Updating my review... The food has definitely leveled up, but the service is seriously lacking. I have to give credit where it's due--the new menu is fantastic! Some of our favorites: -1000 Layer Potatoes (!!) -Bang Bang Broccoli (a classic) -Crispy Rice -Reuben -Crispy Chicken Sandwich (!!) -Kelp Caesar -Japanese Steak (!!) The dishes are creative, flavorful, and well-executed. But unfortunately, the service has been consistently slow on our last few visits. It takes forever to get drinks (even just a soda), water glasses stay empty, and servers don't check in at all. They even skipped someone in our group when taking entrée orders. Was so excited for this spot to open that I dined there three times during my PB stay. Have been to a number of other Planta locations and this one feels a little different. It's much more of a slow business lunch vibe to me (ate here for lunch, dinner, and happy hour on different days). Staff was slow two out of the three trips. Inside was nearly empty usually. The decor is beautiful and stylish. Seating options plentiful from bar to booth to patio. Parking is less fun as you are downtown. Plan to pay to park on the streets or in a garage. This restaurant is entirely vegan. I never have to worry that I'll be slipped some animal product. Yeah! Maki Monday and happy hour are my favorite times to dine here. They have other specials throughout the week too. Food is usually fresh and to temp. Occasionally, salads have been a little warm and sushi (not fish so we're okay) not as cold as I'd like. Prices are high IMO, but this is West Palm Beach and everything is high. They also started a new rewards program for frequent diners. read more

Very unique cuisine, beautiful ambiance and friendly service. Walking in, you're transported to this beautiful lucisous green resort style restaurant. The bar area is whimsical and chic. The staff is friendly. The menu has really unique options. I love that they have Italian, American and Asian inspired dishes. A nice mix of different cuisines to satisfy the vegan palette. I started with the thousand layer potato bites. I've had another variation of this at a Michelin star restaurant that made it more like a phyllo pastry with very thin airy layers. Planta's version is more dense and like a square hash brown. Though the texture was not what I expected but the flavor was good and topped with sour cream and caviar was a good compliment. The crispy rice 'tuna' bites were good. The rice was deep fried on the outside and the beetroot topping was very similar to actual tuna. The General Lee's "Chicken" wraps was beautifully plated and a huge portion. The fried tofu pieces were big and crispy. The sauce was sweet and spicy. The Brussel sprouts were a little uncooked on the inside for my preference but the outside was already charred. Wrapped with the lettuce cups, it was very good. The wok seared 'beef' and broccoli was a bit on the salty side for me but the texture and flavor was amazing. I definitely felt like I was eating beef and it was cooked very well. Love that they used shiitake mushrooms and tofu. The last thing I had was from their specials menu - it was a spy paper wrapped roll with tempura cauliflower, black garlic and topped with lots of micro greens. It was delicious! Highly recommend. The prices are on the higher side but I was impressed with all the plant based dishes. read more

Pretty good for being a vegan restaurant with no meat or fish (despite names on the menu), but felt the food and drinks were way overpriced (would recommend coming for happy hour deals). For dinner I tried the ahi watermelon nigiri, spicy tuna (watermelon) handroll, bao slider (mushroom), bang bang broccoli, and the croquetas (mushroom). All the food had a beautiful presentation, but as a meat lover, just left me missing meat/fish. Own personal preference, no fault of the restaurant. The only item I absolutely LOVED was the mushroom croquetas- they were lightly fried and the creamy mixture inside was so decadent (mushroom bacon, cashew mozzerella, cilantro, and garlic aioli). Highly recommend these!!! For drinks I tried the "Lych Please", "Herb Your Enthusiasm", "Pink Flamingo" and "Mez Cal Me Maybe". All drinks were ok, some better than others, but definitely overpriced at almost $20 each. Our bartender was very friendly and made our experience nice. The food and drink are amazing. Try the Dragon Fruit Margarita at happy hour. The hamburger is home made and it's satisfying without the heavy feeling afterwards. The downside is the staff. Others have mentioned they ignore you. This is true. My friend and I asked for the happy hour burger but unbeknownst to us, we were given the main dining burger which was more expensive. We've enjoyed meals at several other