Green spaces are lacking in this area so Stillwater park along with Crespi, and Tatum parks provide much needed recreational resources to the neighborhoods they are in. Stillwater Park is located at the entrance of gated Stillwater Dr. in the Biscayne Beach neighborhood. Stillwater Drive is a single street that is its own neighborhood. Jutting into Biscayne Bay, it is a rectangular peninsula that can be accessed via two streets, 86th Street on the north side and Hawthorne Avenue on the south. This area was once a patch of mangroves that were filled in and developed during the late 1930s by the Biscayne Point Realty Company. Stillwater like much of North Beach exploded after World War II with a boom in population and in housing. A key feature of the park is a playground designed for children ages 5 - 12 with spring riders, a climbing board, zip line, seesaw, toddler and youth swings. Other park amenities include stationary fitness equipment, a lighted basketball court, grassy field for open play, and benches. In 2008 a Miami Beach Police Department Canine Training Facility was added to the park. At the east end of the park stands a covered pavilion which is equipped with water fountains and restrooms. The pavilion can be rented for private events. This park is fenced in for safety. You can find limited parking around the perimeter but it is mainly used by local residents who walk over. Like all of the parks in Miami Beach, Stillwater Park is very clean and well maintained.

Even on busier days it's not packed and easy to run. There is adequate parking, exercise stations at the beginning and picnic tables. I run here often at all times of the day and have never had a problem; but, lighting could be better in the back of the park. There are a few areas (near the canal and the turn near the trees) that are a little dark so I usually avoid them if running at night and stay towards the front of the park.

I find it kind of ironic that they named a park after him with a jogging trail which was the thing that killed him but there you go. Mr. Diaz was a proponent of keeping development in check and fostering a sense of community in Coral Springs. This is a great neighborhood park if you are looking to get exercise. It doesn't have a kids playground like traditional neighborhood parks. Instead it has an outdoor gym area and the one mile aforementioned gravel walking/ jogging path. It folds in on itself as you go around. My favorite part of the path is the part that runs parallel to a canal in the back. I saw turtles, ducks and a egret back there. I had a lovely stroll there on a Saturday afternoon. It's a great place to get the body moving and to clear your mind in the fresh air.

One of the team members, Elise or Eli's was locking up the park and doing his search of the park and stumbled upon my wallet. Not only did I not know realize I left my wallet, but Elise took it into his own hands and searched the Aventura data base and called my house to let me know that I left my wallet. If it wasn't for Elise and the staff, I would never have known and would have been frantically searching the next day. However, Elise called around an hour after I left and made sure I retrieved my wallet. So for that I thank you and the staff! The park has always been home for me and my dog. The staff is an extended family that is always helpful and amazing to our community. Aventura park is one of a kind.

My wife and I actually found this zen compound by accident. We drove to the back of Volunteer Park to grab a book from the Little Free Library but sadly it was temporarily removed for repair. So instead we found Camp Everglades where we played like wild teenagers for a while. No doubt that this will be the hangout for my future grandkids during our babysitting weekends. Just take a peek at the pics and you will agree that it was an amazing place to relax, have lunch under a pavilion or play with your kiddies.

This is a neat and well maintained neighborhood park with no parking or restrooms but It does have benches, an open play area. a picnic tables, shade trees, and a fenced in playground with shade cover. The surrounding neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. There is even a house for sale across the street. This is a convenient place for neighborhood kids to meet and play. For a park with more amenities visit nearby Sherwood Forest Park.

There is no dedicated parking or restrooms. An important point to note is that it is not fenced in, so you have to keep an eye on children to make sure they don't wander off. It ended up being the perfect place to sit for a few minutes while I planned my next destination. If you're looking for a larger park with more recreational amenities, I recommend nearby Brian Piccolo Park. If you're looking for a nature walk, Wolf Lake Park is also close by.

There is a huge open area for play, a sand volley ball court, basketball court, paved exercise path around the perimeter of the course, covered picnic pavilion with grill and a really large shade covered ADA accessible playground. The playground had a number of unique items of play that I haven't seen at other parks. There is also a large climbing structure with several ways to scale up it and slides to take you down. The only drawback is the rather small parking lot but I don't imagine that this park gets very crowded from people outside the neighborhood. This is a well maintained park perfect for picnics, exercise, and taking the kids to play. Davie takes great care with their parks and this is another excellent example of their dedication to providing safe and clean recreation areas in the city.

There are no places to park and two pavilions with metal benches. Most people jog or walk their dogs later in the evening but during the day bicyclist rule the path. I have taken my bike thru the park but its a quick to and from with no frills. I would not suggest roaming through the area at night, although there are a very limited amount of dimly lit tall lamps, its still somewhat secluded and dark. The City of Sunrise recently added a few huge art exhibits along the east side of the park which gave it some needed pizzazz.
