Menu is super well labeled including allergen information for items containing soy, etc. I got the Philly sandwich and the sandwich was overfilled. Was a great amount of food for the price!

    Summer Nachos

Let me open this by saying that plantology Is my first thought when I think about vegan food. I'm new to the area and I'm literally here 2-3 times a week. You can't really go wrong with anything on their menu. I try something different each time and I enjoy it so much!! I have many favorites but I must say that the Summer Nachos are at the top on my list. The serving size is HUGE and you can either be stingy and eat them by yourself lol or choose to share. I don't know about you, but one thing that is a MUST about nachos is that every chip should be covered in goodness and plantology does just that.. NO CHIP LEFT BEHIND!!. These nachos are very filling, super delicious and loaded. The only con that I have about them is that, they are not very hot when they come out. Some areas were warmer than others but if the whole plate was actually hot it would be even more enjoyable. The service, I'm big on customer service it is very important to me and plays a huge part in whether I will continue to support a restaurant or not. Service here is not top notch but it's not the worse either. Each time I've been here it has been very dry and bland. My overall rating would be as follows: Food 9/10 and service 6.5/10. Tip: it can get a bit crowded(of course) around the lunch time rush (12pm-2pm). So if you would like to dine in keep that in mind, but there's also outside seating for you to enjoy as well . Nonetheless, if you are looking for good vegan food, please do not skip by plantology. They have a lot on their menu to choose from and there is something for everybody guaranteed!

Ambiance was very laid back and casual. It's an order-at-counter and self-seating type of restaurant. Cute and modern. Food was fantastic. I had the kale caesar and street tacos and loved both! Highly recommend adding crispy chick'n to the kale caesar. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the "cheez" on those, but I stole a bite of my sister's jalapeño mac and the cheese on that was so good especially if you mix in some hot sauce. My sister also got the harvest chick'n salad and she also really liked it!! Service was friendly and patient while we took forever to decide what to get (luckily no long line behind us at about 7pm-ish on a Friday). We only waited about 10 minutes for our food.

I am not vegan but I have to say I really enjoyed the food, great taste and fresh produce. The staff were cool and the restaurant is clean and fun. I enjoyed the paintings inside and the decorative plants. I'll definitely have to try other things on the menu!

    Summer Nachos, minus two bites

We chose this place because my mom has Celiacs and Find Me Gluten Free had this listed as dedicated gluten free. The staff was friendly, the restaurant very modern, and there was a big variety in the menu. I had the Summer Nachos, with Soyrizo, cashew queso, guacamole, pico, pickled onions, and corn tortilla chips. The portions were enormous, and I shared a lot with my mother and husband and still had some left over on the plate. As a carnivore who has tried a bunch of plant based food, I will be the first to say I would 100% come back here if another one opened on my side of town.

Cauliflower wings, groovy nachos and street tacos
    Jordan S.

I've been meaning to try this spot since it opened. Finally gave it a shot for dinner last night. Fantastic!!! The cauliflower wings were perfectly seasoned, lots of sauce, crunchy and amazing. The groovy nachos (not mine) were definitely LOADED. Huge plate. I personally hate jalapeño but it still tasted good when I tried it. The street tacos are great. Definitely want to add a lot of lime to make it pop. Incredible how they make these soy bits tastes just like beef! (I'm a meat lover, sorry vegans)

Philly "cheese" "steak" with loaded fries - unbelievable!

What a gem of a find! I was traveling in San Antonio and on my way to Chipotle to get something safely vegan and gluten free, and right there, on the way, like a beacon in the night, I saw Plantology. I couldn't believe my eyes. Was this really a 100% plant-based/vegan and gluten-free eatery literally right next to my hotel in San Antonio, Texas, of all places??? YES. I immediately rushed inside and devoured the menu (metaphorically speaking). The staff were incredibly patient and informative, sharing recs on the most popular dishes and all too often overlooked gems. I went for the staff recommended philly "cheesesteak" and loaded fries, and they did not disappoint. To-go service was quick, and I had a chance to sneak into my cookies and cream shake before I got my food; it's not often the kid in me gets to enjoy this kind of food, being a strict vegan and avoiding gluten like I do. Back at the hotel, the food proved to be absolutely amazing. This time I literally devoured every bite. My second and final night in town, I of course went back to Plantology to try more of the menu, this time opting for nachos and cauliflower wings. Once again, I was impressed. I travel to Texas monthly for work and am actively trying to arrange another trip to San Antoinio JUST to get back to this restaurant - even if I'm not staying right next door the next time around. Here's to hoping they stay in business forever. Please give them your support! Even if you're not vegan and gluten-free; see if you even notice the difference!

