concerns. The lady even went so far to insult my intelligence by "offering me restaurant coupons" for my inconvenience. Well she left and NEVER returned. Go figure... No one can say they were unaware of my dissatisfaction PRIOR to this review. I let them know that if I was to write a review on my experience, being honest about it would not be a positive one. However it is my HONEST experience and they dropped the ball. AS A CUSTOMER, I have a choice to take my business elsewhere and for now on I will do so based on this experience. But true to their word, the service techs sent my receipt and paperwork the in the mail so I would have copies for my records. Now that is attention to details. Do not waste your money or your time! I was yelled at and treated with outright disrespect. John Desmet is in the finance department and he lies and tricks people to falsify contracts. They ignored by phone calls and lied when I came in person to get my issues addressed. They added services I specifically refused to my contract. Like most dealerships they prey on those that are less educated in the car business. Contact Illinois Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint. Do not let them get away with being unprofessional and falsifying documentation. They intentionally made me wait hours to speak with the GM about my complaint. I purchased my 2017 accord ex-l here, the price is good honestly.My sales man Ramlawi is a good guy and tried make everything simple. He deserve 5 stars. But I don't recommend anyone to make business with this dealer! It's terrible experience to make business with them, everything seems like smooth at first time, but when time goes, they will fuck your life. After purchased the car, I have to come to their site 4 times for different mistakes they made.. And had more than 10 emails and 5 calls for fixing the mistakes they made. The finance manage Ashraf Ali screwed everything and I am exhausted by his bothering: 1 He forgot give my vehicle registration ID at first time, so I can't make a city sticker for my car. And have to ask him to send it to me. 2 I applied Financing service at the day I purchased my car. 1 weeks later, he asked me for providing a offer letter from my employer to him, then I did. 1 more weeks later, he told me my request is refused.I can't get the finance package from them. And I have to pay the rest payment in 3 days.WTF? 3 Then I went back and paid all rest payment in cash, double checked 3 times if I am all set. His answer is Yes, Yes,Yes. But 2 days later, he asked my sales man called me one more time, and told me I need to come to sign some paperwork.WTF? 4 Before I purchased my car, I also tried trade in my old car there, which Carmax provide $4500 for purchasing. Planet Honda offer me $4250, and I agreed. But at the next day, they called me and say they thought my car only value $2600, and they deny to complete the trade. If you are looking to get a good deal on a vehicle or a good deal on a trade in, this is NOT the place to go. We drove 3 hours to Planet Honda to purchase a used VW Jetta and trade in a BMW M3 Series. Kelley Blue Book has that BMW in fair condition valued anywhere from $9,500 to $11,500. However, they initially offered us $5,000 for it. We were frankly insulted by how incredibly low their offer was and we showed them KBB report that we printed off. The manager came an spoke with us and said the best he could give us was $7,500. So we left. And we are so happy we did. We went to the Volkswagen Autobarn in Countryside, IL (https://www.vwofchicagoland.com) where they gave us $10,000 for our BMW. They gave us a VW Jetta Se that was the same year as the one on Planet Honda but it had better mileage, was kept in better condition, and had better warranty included. Yet the car was still CHEAPER than Planet Honda's Jetta! I was told by Jessica, who works in sales at Planet Honda, that they are one of the best places to get the most value on your trade in. Well that is obviously a LIE. And we fell for it because we drove 3 hours thinking we would get a good deal. Fortunately the VW Autobarn is only 30 minutes away from Matteson. So I'd recommend giving your hard earned money to a dealership that isn't trying to rip you off. read more

The general manager Vasko Georgieski was extremely rude and did not allow an interest rate lower than 8% due to him "losing money" on the vehicle. Told me he didn't care what the banks said and said he did not want to bring down my interest rate because he did not want to! I was extremely upset since it was my sisters first car for her sweet 16. Been coming here to get my maintenance done for over 3 years. Everyone here just wants to rip you off. The first car sticker price was $24000 and Monet originally agreed to $22,800. That was a deal, but he increased price to $24000 after I was worn out sitting there for four hours and didnt realize first price had changed. You will never convince me I got a deal other than a raw deal. Won't give you a fair