    Good vibes outside

My dad was visiting and we had to try something on the bucket list. Malakor is so cute and off the beaten path in west palm. I love the back outside area and can see myself coming here for meals alone whenever. This is a really chill place with kind staff and great food.

We were vacationing and my dad wanted Thai food. My search led us here. The outside looks like a tropical paradise. Inside is fairly small but beautifully decorated. All of the servers were welcoming and friendly (as were some patrons). I've had Thai food all over, and the quality and authenticity here is at the top. We ordered, sumner rolls, Thai Tea (great!), Lad Na, Beef Pad Thai, drunken noodles, and a special duck curry. If I'm in town again, I would definitely return. If you're already in town, you should go soon.

Malakor is STILL killing it with their food. My sister was in town for three weeks in December and said our lunch at Malakor was her best meal, and she ate at a handful of pretty swanky places with her rich, old college buddies, ha ha. She's always liked it and we never skip a December lunch there, but this recent one really was off the charts. We ordered two specials off the board: crispy duck red curry and soft shell crab Panang, with a side order of fried rice. I love that their fried rice is fluffy and not at all greasy. The crab and the duck couldn't possibly have tasted better. The employees are always marvelous as well, and sitting outside makes it that much more enjoyable. Bravo to my favorite Thai, and I'm so very lucky to live nearby Malakor!

My favorite Thai spot located in Northwood, West Palm Beach. Most authentic Thai around and the service is always amazing. Love Malakor Thai Cafe!

I ordered takeout but I'll be back for the sit down experience at Malakor Thai Cafe. The restaurant is located on the trendy Northwood neighborhood. My food was ready when I arrived and that was before my expected wait time. I had some sushi rolls the spider roll and the Malakor special roll everything was delicious and met expectations. I'll definitely worth the trip.

Wonderful. I was wish family, so wasn't able to snap any photos of our food. I had miso soup (hot, aromatic, perfect) and money bags (crisp, fresh, vegetarian). Fiancé enjoyed papaya salad with fried tofu that had the perfect amount of crush. Our aunt had red chicken curry and brown rice. We all loved our food. Service was quick and friendly even very close to closing time. Outdoor seating area is large and decorated with care. They're in the valentine's season, currently. Back at our hotel, we chatted with a guest who also enjoyed the restaurant and even excitedly asked, "did you sit outside?"

Thai food is good! Malabar Thai is amazing! I've had this place bookmarked for awhile and when the opportunity finally came, I'm glad I was able to! Parking is a bit of a challenge as there's only a small lot shared with an adjacent business but you may be able go find street parking as we did. I love that the menu includes creative specials listed on a board outside! While there was outdoor seating available, we opted for inside and really liked the simplicity but intentionality of the decor. I started off with a salad that came with the entree and the ginger dressing was one of the best I've ever tried. We ordered the crab fried rice and I was soo excited to see that they had Chiangmai noodle soup! I can only think of 2 other restaurants in Palm Beach that offer it and this one was one of my top 2! I ordered it with a 3 spice level and it was perfect. The crab fried rice had nice chunks of crab meat and was amazing! Our server was excellent making sure our glasses stayed full and we got refills as soon as we needed. Great service is what solidified the 5 for me! I really enjoyed my dining experience and cannot wait to return for lunch and dinner.

Always a great experience at this spot! Highly suggest making a reservation because it's an intimate spot with limited space. The food is always amazing and never disappoints!!! A definite go to spot when looking for authentic Thai food in West Palm Beach.

Found this place on Yelp and wanted Thai for dinner away from the beachside tourist traps. We really liked the decor here; once you step inside, the atmosphere is very Thailand and relaxing. I especially love the back patio area but it was a bit chilly for us to sit there. The staff here were awesome and I have zero complaints. One suggestion or criticism is that they did not ask us for the heat level for all of our entrees. The food was delicious with superb flavor in all but the spice level was super mild and inconsistent. The Penang Curry had the most spice and I would rate it as super mild. My Pepper Steak had no pepper heat at all, but still had abundant flavor. So if you are not asked about the spice level, you may want to insist on having that conversation when ordering. I would definitely come back here regardless of the spice issue, the flavored were incredible.

Super fast and friendly service! The spring rolls and summer rolls were good. Tried the duck pad cha, pad Thai and another noodle dish. All were absolutely delicious. Would love to come back next time I'm in town!