    Dragon fruit lemonade
    Thomas G.

We decided to try and go mostly vegan with our diet and had plantology listed as a must try. We were not disappointed in the least. We order the cali fries as a side and I had the street tacos. The cali fries look small in the reviews but don't be fooled, they are huge! I only ate one amazing street taco as eating half the cali fries was filling enough. Prices are fair. Vegan meat tasted like fajitas. The dragon fruit lemonade was perfectly tart and sweet! Definitely will be a go to for us.

This place is vegan all the way down to the ketchup! So many different food varieties but a lot of it is a variation of Mexican food. I do appreciate the vegan ways to eat some of the food I miss. Meat substitute has come a long way! To really test the menu I ordered The Philly. It wasn't the best meat substitute I've tried. It was a bit bland. It was packed with a lot of contents they did not skimp. It included soy beef bits, grilled peppers, onions, mushrooms, provolone cheese, and mayo. Really big sandwich. I also ordered a lavender lemonade for drink and it was the best thing!! Service was quick but I was the only one there when I ordered. Nice decor and clean.

I guess it was really good! We demolished our entrees. Totally recommend this place. You gotta try it!

We love this place! I always forget to take a photo because I want to eat right away. Totally recommend it.

First time here since my cousin visiting from California on a vegan diet, so a good reason to try. Customer service: staff was friendly and welcoming Food: We tried the following- A. Cali fries - good flavor and lots of fries (not Keto friendly of course) B. Carnitas tacos: This was our favorite. Great seasoning ,great flavor and texture. C. Lobster roll: It was ok. I'm a lobster fan and sorry does not cut it and for that price point of $16.00 for a roll, not worth it. D. Dragon fruit lemonade: excellent E. Cookies and cream milk shake- wow! Conclusion: Highly recommend. Somewhat pricey Yet, would go there again

I absolutely love Plantology because they have nailed vegan Mexican food. I am actually not vegan, but wow I absolutely loved the food here. It all felt really fresh and delicious. You know it must be good if you have non vegans coming here for Mexican food. My favorite were the Cali fries and the cucumber lemonade.

At first it did take me a moment to find the place as the building itself doesn't say the restaurant name (written on a chalk board) but thankfully found it and came at a time when it wasnt crowded. Inside definitely doesn't give restaurant vibes. It gives more of a home vibe and has alot of board games and crayons/paints you can do. Also they have a game console in the back which is pretty cool if you like playing Mario cart. It did seem a bit dark inside as not much lights were on but once sun came out was able to see. The guy that took our order was very nice and helped us understand some of the items on the menu. He even gave us a discount for being first time customers which I appreciated. It take take some time to get our food but when we did it was all fresh and hot. We had ordered a few tacos. My brother had the phish tacos and they were actually pretty good. It almost tasted like real fish and definitely would consider getting the next time I visit. They also have us some salsa which was also delicious and tasted great with all our tacos. I did like the potato and egg I had too. It did throw me off when I tasted it with corn tortilla but it was still good. I prefer potato and egg over the bean and cheese but that's just my preference. I did order the pozole soup with jack fruit and tasted pretty good. It looked really pretty and alot of good stuff in the soup. I do feel it needed some more lime or something else but it was good regardless. Overall it was a better experience than I expected and my family even said they would consider coming back here. Can be pricy depending what you order but worth a try at least once. Another good vegan restaurant.