trade for your car!!!!they offered me only 4000 carmax was 7,000 wanted to buy a Honda Ridgeline 2017 was trading my Honda Ridgeline in 2012 was going to put down 20,000 if I could have gotten a fair trade, plus there were two different prices on the car. The internet price was 26,400 but the dealership price was 29,900 that was a bad sign and felling I had coming in the door. Stay in there way too long , a couple of other customers were complaining as well . It took an hour and a half for an Appraisal carmax only 30 mins. What is the point of having an appointment?!? I made the appointment from Wednesday for a 1:30 appointment today. I get here and wait and wait...At 3:00 I check the status of my car because I have been here before my car was ready and no one ever came to get me AND they had to find the keys. The service lady checked on it and said,"They found my car and it is going in to be serviced now. The guy is fairly quick so give it 30 minutes." Where was my car that it needed to be found!?!? So, now it's been beyond that 30 minutes, a total wait time of 2 and a half hours and no word on my car. Not to mention I'm here for a recalled part on my car. I would think because of THAT inconvenience in itself, they would honor my appointment. It's now 4:00pm I had to check in the status of my car. Really?!??? It's now going through a "bath." They gave me my wet car back and I noticed green paint on the door. They took it in the back and buffed it off with some "compound." Finally got my car at 4:30. Unbelievably horrible experience. Update: I had followed this yelp review with a letter to corporate office, didn't think I would hear back. I did! They offered an apology and a gift card for future services. For the last 2 car purchases, I tried to give the business to Community Honda in Orland Park.. no matter how close you come to an agreeable price. It never makes the sale. For every purchase, I will shop around and Planet Honda has consistently come through with the same product, year, make, style and options, for less on the final cost. I'm coming out of my almost four-year Yelp hiatus to write this review. Unless you want to do business with a company that neglects to inform you about something as important as TWO DIFFERENT AUTO LOANS UNDER YOUR NAME, then avoid Planet Honda at all costs. It doesn't matter if you plan to finance with them (I didn't) - they operate under unscrupulous business practices and clearly don't care about putting their customers in financial jeopardy. It takes a lot for me to write a review this scathing. I consider myself to be a reasonable customer; I received my Masters Degree in Business and can understand the perspective of someone trying to run a company. Yet, I could not in good conscience allow fellow Yelpers and other unassuming consumers to continue to believe that Planet Honda deserves three stars. ------------- 1) My initial experience with Planet Honda was positive. It seemed like a nicely maintained dealership. Kevin in Sales and Mike in Finance were not pushy at all and I believed that we came to a fair agreement on a car. Had my experience ended on that note, I would've been happy to grant Planet Honda a five star review. 2) When I purchased the car, I signed a financing agreement with Planet Honda but Mike assured me that if I found a better rate and wanted to finance elsewhere (e.g. my personal bank), that it wouldn't be an issue. I would simply need to have the other institution write a check for Planet Honda and assume the loan responsibilities with the bank. I asked how soon I would need to get the check to them; he recommended before the end of the month (i.e., a week) to avoid complications. 3) I went ahead and financed with my personal bank because they offered me a better rate. I ensured that the check was sent to Planet Honda within Mike's recommended timeframe. I received a voicemail from Mike the day the check was received (Monday), confirming that the dealership received it but that there was one other thing I needed to do. 4) I returned Mike's call everyday since Monday and left a voicemail for him each time. I even suggested that he leave a voicemail or email for me if that was easier. I never received a response. 5) Finally, I called my banker to see if he knew anything about the situation. By some fluke, he was able to reach Mike, who informed my banker that I would need to call Planet Honda's bank to cancel my loan. Fine. Not sure why Mike couldn't simply relay that message to me after attempting to contact him for three days straight. Had my banker not been able to reach Mike, I still would have no idea up to this day that this was my current situation and the action step I needed to take. 6) I called the dealership's bank to attempt to cancel the loan. They informed me that since Planet Honda had now been paid twice - once from my bank and once from Planet Honda's bank - that they would need to be the ones to cancel the loan and pay off the amount. 