This was my second time at this amazing Sushi, everything restaurant. I promise that everytime I come to Florida, Kabuki will be on my list of must-go restaurants. It was not very busy when we first arrived and sat at a nice table at the rear of the restaurant in close proximity to the sushi bar. It was a treat coming here during happy hour as most of the items we wanted were part of it. Except for soup and chicken dish, it was a great deal. The drinks also came in at a nice discount. There were three of us and we just kept ordering food: Wonton Soup Steamed and Fried dumplings Rock Shrimp Edamame Spicy Tuna & Salmon Rolls Chicken Katsu Let me spare you the words of going through every item. Everything here is easy to describe. All was incredible fresh and tasty. Nothing was greasy and what ever had to be cooked was perfect. Sauces was flavorful and well portioned. We had some wine whcih was also a generous pour and very good. I have been here before and truly enjoyed evrything here again. My friends took me to Kabuki's because it's one of their favorites that they go to regularly and are always very happy. We ordered the Angry Rock Shrimp appetizer which was extremely fresh and as delicious. Salads with a delicious fresh ginger dressing. Someone ordered the wanton soup which she loved. They both got spicy tuna rolls and loved them. The Shrimp Pad Thai I ordered was delicious and the shrimp was perfectly cooked. I enjoyed it so much. The restaurant is nothing special to look at inside but it the outdoor seating is beautiful. I do recommend this place. We've been coming to Kabuki for many years. Their HH used to be better. They changed their portion since the last time we've been here, It looks like you're getting half the food for half the price which really isn't much of a deal. Kabuki used to served a full roll during happy hour now we got 4-5 small pieces for a single order. The squid ring was half the portion it used to be. A bit disappointing. read more

And the sauce was a really good pairing. I also got the JB tempura which was also good. For drinks, I got the Raspberry with Passion. My friends got the Apple Sake-tini and the Peach Sake Sangria. Kabuki is easily my favorite sushi spot in West Palm. This location is conveniently located on Clematis Street in the heart of downtown close to everything. The prices here are more than fair for the excellent quality of both the food and service. They have a good variety of both Japanese and Thai cuisines on their menu. They have both hot and cold tapas, a ton of sushi rolls to select from as well as signature and chef dishes. Recommendations: Miso soup- on point Ginger salad- the dressing is to die for, so fresh, very authentic Angry rock shrimp- not dry at all and not too spicy, just a kick Any and all specialty sushi rolls- I love the jalapeño with yellow tail fish & the empire roll The aesthetic is a little bland but the quality of the food and service really makes up for it. I've never had to make a reservation to be seated here and never had to wait for a table but during busy season Dec-April you might consider making one. They're on open table. This place was perfect for our party of 16. The prices were INCREDIBLY reasonable and the portions were great. There was something for everyone! I do take off one star because their lychee martini didn't taste like lychee at all, which several of us ordered, so that's a small bummer, and the quality of some of the items does match the price point (which is to be expected!) I ordered Pad Thai with chicken (medium spicy) and asked for steamed chicken on the side. What I received was genuinely disappointing and borderline inedible. The Pad Thai was a complete mess -- soggy, clumped noodles with no balance of flavor. There was no proper tang, no depth, and no freshness. It tasted flat, heavy, and greasy. Medium spicy was nonexistent -- there was zero heat and zero character. The steamed chicken was the worst part. It was pale, rubbery, and had an unpleasant smell and texture. "Steamed" should mean clean, moist, and simple -- this was none of those things. It tasted old and unappetizing, and I couldn't eat more than a bite. For a dish that's a Thai staple, this was shockingly bad. Pad Thai is not complicated -- when it's done right, it's comforting and balanced. This was bland, greasy, and poorly prepared. I don't leave reviews lightly, but this meal was disgusting, and I won't be ordering again. read more