The food feels like the chefs were given good quality materials, but had no idea what to do with them. We ordered a funghi pizza to share then a cinghiale, a costine (short ribs), and a dentice (bass). Funghi pizza was the only dish that made coming worth it at all. It had a nice flavor, but if you're expecting the notes of an earthy mushroom flavor, don't. It's just a nicer version of a standard cheese pizza topped with some onions and mushroom. The cinghiale was just stunningly mediocre. The meat was flavorful, but the pasta itself was shockingly bland. It was just so... ok. The dentice was the best of the 3 individual dishes, but it is just what you would expect some average short ribs with random sauce to taste. The costine was just terrible. Salty on the outside, yet flavorless on the inside. Avoid at all costs. The service was passable, but they clearly overwork their servers as one server just handles an entire section and is too overwhelmed to be timely. I came to cheer myself up, but honestly it only made dinner comically worse. I seriously can't imagine what would cause someone to rate this as 5 stars. Maybe if they thought Olive Garden was 4.5, then I guess this would barely be a 5 in comparison? Either way, if you're looking for good food for your dinner, keep looking. You won't find it here.

Every dish feels thoughtfully curated with tried-and-true recipes rooted in Chef Luca and his family's Northern Italian traditions. This is the kind of place where quality takes priority over quantity. Our server, Gary, was fantastic. He was friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and passionate about Italian food and wine. His recommendations were spot-on and his enthusiasm felt so genuine. We started with a bread basket accompanied by a little sampling of tapenade, which was savory, briny, and a perfect complement to the warm bread. Came in with a group of four, we kicked things off with the burrata starter--a surprisingly fun and shareable adventure of baked burrata, fresh crostini, roasted cauliflower, asparagus, sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, and basil cream. There was a lot happening on the plate, but it all worked beautifully together. For our entrées, we ordered the Tartufo, Cinghiale, Bolognese, and Carbonara. And let me just say, the Tartufo was a full-on dinner performance. Gary brought out steaming hot tagliatelle pasta and tossed it tableside inside a giant wheel of Parmesan. He then topped it with crab meat in brown butter before finishing it with a generous shaving of truffle. Every bite was like a perfectly timed symphony of flavors--rich, savory, buttery, and earthy, with nothing outshining the other. I'd put this dish up against anyone's nonna. I sampled the other three entrées as well, and every one was delicious. The gnocchi in the Cinghiale is an absolute must-try--pillowy, texturally delightful, and packed with flavor. Thank you, Nonna Osteria, for such an epic culinary experience. And a special shoutout to Gary for guiding us through the menu and making an already great dinner even better.

I'm taken aback every time I walk into to this wonderfully positioned taqueria in downtown steps from the River Walk. The smells, the feels, the sounds- it'll set your senses on fire. It's ambience is nothing short of walking the streets of Mexico and stumbling across the best local food find there is- it's your lucky day. It doesn't end there, because I have yet to discuss the flavors that this place dishes out. If you can imagine that other taquerias in town as as good as mamma's cooking, Plantaqueria is grandma's cooking saying, " I taught them everything they know." The counter service, decor and neon lights transport you to a pueblo that you probably have no business being in but were fortunate enough to get lost in. I feel that the people working to advance this visionary concept are in love with what they do because you get that experience with every bite of fresh, homemade goodness, weather you dine in or take/order out. Dude, fresh corn and flour tortillas, C'mon, man!! And speaking of vision, the owner, Sofia, who looks like she would get IDd at a bar has created something truly unique and incredibly delicious. Plantaqueria has revolutionized modern, classical Mexican street cuisine. It's open 7am-7pm so you can literally have this all day and you might wish you did. I visited this restaurant with two vegetarian friends who are visiting from out of town. I've been…read morewanting to check it out for years and now I wish that I'd eaten there sooner! Hugo served us, and he was very polite and helpful. The decor, murals, and paintings were all wonderful. All of the food was so delicious and fresh. The nachos appetizer was huge! It was a gorgeous mountain of food. The three of us couldn't finish the large size. The chips were crispy and the toppings were yummy. I can honestly say that these are the best nachos that I've had in San Antonio. I ordered the soft "chicken" taco plate. The "chicken" had a great texture, and the corn tortillas were excellent. The rice and salad were also good. We really enjoyed the beans! My dining companions ordered the kids' chicken tacos (which was a huge serving, and she took one taco home), and the cauliflower mole. They both loved their meals, but wished that they ate less nachos to make room for their entrees. My dining companions also had pineapple agua fresca, and they enjoyed it, too. I was really curious about desert but I had no room left in my tummy to try any. I can't wait to go back again. Next time, I'll get a small nacho and split desert with someone. Five stars.

Our meal felt more of a health focused meal than an exciting bold flavors meal. Maybe other items would have been more exciting though. I liked the atmosphere out on the patio. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!