7) I attempted to call Planet Honda several times after that. I even left a voicemail for Kevin (the salesperson who sold me the car) to try to get an answer. Finally, I called Planet Honda's operator and explained that I needed to speak to a human being and could no longer be transferred to a voicemail machine. She told me that the best she could do was to let her manager know and that hopefully he would call back. Wait, what? You can't guarantee that your manager will call back an irate customer who has been attempting to talk to somebody - ANYBODY - for a week?? 8) I waited 3.5 hours for a callback from the manager before posting this review. I have now called a total of ten times in the span of five days, mostly while at work and now on a Saturday. If the dealership were closer, I would've visited them a long time ago but they are inconveniently far from where I live. ------------- My life has been put on hold because Planet Honda refuses to acknowledge my existence. This leads me to believe that they are simply ignoring me in order to force me to cancel my personal bank's loan and finance through them instead, which is the exact opposite of what Mike insisted wouldn't be an issue when I first raised the question. It also leads me to believe that Planet Honda is incredibly shady: they've been paid twice for this vehicle I purchased from them and won't take the simple step to resolve all of this by cancelling the loan with their bank. Planet Honda should be ashamed of itself for screwing with people's livelihoods. These are the decisions that everyday people need to stress over and get right because of the long-term implications the outcomes have on their lives. Shortly after purchasing my car from Planet Honda, I already had a friend of mine asking me for car shopping recommendations, as she intends to purchase soon. My parents bought their CVR here about a year ago. After a car accident, they returned to buy another car (V6 Accord) and I went with them on this trip. They dealt with a salesman named John this time and the previous time. My Dad was so impressed with John that he actually wrote a letter to the company. Now, to impress my dad is one thing - but for him to write a letter is another. This guy really knows his stuff and is not the typical BS car salesman. My Dad brought in a quote from another dealership - about $2500 less than the sticker price...and they honored it. All in all it was a pretty painless, quick experience. I bought a Honda from this dealership years ago. I had a good experience with the dealer and loved the car. I went back in 2007 to buy a new Accord. I stood around for 10 minutes and not one person came to help me. I went back in August to give them another chance, this time to look at a CR-V. They sent a young salesman named Mike, seemed new, to help me. We walked around for about 10 to 15 minutes. Mike was personable and able to answer all of my questions. I told him I was about a week away from buying. As I was getting ready to leave, he wanted to give me his card. He asked me to wait while he got it. Mike disappeared. I walked all around the showroom twice looking at vehicles waiting for him to bring his card. I had been walking around for at least 5 minutes and had decided that I was leaving without the card when Mike appears with some woman who he said was more knowledgeable about the CR-Vs and she wanted to talk to me. The woman introduced herself and began asking me questions. I told her I wasn't interested in having another conversation about the vehicle, I had done that with Mike. She was insistent, at which point I told her I was not talking about the CR-V any further. She asked me to wait again for Mike's card. Again, I stood around in the dealer showroom waiting for Mike to return with his card. Imagine my surprise when a third person (this time a guy) comes up to me to give me a business card. I asked him if it was even the card for the salesman I had been talking to. He said yes, but I have no clue if it was or not. I emailed both the person on the business card and the manager of Honda to tell them why they lost my business with all of their switching around. I did not hear one word from them ... no return email ever. I'm so disappointed. Evidently, the customer is not valued there. As I did in 2007 (I ended up going to the Acura dealer immediately from Honda and drove home a TL), I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Ok, This place is full of liars, They will not say "NO". They will keep lying till they get to say you that "YES I WILL BUY THIS CAR". I went to see HONDA PILOT TOURING" here. I talked to salesman for about 3 hrs and took a test ride and we agreed upon on price and made me sign paper saying that I i will buy this car at this price and he comes back saying that "OHH I CANT DO IT, MY MANAGER CANT AFFORD THIS". We talked to about trade in value and I had price for my car 9,300 but when we went there he printed out my car value from kbb website by 2000 dollars. What happen? well this what they