Ask the Community - Plant Based Meals

Is this place still open? Their website is just a single main page, and their Instagram is private, which seems odd for an active business.

The best meal prep I have tried in San Diego and I've seriously tried them all.

Here for work from NJ and bookmarked this place for the plethora of vegetarian options…read more A friend and I were the first ones in and after deciding on a few dishes to try, the friendly staff were more happy to answer questions. Firstly- the portions are huge! Salt and Pepper Tofu - Crispy chunks of tofu and broccoli with lots of flavor. This is a dry dish so the tofu stays crispy all through. Mongolian Crispy "Beef" - Amazing umami flavor. I got halfway through eating top to bottom before I realized the crispy short rice noodles were at the bottom! Advice: Mix it as you get it before eating. As we were finishing what we could of the meal we could smell fresh baked goods. I went to get a box for leftovers from the back counter and saw trays of fresh baked cookies on the counter. Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Raisin, and the one that had my attention- Funfetti with an Oreo in the middle! When I asked if they had any ready up front they insisted I have one of the hot fresh ones out the oven! No pic of the cookie, it didn't make it far! Wish we had places like this near me in NJ.

Also had Pad Thai, large bowl, very eye appealing, good with slightly chewy vegan Chick'n strips. Too many large chunks of onion for my taste as I'm not an onion fan, I prefer mild scallions on mine. My personal preference, if I order again I'd order without. A nice filling lunch, Took 1/2 to go. Good selection of individually packaged vegan sliced desserts in front pastry case ready to go. Fast service easy parking.

Authentic and from the heart. Going into this restaurant is like stepping into a new delicious world. The chef is like Willy Wonka but for Thai food! What makes this place unique is the mix of other Southeast Asian cuisines, especially Laotian food,…read morethat you don't see offered in many other restaurants in San Diego. Since we've never had food from Laos before, we tried the Laos Famous Plate which was a mixture of all of the staples including several kinds of meat jerky, sausage, salad, and rice paper. It did not suit my palate as the papaya salad was very strong on the acidity with some vinegar and fermented vegetables, and the jerky was a little tough to get through. I liked the sausage though, soft and with a unique flavor that is worth the try. The Nam Khao pork had a lot of different flavors and textures mixing together which also makes for a unique dish. I love the peanuts and the lime on the side. The rice is deep fried and crunchy. There is some "cheesey" flavor to it, though there's no cheese. This is a good one for anyone who likes the sides or apps at a Viet or Thai place and wants to mix it up. Finally, we did go basic (or classic) and got a pad thai with shrimp. It's a little on the sweet side, and I do wish there was more shrimp and peanuts given, but the noodles itself is solid and the portion of noodles is good.
