Vegan sushi?! Sooo delicious. It's been years since I've had vegan options but ma'am did it taste like the real thing I love how light and fresh it tasted.Thank

Great value, Great quality. Vegan Mirai is one of my favorite farmers market shops. The quality of their food and service is always so consistently high and very enjoyable even for someone who isn't vegan. This shop is owned by a couple who make and sell vegan sushi rolls for the cost of donations. I love the idea that everyone is invited to pay what they are able to. Because of this, I always make an effort to support them whenever I catch them at a farmers market and I've always been rewarded with delicious food. I've talked to the owner, his partner, and also one of their other employees and they've always been pleasant to interact with. The shop is hosted under a small tent where you can watch the chefs prepare your meal right in front of you and many of their dishes use a blowtorch which is always fun to watch. Go out and support Vegan Mirai at your local San Diego farmers market!!!

Absolutely one of, if not, the best vegan sushi I've had and believe me I've travelled and have had vegan sushi all across the U.S. I was lucky enough to find them at the Hillcrest Farmer's Market. It is a must have if you're in San Diego and looking for vegan sushi. Follow them on IG for location updates.

Cheng has been at the new Rancho Peñasquitos Farmer's Market since it reopened at its new location, and the beauty of his food attracted me to his booth. I'm not vegan and have never been interested in vegan sushi, either, but one bite of his "Baked Skallop" roll and I was SOLD. The smokiness of the flame-seared oyster mushroom on top of the roll was absolutely incredible, and the texture was dead-on for an actual scallop. My daughter absolutely loves the California Roll with hearts of palm instead of imitation crab, and we've now told all our friends that Vegan Mirai's food should be on their must-try list! Cheng is incredibly friendly and his donation-only business model is a refreshing change from the norm. Will continue to keep buying rolls each Thursday!

Chef's Special. Vegan sushi that's phenomenal and based at farmers markets.

Incredible vegan sushi with a unique donation based business model. They have a new fan. Best sushi I've had, hands down. Gluten free, vegan, no mock meats. Found them at La Jolla Farmers Market. Said he's there every Sunday.

Stellar Review for Vegan Mirai If you're searching for a vegan dining experience that is both innovative and mouthwatering, look no further than Vegan Mirai! This spot is a plant-based paradise, blending vibrant flavors with an artistic presentation that leaves you feeling both nourished and inspired. Their Avocado Roll with Shiitake Mushrooms was a true standout. The mushrooms, marinated to perfection, had an incredible smoky flavor that paired beautifully with the creamy avocado. Each bite was like a celebration of umami-packed goodness. Beyond the food, the atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and uplifting. It's clear that Vegan Mirai is passionate about creating not only delicious meals but also a space where people can connect and celebrate cruelty-free living. Whether you're vegan or just curious about plant-based cuisine, Vegan Mirai is a must-visit. Their dedication to quality, flavor, and compassion shines in every dish. I'm already dreaming about my next visit! Highlights: * Exceptional flavors and freshness * Creative menu with bold, unique offerings * Friendly, knowledgeable staff * Perfect for both vegans and non-vegans alike Do yourself a favor--add Vegan Mirai to your list ASAP!

First time trying Vegan Mirai at local Little Italy Farmers Market on a Wednesday and must say it was delish!!! Tried the baked "scallop" roll.

Wow this place was so good and the staff is so kind. As a vegan I'm so happy I found it! The sushi is delicious! I got the skallop one with oyster mushrooms - I don't even like mushrooms but I loved this. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Thanks Vegan Mirai!

I've had catering, breakfast at some markets and lunch/dinner many times from other markets and Vegan Mirai is always so delightful and consistent. The rolls are super creatively made and fresh every time (made to order). We always love the occasional special