The JB and shrimp tempura came out next and the JB was barely ok (definitely didn't taste the hype) but the shrimp tempura was way worse. Clearly old and cold, tempura wasn't even crispy. Tasted like it came from the fridge. The wrapper from the crab rangoons was crispy deliciousness but the inside needs work according to my taste buds. I went pretty early, right at HH so they had some patrons but it wasn't packed at all so that was nice. I did tell the guy about the shrimp tempura but he basically shrugged it off. I wasn't expecting any credit since I ate half of it but rather FYI, stop serving ppl old stuff. I'd return, see what else on the menu is good. My cousin was taking me around the downtown palm beach area and was wanting sushi. She said Kabuki is a go-to that has many restaurants around town (there's one closer to her home that she likes). She's been to Kabuki many times but this time was pretty bad in her opinion. The tom kha was not hot when given. The soup was super cold, really wish we had a microwave. The service was excellent, everyone loved their food and the ambiance is intimate and not overly loud, which is always nice. The only thing I didn't love was my pad thai. It was good but not the pad Thai I'm used to. However, my 5-year old, who is on the spectrum, loved his tempura chicken fingers and he hates everything. Extremely disappointed with the takeout service. I placed a to-go order by phone on Wednesday, February 11th around 6:00 p.m. and arrived to pick it up around 6:25 p.m. When I got there, I realized my order was incorrect. I had ordered a hand roll but was given a regular maki roll instead. I informed the male host and was told it would take another 15 minutes to remake it. I declined and simply asked for a refund for the incorrect item. The host said he would need to take the roll back, which I agreed to. He then spoke with Ana, who told me I could keep the roll and that she would issue store credit instead. I explained that I did not want store credit and preferred a refund to my original method of payment. Ana responded that she did not want to process another transaction in the system to issue the refund, which is why she was offering store credit. I again stated that I wanted the refund returned to my original form of payment. She eventually agreed to refund my card. However, after initially telling me I could keep the incorrect roll, she decided to take it back once I declined the store credit, which seemed spiteful. The food went back and forth between the kitchen and the host stand multiple times before I finally left. What should have been a simple refund took about 20 minutes. The situation felt unnecessarily complicated and poorly handled. I found Ana's attitude to be rude and unaccommodating. I did not appreciate Ana arguing with me about a refund, given that the order was incorrect. As a customer, I did not appreciate the way the situation was managed or how I was spoken to. Absolutely loved Kabuki! The food was great and it hit all the right notes. I have had my fair share of sushi and I must say Kabuki was amazing. I had the Black Dragon specialty roll and my company had the Red Dragon specialty roll. The service was also great. I can tell it was an extremely busy night for them but our server was still able to deliver great service by being attentive, taking our order, checking up on us, and no mistakes on the food. The ambiance was decent. The interior is more on the simpler side, however, I can tell that the aim to be a no frills sort of sushi place. Although I didn't eat any sushi boat, I came to kabuki during the weekend of West Palm Beach's boat show. Located right on Clematis and right off the waterfront where the boat show was, it's a nice ambience to enjoy my usual, Asian fusion favorites. The interior is nicely dim, and with some sports on the TV while I enjoyed my Mojito. The mojito was nicely blended with a good muddle of fresh berries and mint, as well as a generous pour of rum. Next up were three nicely sized chicken skewers and spicy peanut sauce that I really liked. Besides a side of fried rice, my main was a very nicely sauced teriyaki chicken. The chicken was clean and not excessively greasy and the sauce was really sweet and rich. I could have said no dessert but that means I would have missed their yummy banana tempura ice cream with real bananas and chocolate drizzle. Service was pleasantly functional, with the wait staff attentive to avoid my allergy while serving. I was also checked on once or twice during my meal (including the great dessert recommendation!) To start, I liked Kabuki in the past. I've been a regular goer at least once a month for the last 3 years. Recently I went for an early birthday dinner with a friend. The bill was higher than expected; no big deal. I tell them I'll be using two cards to pay. I go up and pay only for one card to approve and the other to decline. Now I have 0 in both accounts, 91$ down the drain, and a restaurant claiming they didn't take my money when it had to have gone somewhere. The bill was almost 82$ with tip. I had enough to pay. They said they'd call me and get me my money back. I call a couple days later, they tell me the same thing. I go in person to get my money back, still with no success. I'm a college student. 91$ is not chum change. Of all places, I wouldn't expect such shit service from my favorite sushi place, Kabuki Sushi.