locations and were looking forward to this experience. From the moment we arrived, something was off. The restaurant was nearly empty and no one was staffing the entrance. Eventually someone came and saw us to our table but it took quite a while to get menus, then a long delay for someone to take our order. We changed waiters three or four times and never actually met the person who was identified as being "our" waiter. Plates and utensils for sharing came out haphazardly with different numbers than the size of our group. In short, for an almost empty restaurant, the service was just "weird". All that said, the food was excellent and seemed as good as the other locations. So there is a real disconnect between front of the house and back of the house. Finally, we had a gluten allergy in our party. The first "waiter" didn't seem to know much about allergens and may have given us incorrect information. The third waiter brought us a menu that was already marked up for gluten allergies. Seems like everyone who works there should know that there is a special menu. It would be much appreciated if there were a dedicated gluten free fryer, as many of the most popular dishes would be gluten-free except for the shared oil. For a $600 dinner check for just our party, it seems they could afford an extra fryer. read more

As a regular for years I just wanted to share how disappointed I have consistently been the last few times going to planta west palm beach location. I can't even count on maki Mondays any longer so have just chosen to stop going. I regret buying myself a gift card for planta for Christmas due to how many bad experiences I have consistently had. The only time things got better was when the old manager Mike Cicciarella worked there who I heard down the local vegan Facebook page was unexpectedly fired by planta. Last time I went I switched my shift to go and was very excited as I have not been able to make it up in a while and they failed to make the rolls I order regularly to the actual recipe (the baked crab roll was disgusting and is usually a fav) and for the third time we're out of watermelon and unable to make two rolls the crispy rice and spicy tuna roll. I was in a party of four and we arrived at 7:30 after driving fourty minutes and you have to pay for parking to dine there. We were told by our server we could only order two rolls at a time as the kitchen could not keep up with the customers. It was NOT busy. I have been many times when it is busy and there were at least twenty maybe more open tables, can't imagine how they would function if it was actually busy. Two rolls for four people is insane and not "all you can eat". I used to be able to order two rolls a person and they just kept coming. A few months ago things like this happened regularly and one of the staff members mouthed off to me and my friends that we were breaking vegan diet by going there (which is not true and that person should have been fired). Additionally another experience I had they ran out of rice on maki Monday. I can count on a consistently bad dining experience at this planta location and can't say I will ever return which is a shame as someone who loved to support a local vegan restaurant. They just cannot get it together. Mike reached out in past and offered free meal and started working Mondays so for a while it was better but it seems like without him it is right back to an awful inconsistent unpredictable experience that I am unwilling to spend my time and effort to make the trip from Boca Raton up there and what a shame for such a beautiful location in such a nice plaza. Planta blew me away! I am not a vegetarian or vegan but I have dabbled with both in the past, so I am not stranger to it. The lunch special is $28 and comes with a full appetizer, entree, and a cookie. I got the spicy "tuna" sushi roll. It's made with watermelon ahi and it is out of this world. I never felt like I was missing out on fresh fish. For my main, I got the Italian sandwich. The bread was soft and fresh, the vegetables were seasoned perfectly. The cookie was not great in my opinion but I feel like the price is valued well even without it. I also got the Vietnamese iced coffee which is made with espresso and condensed milk. I went here for late night appetizers + cocktails with a friend and we had a great time. This place is smack dead in the center of Rosemary Square. We sat at the outside bar since it was more lively than inside the restaurant. The customer service was great and our waitresses helped us with recommendations. Our appetizers were the bang bang broccoli which was so crispy and flavorful. We also had the pad Thai slaw which was fresh and a different take on cole slaw. My cocktail was herb your enthusiasm, which had