did ..They unchecked all boxes for your car option and showed price of "EMPTY BODY" so BUYERS AND TRADERS BEWARE". Honestly, my experience buying a car at Planet Honda was relatively easy and enjoyable. I worked with Diyaa and I found him to be helpful and straightforward. He was efficient and receptive to my questions. He also was really helpful with little things like helping me clean out my old car that was a MESS haha! he car I came to look at was as described and well priced. Luckily for me, my dad has been in the business of selling cars for a long time but he doesn't live close so I had to settle for having him basically on speed dial for the entire process. I had been pre-approved prior to going to the dealership but the approval had expired so I ended up having the dealership run my credit...they initially came back with something like a 7% interest rate meanwhile I had been pre-approved for a 4.9% rate previously (I have very good credit) so I said NO WAY to that...I was 100% willing to walk and then magically I was given essentially the exact interest rate that I had previously been pre-approved for. Little things like that are important to pay attention to...I understand that a lot of people want to think that dealers/salesmen are all swindlers but they also need to make money so I don't get upset over that... but I also won't be taken advantage of (My dad always said "I'm not a salesman, I'm a man that had to sell cars to make a living). To add to that, my interest rate actually dropped to 3.95% when I was looking at warranties as an incentive to purchase one...which just proves they have a lot more control over the interest rate than they will let on because if that rate was simply generated by the bank, they wouldn't have been able to manipulate it. Anyway-- everything from there went smoothly. It's on YOU to do your homework and ensure you know exactly what is happening at each stage of the process. I enjoyed my experience and it wasn't as overwhelming as I anticipated. I loved the finance guy but didn't catch his name! In fact, I sold them my old car during the sale and then the next day I ended up changing my mind about that and went back to re-purchase my OLD car (while keeping my new car, too) which I thought would be a nightmare but was relatively simple and I appreciated their willingness to help me. I've had the car for a week now with no issues so I'll update if something changes but I was happy with my experience here and would recommend someone to go here to buy a car. read more

I wish there were less stars. Service writer "Mike" rude made offensive comments with coworkers about customer not understanding meaning of express service. How would someone know THEIR meaning. All of America knows what service and express mean. He was obviously talking about me since I was the only customer around and we had just spoken. Web site on Saturday posted 15min to 1 hour & 15 min wait was told at LEAST 2 hours wait at 12 noon for simple oil change. Service advisor said I need to make appointment for service. Understandable but why do they have express oil change. Third unpleasant visit to Planet Honda tried sales horrible and service the same won't return. I have found cigarette butts and boxes left in my car, dirty carpets from shoes. And I am not always offered a free car wash. We bought a used certified car. After bringing it home we heard a clicking sound. come to find out it had a bad drive axle. After contacting them right away the sales man spoke with the used car manager and he told us they would not fix it because we bought it as is. That's the answer he got from them. We will not be buying a car from there again not to mention we paid 8500$ cash. The sales man was nice but they would not fix this issue knowing it was there before they sold it. The problem did not happen over night Also the back wiper blade was broken. Being another safety issue that was not taken care of. We only had one day and I called to discuss this with the sales manager and all he said is to bad. Than he said Maybe we can split it the bill that is lol umm how about no you need to fix this. And upon further research I have found that a lot of people have had issues buying used cars from there. I did bring it in the next day for the clicking noise and I was told by a service writer a female she had told me that 80% of the used cars sold come back with major issues some minor and the dealer tells them to bad as they told me. It's a 75$ part plus 1 hour labor and they won't honor that to make me a happy customer how sad. Buyers be aware have it inspected by an outside technician not a Honda tech get a second opinion. So I called them and went in and both times it was a no go. And than a few days later we realized the jack was missing. All of these problems with a CERTIFICATE CERTIFIED CAR how sad. I should be able to trust a major dealer ship to be honest. And also I found out that it had a vibration in the front brakes caused by bad rotors and all they did is re service the rotors the cut them down to stop the vibration. And re used old brake pads. But they did replace the rear pads and rotors that it. I believe all the negative reviews on here from other people. read more

