I think it's a wonderful place to support and I hope they continue to grow and grow the support for San Antonio's community members in need! My dad and i went for lunch on taco Tuesday. Service was quick and food came out quickly as well! We were able to be in and out and back to work! At first it did take me a moment to find the place as the building itself doesn't say the restaurant name (written on a chalk board) but thankfully found it and came at a time when it wasnt crowded. Inside definitely doesn't give restaurant vibes. It gives more of a home vibe and has alot of board games and crayons/paints you can do. Also they have a game console in the back which is pretty cool if you like playing Mario cart. It did seem a bit dark inside as not much lights were on but once sun came out was able to see. The guy that took our order was very nice and helped us understand some of the items on the menu. He even gave us a discount for being first time customers which I appreciated. It take take some time to get our food but when we did it was all fresh and hot. We had ordered a few tacos. My brother had the phish tacos and they were actually pretty good. It almost tasted like real fish and definitely would consider getting the next time I visit. They also have us some salsa which was also delicious and tasted great with all our tacos. I did like the potato and egg I had too. It did throw me off when I tasted it with corn tortilla but it was still good. I prefer potato and egg over the bean and cheese but that's just my preference. I did order the pozole soup with jack fruit and tasted pretty good. It looked really pretty and alot of good stuff in the soup. I do feel it needed some more lime or something else but it was good regardless. Overall it was a better experience than I expected and my family even said they would consider coming back here. Can be pricy depending what you order but worth a try at least once. Another good vegan restaurant.

Note, you can ask to add salmon, chicken, or chicken sausage to anything We started with the Cilantro Coconut Guacamole, which was such a unique combo with blackberries and mesquite tortillas. We also started out by trying their soup of the day which was a Brazilian recipe and it was SO good. Fresh, comforting, and full of flavor. As far as entrees we ordered the Spice Route Beets were vibrant and flavorful. We added salmon on the side. We also ordered the Pharm Kitchari (with chicken sausage added) was wholesome and well balanced. Oh and the vanilla bean mesquite latte is sooo darn delicious. I had two and still want more. Smooth, slightly smoky, and not too sweet. If you want food that tastes clean, fresh, and delicious, this spot is a must.

I'm so excited to see healthier dining options making their way into airports, and I really hope this place succeeds. The customer service was fantastic as well. I used to always go to Merit, but this will be my new go-to spot. I also tried the lavender cookie, and it was delicious. I love finding food and drinks that taste great without leaving me feeling sluggish or weighed down afterward. This place delivered on both quality and experience.

The food feels like the chefs were given good quality materials, but had no idea what to do with them. We ordered a funghi pizza to share then a cinghiale, a costine (short ribs), and a dentice (bass). Funghi pizza was the only dish that made coming worth it at all. It had a nice flavor, but if you're expecting the notes of an earthy mushroom flavor, don't. It's just a nicer version of a standard cheese pizza topped with some onions and mushroom. The cinghiale was just stunningly mediocre. The meat was flavorful, but the pasta itself was shockingly bland. It was just so... ok. The dentice was the best of the 3 individual dishes, but it is just what you would expect some average short ribs with random sauce to taste. The costine was just terrible. Salty on the outside, yet flavorless on the inside. Avoid at all costs. The service was passable, but they clearly overwork their servers as one server just handles an entire section and is too overwhelmed to be timely. I came to cheer myself up, but honestly it only made dinner comically worse. I seriously can't imagine what would cause someone to rate this as 5 stars. Maybe if they thought Olive Garden was 4.5, then I guess this would barely be a 5 in comparison? Either way, if you're looking for good food for your dinner, keep looking. You won't find it here.

GAME CHANGER! When…read moreI visit San Antonio Plantaqueria is an absolute must. I'm taken aback every time I walk into to this wonderfully positioned taqueria in downtown steps from the River Walk. The smells, the feels, the sounds- it'll set your senses on fire. It's ambience is nothing short of walking the streets of Mexico and stumbling across the best local food find there is- it's your lucky day. It doesn't end there, because I have yet to discuss the flavors that this place dishes out. If you can imagine that other taquerias in town as as good as mamma's cooking, Plantaqueria is grandma's cooking saying, " I taught them everything they know." The counter service, decor and neon lights transport you to a pueblo that you probably have no business being in but were fortunate enough to get lost in. I feel that the people working to advance this visionary concept are in love with what they do because you get that experience with every bite of fresh, homemade goodness, weather you dine in or take/order out. Dude, fresh corn and flour tortillas, C'mon, man!! And speaking of vision, the owner, Sofia, who looks like she would get IDd at a bar has created something truly unique and incredibly delicious. Plantaqueria has revolutionized modern, classical Mexican street cuisine. It's open 7am-7pm so you can literally have this all day and you might wish you did. Y'all need to get you some, and don't thank me, thank the purveyors of this Alamo City gem. P.s. I've brought my mom in to eat this stuff and she totally agrees!

(It had Just Egg but I think other things added with it. It felt that it was softer and lighter than if it was only Just Egg) and pico de gallo on handmade flour tortilla. We were surprised by how much we enjoyed it. Their two self-serve complementary salsas were also fun and creamy. Concha- Delicious and we liked the top of it. Maybe one of our favorite conchas. Elote hot cake - Came out really hot and was delicious. These are only available on weekends. I was tempted to get more but we had lots more food targets on the schedule. Torta with Asada was pretty good too. But the other items excited me more I think. The person at the front also gave us some samples of other taco fillings to try: the fillings of the La Ranchera: Potatoes and pico de gallo in salsa ranchera and also grilled nopales. My husband who is usually not as crazy as me about nopales liked them here. They have mole on the weekends but it's not housemade from scratch. They use premade mole and add some more things to it so we skipped that one. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!

It was a gorgeous mountain of food. The three of us couldn't finish the large size. The chips were crispy and the toppings were yummy. I can honestly say that these are the best nachos that I've had in San Antonio. I ordered the soft "chicken" taco plate. The "chicken" had a great texture, and the corn tortillas were excellent. The rice and salad were also good. We really enjoyed the beans! My dining companions ordered the kids' chicken tacos (which was a huge serving, and she took one taco home), and the cauliflower mole. They both loved their meals, but wished that they ate less nachos to make room for their entrees. My dining companions also had pineapple agua fresca, and they enjoyed it, too.