Thai chili infused tequila in it. My drink had a kick to it but it was bearable. First and foremost, what an absolutely beautiful restaurant. Spacious, clean, neat and decorated beautifully with plants. When you step in, it feels very cozy. I went on an afternoon weekday so it wasn't very busy. We got a combo where you can get an app, entree and a cookie. We started with the mushroom croquetas and the bang bang broccoli. The bang bang broccoli is a MUST. It really outshined the croquetas. The sauce served with the croquettes were incredible, as was the flavor of the mushrooms, beautifully fried, but the texture was a bit gummy. As far as the broccoli is concerned, crispy, savory, sweet, I cannot possibly say enough great things about it. I could come here JUST for that. For the entrees we got the Planta burger and spaghettini carbonara. Both were phenomenal. The burger was perfectly spiced and tender with a beautiful bun. We did get truffle fries with it, but I tasted no truffle. Fries were golden and crispy. The spaghettini was my favorite. It did not taste at all like a typical carbonara, but for obvious reasons. It was however, creamy, flavorful, loaded with tender mushrooms and the pasta had a perfect texture. The cookies simply tasted like cookies. Nothing incredibly special about them. Service was fast, friendly and attentive. I will say however, they did keep one of their doors open as they also do outside service and two birds flew it. Not sure if that's common or not. Planning a birthday dinner for a vegetarian when you're a meat an potatos girl seemed like a big task to me...but PLANTA was awesome and made everything so easy...and THIS MEAT EATER LOVED THE FOOD TOO! We recently had dinner for 15 ppl at PLANTA. Making the reservation by calling was easy! They even asked if it was an occasion and when we arrived the table had adorable signs welcoming the birthday girl (pro tip they will print the age on there so if you aren't advertising that don't mention it lol)! The reservation confirmation said they would only do up to 6 separate checks and it would split the bill evenly among the six...so I was prepared to do high level math, but when we arrived I was pleasantly surprised the waiter had no issue with separate checks for as many people that needed them and each to pay his own costs (not split evenly). Also when the checks came there was a QR code to pay online so there was zero waiting while the waiter ran a million cards, or for the pen, and the app calculated tip for you! Ugh what a life saver! Just really ended the meal smoothly! Now the food and drinks! Everything was so lovely and so fresh! I had one of the mezcal cocktails with passionfruit, and the special gnocchi, and the maple custard. Plus the table shared bang bang broccoli, truffle fries, and the crispy rice (all excellent)! The weakest spot was the maple custard which had a nice presentation and texture but the maple flavor was too subtle for my taste. If you have room for dessert the cookie and ice cream is the way to go! They even had a candle for the birthday girl! I also heard people rave about the cheesecake (which is evidently now gluten free). There are also intoxicant free cocktails that are just as lovely as the booze filled ones...really no one gets left out here! There's something for everyone! The location is also nice. Rosemary square is nice and bustling and there is beautiful art and opportunities for gram worthy photos. Just gird your loins for the parking garage which is a nightmare of wandering pedestrians and back in parkers. If you lack patience treat yourself to valet! I was so pleasantly surprised. My watermelon sushi tasted just like sushi. It was delicious. I was disappointed with the cross contaminated gluten free items. Items cooked in the same oil as items with gluten are NOT considered gluten free. A person can have the same allergic reaction if they were to eat a wheat item. Other than that, my visit was lovely. I had high hopes for Planta, but my experience was a disaster. The hostess was incredibly rude, claiming they were "so busy" despite the restaurant being nearly empty. While our waitress was kind and professional, the rest of the staff seemed unmotivated and unprofessional, creating a chaotic vibe. We went for Maki Monday, and though the food tasted fine, three of my family members who ate maki rolls experienced food poisoning symptoms afterward. Visiting West Palm Beach from out of town with our friends who are vegan and a few other friends who aren't vegan, but they tried Planta back in Chicago and thought the food was amazing. For parking we paid meter parking and walked a few minutes to get to the plaza. Our server was very sweet and agreed to seat us at a different table, since there