After talking to a salesman for some time, the manager came out to inform me that the quote was for a 2019 Honda Pilot and didn't apply to the car I was dealing on. I left. I called when I got home to ask a manager if they aren't legally bound to honor the quote they sent me for a particular stock #. They said no. When I went to redeem this and called ahead of time, they wouldn't allow me to redeem it. IF I buy Honda again, it wont be at this place. I have to say that we found the vehicle that we wanted, at a price we were comfortable with. And the customer service was good until it was obvious that we were interested in buying the vehicle. Then 'let the games begin'. The information given regarding the certification was dishonest, we feel they were disorganized and lacked professionalism. My sister recommended this place after she purchased her Honda CRV 2011 ,so we decided to give this place a try. I ve had bettter experiences . After running my credit they said I need an approval and had to wait til Monday . Monday came and gone and know word after leaving Jim a message. I actually went to Honda Toyota and on the same day and was approved through capital one . Planet Honda's sales staff attempted to mislead us with false information and failed to beat another local dealers written price as advertised. I refuse to do any business with this dealer and recommend you make your purchase elsewhere!!! No deals or savings to be had here on new vehicles. read more

I purchased my second Honda from Planet Honda and had a great experience! I traded in my 2012 Honda Civic for a 2016 Honda CRV EX and Monet, the sales manager was friendly, helpful and willing to go that extra mile to make me happy. Ken, who handled the financials and paperwork was as equally pleasant and I would definitely recommend doing business with both of these gentleman. After purchasing a vehicle in May of 2017 I had to have it towed at my expense to the dealership within 36 hrs. of purchase. One of the sliding doors wouldn't close completely. They kept the van for a few days and eventually repaired it while loaning me another van. When I picked up my brand new since repaired van I noticed they damaged the panel where the repair took place. They scratched the vinyl panel and left grease smudges on the fabric around the location where the repairs took place. I was beyond upset and they replaced the panel and offered me a free detailing for the 2nd inconvenience. I waited to redeem my "free" detailing upon their request. They recommended waiting until after the winter since it was brand new there was nothing to detail. Last week I finally attempted to redeem the detailing after several failed attempts last winter. Upon arrival to the service department for my scheduled maintenance and detailing. One of the service guys was very condescending and accusatory in his questioning of this promised service to me. I maintained my cool which wasn't easy. He kept questioning me saying something doesn't add up. There wasn't any record of my claims in the computer. There wasn't any record that they ever loaned me a van while my van was repaired. It isn't my job to do their record keeping. Customer service is all about effort it isn't hard. I make plenty of money to pay for my own detailing but I want what was promised to me for my wasted time while they repaired my brand new vehicle twice. He had the nerve to tell me that he'd have to get someone in on a Saturday to wash my car because they don't even offer a detailing service and never have. I repeatedly explained to him that this is what was promised to me I have no reason to just make stuff up. He even told me to my face that my van was filthy. There's just a certain level of professionalism you expect and he didn't even meet half the criteria of a professional. I wouldn't recommend this dealership. I was very disappointed that Planet refused to match a competitor's price, despite confirming they would do so when I called before going to the dealership. On their website, they actually claim that they will BEAT ANY COMPETITORS PRICE by $200. FALSE ADVERTISING! Even more unbelievable, their "revised best price" was just a few hundred dollars below the sticker price... and far above any other dealership that had provided quotes via email. Planet turned out to be a WASTE OF TIME and ultimately we got the price and beautiful car we wanted from a different dealership the next day. After having bought two cars in the past from Planet, we will not be back and won't be recommending this place to anyone. The only redeeming aspect to the experience was that the first-level salesperson we met with did a good job. It's when you get to the next level up and managers when they start going back on their word. read more