The raw vegan renditions of old time favorites are nothing short of delicious mysticism, bringing past and future into a single moment of transformation and pure bliss. This is the future of food luxury, a healing sanctuary to consciously nourish, and Peace Pies is blazing the path. I cannot give enough praise, absolutely legendary and inspirational. Peace Pies is an absolute gem!…read more If you're looking for fresh, completely gluten-free food that actually tastes incredible, Peace Pies delivers on every level. Everything is raw, thoughtfully prepared, and you can truly taste the quality of the ingredients. The chef is hands-down amazing and somehow manages to turn healthy food into works of art. I ordered the buffalo wrap, which came with kale chips on the side. It definitely has a kick to it, but it's balanced by an entire rainbow of vegetables packed into the wrap. Every bite feels nourishing, full of vibrant ingredients that feed your body with different vitamins, minerals, and enzymes. I also ventured out and tried the freeze-dried durian. The texture immediately reminded me of a Lucky Charms marshmallow, although it's much less sweet. The flavor is incredibly difficult to describe--mild and subtle at first, with a fleeting savory note that quickly transforms into something almost tropical, like guava crossed with a nutty vanilla cream. It's unique, delicate, and unlike anything I've tasted before. For dessert, I sampled the Butterfinger and Twix. The Butterfinger filling has a green hue, which might surprise you at first, but don't let that fool you. The chef has somehow recreated the classic Butterfinger flavor in a raw, healthy version. It's not quite as sweet or crunchy as the original, but the flavor and texture are remarkably close and absolutely delicious, this is definitely a must try! The Twix was my personal favorite. The layers of caramel, cookie crunch, and chocolate come together perfectly. The balance of flavors is simply incredible. I've tried several items from Peace Pies over the years, and this place has never disappointed. The menu is creative, fun, and proof that healthy, raw, gluten-free food can be absolutely delicious. Highly recommend! Once in a while the workers are busy working in the back, prepping food and creating recipes- so you may have to get their attention... If they hear you come in, you're greeted immediately with helpful guidance to the menu. I came on prior occasions with my best friend who has many allergies and is of dark melanin- I state this because of a prior ill review regarding preferential treatment based on skin color. That has not been our experience. And I hope that review doesn't deter anyone from trying out this place.

Unfortunately on my morning walk this week, I noticed the restaurant is empty and there's a for lease sign up. To be honest, the food was good but not cravable --I never felt the need to go back. They have a really nice selection of both vegan and non vegan options. Ordered the Garlic Edamame, Karaage Bao Buns, and Crispy Gyoza. Garlic Edamame was delicious! It had that perfect combo of chili and the garlic was just right. And by just right I mean LOTS of garlic. Little side note, they didn't provide another dish to discard the eaten ones and also had to ask for plates which made a bit of a mess when you are sharing a bunch of small plates. Karaage Bao Buns were so good that we wound up ordering another order. If someone had ordered these and not told me they were vegan I would have never know. The texture of the Not chicken was perfect and the rest of the added flavors from the aioli's and garnish were well balanced. Our least favorite was the Crispy Gyoza. The ends were perfect combo but the middle was mush and the texture and flavor was not spectacular. It might have just been the cook but the the ingredients seemed like they were too wet when they were fried. Service was the absolute worst. Had to ask several times for our drinks when tables that were sat well after us all had theirs. I would come back in hopes the service was better but what a let down when we were there to celebrate and were ignored with the servers passing by us and not checking on us.

Most everywhere we went was dog friendly and some of the shops had bowls of water outside for them. We decided to have a late lunch and landed at the Malibu Farm, which was a fabulous choice!! Not only are they dog friendly but they have a fabulous dog menu with several choices of meals for them. They also offer water as soon as we were seated. We chose the chicken & broccoli bowl that also contains rice and shared it between the two pups...not a drop left! I decided on the Malibu Beef Burger which was cooked to perfection and was such a great burger with a tad of mess (which is what makes a burger the best!) They don't offer french fries but roasted potatoes or mashed potatoes so I chose the roasted ones. They were so good and there was also a lightly dressed arugula salad, which was a perfect side! Wife got the Stop Light Trio tacos which comes with three tacos (the green-chicken, raw brussels, cilantro crema, the yellow-butternut and spaghetti squash with a mango habanero salsa, and the red-hanger steak, pickled cabbage, onion, and salsa roja). She loved the yellow one best followed by the red one but I'm all for the green one...it was delicious!). And we had to splurge with a piece of their grilled chocolate cake...yup grilled! We were told that the cake was torched around the sides and it creates a nice toasty edge. So decadent and thick and rich and lots of chocolate! Overall an excellent meal along with some great service! We had a server change during our meal but we were wowed by the service from everyone. Taylor was the server who ended our service. Thank you for a wonderful meal!!!

We ordered their vegetable tempura, pineapple fried rice, and panang curry. Everything came out hot. All was good except the pineapple in their fried rice was spoiled. We brought it to their attention, and they corrected it right away. They explained it was canned so they're not sure how it could've been spoiled. We were unable to eat it. They made us a fresh new hot plate. They also brought us everything we requested like condiments and boxes. The lady was very nice about it. I couldn't hate on the place. It's just sad to see it dead compared to how it was before. The economy is really tough, and too expensive to dine out. The only one-off would be the spoiled food many because the food isn't circulating due to low demand. Anyway, the staff were very nice and polite though.