was an issue with one of the tables being shaky. The ambiance was nice and cozy. Our friends said this location wasn't as huge as the one in Chicago. I got a matcha latte and it doesn't really come sweetened too much, but you can ask for more sugar. Everyone really enjoyed the bang bang brocolli for an appetizer (crisp fried brocolli with bang bang sauce). I enjoyed most the dragon roll. Presentation was really nice and I liked the eel sauce they used for the dragon roll. This was probably my favorite thing I had there. We also got the unagi nigiri and my fiance that doesn't like eggplant liked it as well. Portions for the waffle and burger was pretty big. This is an upscale vegan restaurant. It's in a beautiful location at the square in West Palm Beach .They have cozy booths inside and a giant outdoor seating area with a large bar. We opted to eat outside as it was a nice evening. They have a small menu but they do all items well . We started off with a tempura broccoli that was my favorite of the entire meal. Crunchy with a great sauce. We had a spinach artichoke dip that was delicious as well . We had the 2 sushi dishes that use pickled veggies to dupe ahi tuna . They were both excellent . We ordered 2 pizzas. The crust was a little burnt but still tasty . The leek one was outstanding. I had a caviar cream baked potato that was very good. I'm not vegan so it was interesting how all the dishes were so cleverly done . The caviar was some type of kelp and the sour cream was almond cream . They have a nice cocktail list and we had a bunch of them between the four of us . All were tasty and pretty to look at. Our service was good and they worked on a team approach . The only issue with our meal was how long it took the server to bring us our drinks and take our order. But we were kinda hangry, so maybe it wasn't as bad as we perceived it. But anyway, she got their alcohol free macha mojito to which she added rum and I love her. Me? I got the activated charcoal whiskey sour. Delicious drinks. Both of them were fantastic. Dinner we split a lot: a couple of Bao sliders (fantastic and also the least enjoyable part of the meal), a planta burger (fantastic and an incredible homemade patty), and a pizza-I don't remember which one but it was their sweet and spicy one and it was excellent. I mean, there are so few creative, date night acceptable, plant based restaurants out there. This one hits all of the marks. Food was great. Service was mostly okay, food was excellent, drinks were delicious, food was fantastic. This will be a staple for all of our annual trips to west palm. read more

I absolutely love the Planta establishments and the WPB location is no exception. We timed our visit here to coincide with their happy hour so we could get a lot more food on the table! They also do special options each day of the week and we got the $8 rolls on Mondays special. Every dish is yum and you can't really go wrong with the order. We specially love their dragon roll, chicken fried mushrooms. Also love the interiors and this spot is located in a strip mall with a parking garage nearby. While the place totally delivered on the food restrictions, I cannot say the meal was anything to write home about or worth the price we paid. The place felt a little bit like a Seasons 52 when it was still cool (circa 2010) - IYKYK! We tried several different things on the menu, but honestly - not much that stood out so much that I actually want to spend time writing about it. I did enjoy the planta burger that came with a hearty side of truffle fries, but everything else I tried (we kinda ordered tapas style), was kinda meh. A few friends of mine wanted to go and try planta for dinner, I was not super excited, because I really haven't had a great vegan food before, but oh boy, was I wrong. Leaving this here because people need to know. Straight up worst service i've had in a long time. Our waitress Olivia clearly couldn't care less. From the jump it was bad vibes zero effort, borderline annoyed to even be at work. I rarely leave negative reviews, but the service we received was unacceptable. Our waiter had a terrible attitude from the start unfriendly, dismissive, and clearly uninterested in doing their job. We were rushed through our order, and any questions we asked were met with eye-rolls and sighs. It took forever to get basic things like water refills, and when we politely pointed out a mistake with the food, the response was rude and defensive. Dining out should be an enjoyable experience, but this server made it uncomfortable and frustrating. I hope management addresses this, because no one deserves to be treated this way. The texture spot on, the bread wasn't soggy, and the toppings didn't over do and was enough for each bite.
