    Volcano Roll!!
    Monalisa R.

Cute little Thai/Japanese place on Okeechobee, clean inside, sweetest servers. Menu is sizeable. We picked some favorites. When the food came out, it was just pure silence. We inhaled the food, it was that good!! 10 out of 10, highly recommend. A true gem in a large shopping Plaza. Fresh food and the Pad Thai was so saucy!!! They use great ingredients. And the price makes us want to keep coming. Thanks for a perfect dinner out. 2 Ginger Salads - nicely sized, would have loved if this was already dressed Volcano roll - the topping was out of this world Pad Thai - saucy and delicious, large portions

Kathy and I stopped by , while in west palm beach at Thai Heru. We heard a lot of good things about it and sense it was our anniversary of forty one years, We thought it would be a good idea. Well it was, I highly recommend this restaurant. The service was amazing. The food was as well. I started. with a large saki warm, my bride started with a ginger dressing salad. We ordered a crunchy tuna roll, Pat Thai with shrimp. and a ramen bowl. The ramen was delicious. The meat was tender, The broth. although not made in house was quite good. I believe we will visit this restaurant again and I hope you do too.

We usually are very pleased with Thai Haru and get takeout from there frequently. The quality has been consistent, until now... they used LIMA BEANS instead of edamame in my poke bowl! And the quality of the other contents in my bowl were not fresh. I'm honestly shook they thought this was an acceptable swap, or that people can be fooled this easily. Cherry on top, I found a hair on one of the Lima beans. Sadly, we will not return.

We were heading to another Thai/sushi restaurant when I saw online that they were closed on vacation. Found this restaurant using my yelp app. Thank you to my fellow yelpers who have done previous reviews -- as it turned out to be very good. It wasn't hard to find once we entered into the shopping center. There were plenty of parking spaces, as well. We were a bit later than our usual dinner time and they were not busy at all when we first sat down. After a short while, we were surprised to see several other tables fill up, and along with a number of folks doing takeout plus delivery pickups it was quite busy. My husband started with their shrimp tom kha soup. He said it was quite good. Most of the small versions of this soup have only a few shrimp, so he was happy to find four nice sized ones. I also had some soup to start -- their chicken filled won ton soup. The base is more flavorful and not as salty (nor yellow) as the Chinese version. I liked my soup as well. After that he had a salmon sushi roll. I had their chicken satay appetizer -- several skewers of curried grilled white meat chicken along with two dipping sauces. I preferred the peanut based one. I took half of this dish home for later. We'd had a big late lunch, so we weren't that hungry and didn't try much of their menu. But the menu is extensive from your favorite Thai dishes, even ramen, to all sorts of Japanese dishes and sushi. We felt prices were quite reasonable. We definitely will be coming back here to try some other dishes. This one is a keeper.

This was my third time eating at Thai Huru. It's a small place but the food is very fresh. The staff was very nice and everything comes out quickly. The soup on the day seems to be hot and sour soup. I've gotten carry out and dine in and both had good experiences. Would recommend this place if you're looking for Thai food

I've only had sushi from this restaurant, but they've got a large and very decent looking selection of Thai dishes. The sushi has always been decent, including the various rolls and sashimi we've ordered. I've never had anything that didn't seem very fresh. The service has been friendly and attentive enough and the restaurant is very clean. There always seems to be seats available, despite having lots of both dine in traffic in addition to the robust take out business they have.

A lil gem in a large plaza. I've been here many times for dinner and it never disappoints. Good food, service and ambiance. My favorite dish.. Haru Chicken, Thai Iced Tea and Plum Wine. Also delicious: Bangkok Shrimp and Avocado Krab Salad. Highly recommend.

Once inside, however, you are transported. They have a covered outside patio for dining, as well. This would be nice in cooler weather. And the restaurant has convenient parking on either side of the building. They have a special lunch menu with a lot of choices as well as a full menu. We both order one of their lunch specials. I ordered their shrimp pad Thai bento box. It came with soup or salad. I chose the miso soup as I'm not a fan of mixed greens. The soup was okay. In the bento box was a fried vegetable roll, a four piece California roll, the pad Thai, and two orange slices. The California roll was very good. Expertly and tightly rolled. I didn't care for the fried veggie roll. However, the shrimp pad Thai was wonderful. A half dozen large shrimp with rice noodles, bean sprouts, scallions, eggs -- all in a slightly sweet pad Thai sauce. And there was a lot of pad Thai packed into the section of the box. My husband got their sashimi lunch special. There were three types of raw fish -- salmon, tuna, and a white fish. Each fish had three fat slices. The meal came with a mixed greens salad. Along with a California roll, and that fried veggie roll. He liked it, "nice and fresh", he said. Although a bit out of the way for us, we felt the food was worth a drive. On the way out, we even got to meet the owner who told us that their menu is available on line.

OK, so the poke tacos were not that bad but they don't do fried rice very well. I ventured here with some heffa that I don't even talk to anymore. But that's another story. The service was OK, they need to get their reservation system, right. I made reservations, but the heifer got there first. We only got drinks this time and we picked the lychee martini, yamazaki swinger, and the Lua Pele Scorpion Bowl. The vodka and the sake in the lychee martini didn't go to well or it was just a bad mix that day. But I was not a fan of the drink. The yamazaki swinger was very watered down and we barely tasted the whiskey. The Lua Pele Scorpion bowl wasn't much of a show and while the drink did taste good, it was mostly filled with decorations. It's supposed to serve 2-4 people but after we took all the decorations out and poured the drink into a cup, it was barely a full cup. I'll definitely give it a try again as I'm not sure how the food was and maybe it was just an off day for the bartender.

For a split second, I thought maybe the place had been rented out for a private party we weren't invited to. But, trusting the good reviews, we decided to stay and risk it. Worst case? We'd get our food before the menus even hit the table. We started with the curry puffs--crispy, warm, nicely seasoned. Solid little bites, though not exactly the type of appetizer you dream about later like an old high school crush. My salad with peanut dressing followed, but the dressing was more watery than I'd like. Tasty, yes, but I like my peanut dressing to hug the lettuce, not run away from it. And then--boom--the Penang curry chicken arrived and stole the spotlight. This was the real deal. The flavors were rich and balanced, with that "made from scratch" depth you can't fake. I asked for mine spicy and they nailed it--just the right amount of heat to make me sweat a little but still want to keep eating. And, I like it hot! Mission accomplished without losing flavor!! My wife went mild, and hers looked like it had been painted in softer pastels while mine was done in neon flames. Same dish, two totally different personalities. The owner came by to chat, and she was a delight. Turns out they grow their own peppers and make all their curries from scratch. Suddenly, it all made sense--the freshness, the layered flavors, the fact that my taste buds felt like they were on a guided tour of Thailand instead of eating reheated sauce from a jar. So yes, the restaurant was empty when we walked in. But this isn't a ghost town--it's a hidden gem. A 30 years in business hidden gem. Next time, I'm bringing more people along, partly for the company and partly so I don't feel like I accidentally booked a private dining experience.