This has become my new favorite sushi restaurant. However the pho is by far my favorite thing on the menu. I wish I've taken photos of every meal I've gotten here but as a new mommy I just completely forget about photos n focus on my little one not getting to my plate before I can lol. The service is always amazing n very helpful with my babies need. I absolutely love the outside seats minus the mosquitos. This spot is a must try!!

Excellent food and service and nice ambience and fast service earns this place a 5 star.. their salad and fried fish are the best followed by vegetables fried rice .. wish fish portions were larger than what we got.. highly recommend this place if you like Thai cuisine

Malakor Tai is my favorite restaurant in West Palm Beach. The vegetables are fresh and perfectly prepared, and the sauces are exquisite.

Once inside I noticed that the lighting was darker and the interior minimized. We were invited to sit anywhere so we chose a front window booth. The table only had one service setting so we had to borrow another from a neighboring table. We looked over the menus and made our choices from the Lunch Specials. I went with the Chicken Red Curry. My wife ordered a Shrimp dish. We noticed that the only person taking orders and serving would disappear into the kitchen for extended amounts of time. (The only one working?) Our food was finally brought out of the kitchen. My wife's Shrimp dish was absent of Shrimp, but had chicken instead so she sent it back. Meanwhile I ate my Luke warm red curry vegetables and rice with a few drabs of chicken meat. So sad to see the dramatic decline in what once was an A-1 Thai restaurant.

The restaurant has seen better days, it's a bit grim inside with everything showing some wear. We were directed to a booth and given lunch menus. There was one guy taking orders and serving. There was a large party of folks who worked near by seated at a long table and a couple other booths occupied when we came. It took long enough for him to take our order that we were debating whether or not to leave. Chicken vegetable soup comes with the entrees. We were each given hot soup. The vegetables were mainly cabbage and there were a couple pieces of chicken in it. The light broth, however, was good with little bits of fried garlic in it. My husband's chicken red curry was served on a flat plate. It came with white rice. He said it would have been better if it was a hotter temperature. I'd ordered cashew shrimp, but was delivered chicken. I'd corrected him when ordering, so I sent it back. The shrimp were good -- a half a dozen nice sized pieces. The dish also had a lot of cashews. The only downside? The rice was cold. I'm glad we tried them. Now we know.

For a split second, I thought maybe the place had been rented out for a private party we weren't invited to. But, trusting the good reviews, we decided to stay and risk it. Worst case? We'd get our food before the menus even hit the table. We started with the curry puffs--crispy, warm, nicely seasoned. Solid little bites, though not exactly the type of appetizer you dream about later like an old high school crush. My salad with peanut dressing followed, but the dressing was more watery than I'd like. Tasty, yes, but I like my peanut dressing to hug the lettuce, not run away from it. And then--boom--the Penang curry chicken arrived and stole the spotlight. This was the real deal. The flavors were rich and balanced, with that "made from scratch" depth you can't fake. I asked for mine spicy and they nailed it--just the right amount of heat to make me sweat a little but still want to keep eating. And, I like it hot! Mission accomplished without losing flavor!! My wife went mild, and hers looked like it had been painted in softer pastels while mine was done in neon flames. Same dish, two totally different personalities. The owner came by to chat, and she was a delight. Turns out they grow their own peppers and make all their curries from scratch. Suddenly, it all made sense--the freshness, the layered flavors, the fact that my taste buds felt like they were on a guided tour of Thailand instead of eating reheated sauce from a jar. So yes, the restaurant was empty when we walked in. But this isn't a ghost town--it's a hidden gem. A 30 years in business hidden gem. Next time, I'm bringing more people along, partly for the company and partly so I don't feel like I accidentally booked a private dining experience.

It's a small restaurant but very cozy. Amy, the server was very nice. When I arrived there were a few people eating. The one thing I actually found annoying was the man at the table behind me was on his phone speaking loudly the entire time I was there. He finished dinner maybe moments before I did. I would've appreciated had Amy told him you know not to be on the phone like that while people were eating. It was very very disturbing. Another thing I didn't really like was that they didn't give you a salad or something with your dinner. Most Thai restaurants either give you soup or a salad with your dinner. Now onto the food. The food was delicious. I started with the shrimp a blanket and for dinner I had pad siew. I'm probably not spelling it correctly, but it was very tasty. The portion of noodles was quite large. I got the combination version that's supposed to come with shrimp chicken and beef. There were only two shrimp in my dish which I was not happy about. Overall, it was a good experience. Yes it would've been better if I didn't have a loud man screaming into a phone behind me through the whole meal. And yes, I would've probably enjoyed a salad before my dinner. But overall, it was a good experience and I probably would return.
