Veterans are an extraordinarily rare 6% of the population who Served for those who couldn't Serve in the U.S. Armed Forces, and Served for those who wouldn't Serve in the U.S. Armed Forces. Greedflation has not struck here. Platanito Latin Cuisine service staff answered all our questions graciously which made a good first impression. We did The Take-Out of a variety of their Gourmet Pupusas. We made sure before we left that what we ordered is what we got. It was. Everything tasted fresh. Did what they're in business to do Has average prices; adequate food, okay customer service, okay wait time. Food here is definitely um, ummm, good Latin Cuisine, with what I think is authentic Salvadoran. They also offer authentic Mexican and combination dishes of Salvadoran and Mexican. The owner wisely made that choice to broaden their customer base. Their sweet fried plantains drizzled with crema salvadoreña was a pleasant savory surprise. Starting in the 1980s, early waves of poor Salvadoran immigrants began arriving in the United States, fueled in part by the civil war that was raging in El Salvador. Due to speaking Spanish, some Salvadoran immigrants started their restaurant career at a Mexican restaurant. If you're familiar with Salvadoran cuisine, then you probably already know that several dishes sometimes resemble those of authentic Mexican cuisine. However, sometimes resemble are the keywords there. Salvadoran food is a delicious and unique cuisine that is a mix of Central America indigenous, Spanish and North America Mexican flavors. Popular Salvadoran dishes include pupusas, which are corn tortillas filled with cheese, beans and pork, and served with curtido, a spicy cabbage slaw. Dyk that throughout the 1980s, the United States provided the wealthy-corporate-landowner oligarchy-backed Salvadoran military with $1 million a day; a total of $6 billion dollars. Those funds helped the oligarchy-backed Salvadoran military to eliminate the insurgency by the poor and any perceived supporters of the poor. This used to be one of my favorite spots, and I used to order 15 pupusa's at a time for my office, but since we relocated, I haven't been able to come as often. I was really looking forward when I placed my phone order and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I showed up 17 minutes later and they told me that my food had not been put on the grill and it was going to be another 8 minutes and I could not risk being late for my meeting. Definitely disappointing. I think I would've understood more if it was really busy, but it was very slow and just made me feel like they simply forgot about me. I hope this motivates the establishment to not let that happen to someone else who was really looking forward to something special. read more

Soscol Avenue is where I found them parked because of its red color truck. I order the same Pupusas that I'm craving for. 2 porkbelly + cheese 2 bean + cheese 2 Chorizo+cheese 2 Tacos in purple corn tortilla 1 order of sweet Plantain The food is cooked fresh, so it's worth waiting for 30 minutes. Today I really wanted to eat healthier, so I searched Yelp for a place to visit that served Jackfruit. I located this place which was a few towns over and decided to take the drive to try the food after reading all of the reviews. This place was so worth it! The customer service was excellent. I had questions, she had answers. I immediately noticed the cars parked around the parking lot and I'm sure they were all eating the great food! We got there at a good time because after we placed an order, card started lining up being their truck! The menu is simple; which I loved a lot. It makes ordering quick, simple but still satisfying. I ordered a chicken pupusa and it was everything I hoped for! It didn't taste too greasy or too salty to me. It was just right. Every bite was satisfying. For $5, it's a decent size and totally worth it because it is filled with your choice of meat! I was surprised to see it even came with 4 slices of plantains! Super yummy and sweet! My boyfriend, Dario O., ordered the steak quesadilla. It was huuuuge!! Each quesadilla was packed with meat and cheese! Tip: If you check in on Yelp, you get a free Agua Fresca! Saw this food truck parked right outside of our hotel in Napa (The River Terrace Inn). My boyfriend was super excited to see this truck. He's Salvadoran and grew up there and so he absolutely loves pupusas. If you've never had a pupusa, it's basically a pocket of corn filled with cheese, beans, and/or meat. Good ones can be a bit hard to find in the Bay Area, but this place did not disappoint! We were super hungry so I ordered 2 frijole and queso pupusas, 2 queso pupusas, 2 pastor tacos, 1 carne asada taco and the plantains with crema. Each pupusa is $5 each but they are large, so it's worth it! The entire order came out to be about $45 including tax and tip but it was definitely worth it for the amount of food we got (it ended up being too much food.) Everything we tried was delicious, especially the pupusas. The cheese inside was melty (and very authentic, according to my boyfriend.) They serve it with red tomato salsa and curtido (a vinegar coleslaw) as well. First time trying out Platanito Latin Cuisine's food truck around the Napa area with my gf. We visited on a Wednesday afternoon and it was located, I believe on Soscol Avenue next to other surrounding restaurants and downtown Napa. Luckily there was no line when we got there, but it got busy super quick once we ordered our food. Their menu is small and simple which I liked because most food trucks have huge menus making it hard to make choices. I ordered a steak quesadilla and my gf ordered a chicken pupusa. My steak quesadilla was huuuge and packed with plenty of steak and cheese to get enough in each bite. The steak was tender and the cheese was melted all around. I wish they added some guacamole or sour cream on the side, but that might be an added cost. The pupusa was extra soft and delicious, especially with the cabbage on top. Both items were a little bit on the spicy side, but enough to handle. ***check-in to get a free 20oz drink! We both got a horchata and I thought it wasn't the best I've ever had, but after a couple sips, it began to taste better. It's not the sweetest compared to others, but that's probably what makes their horchata special. The food is reasonably priced and the food came out within 5-10 minutes. The tacos are awesome - love the handmade blue corn tortillas, and the meat and toppings are all great and go together well and are meaningfully different for each meat. This is a must go to taco truck in Napa. You must order at least one pupusa, all of them are great. They give you an option of spicy salsa or regular. If you are truly not a spicy food person, do not get the spicy! I think it is personally delicious. These tortillas are by far my favorite taco truck tortillas in Napa. Wow! What a pleasant surprise this morning at the Napa Farmer's Market. I was looking for something savory and not too spicy. Platanito delivered!! I have had Pupusas about a half a dozen times in my life, but these are on another level. One thing you don't want is a dry Pupusa and these are the opposite of that. Full of meat or cheese, fresh and moist. The sauce it comes with has a nice zip but not heavy on the spice. The slaw has a light vinegar that just pairs perfectly with the dish. In conclusion, this is a family run food truck that delivers incredible high quality food in the beautiful setting of Napa where you can always expect friendly great service. Be careful! I was excited to find this place because it's so hard to find vegan options in Napa. Several things on their menu says vegan, the pastor and jackfruit quesadillas, a burrito option and a papusa. I got a quesadilla but when it arrived it looked very much like regular cheese and meat. I called to ask what it was made out of and turns out it was real cheese and pork, so not even vegetarian. The owner on the phone admitted to seeing my request for vegan and had went ahead with diliberijf real meat and cheese anyway, seems like I would not have been told if I hadn't called. The jackfruit (their non meat option) says vegan but turns out you'd have to request no cheese and sour cream since it does not use a vegan version even though it's listed as such. I have not eaten meat in 5 years and I am lactose intolerant so I'm very glad I called to double check and didn't believe the menu descriptions because I would've been very very sick. To make things worse for some reason the food was delivered to my neighbors back doorstep instead of to my house.. I never received an apology for the mistake and instead got an angry yelp message from the owner for my honest review... I'm very shocked at how the whole situation was handled. read more

During the past few weeks, I decided to try every food truck on the portion of Soscal between Pearl and Lincoln. I tasted the same item at each truck: chicken tacos. This was the best out of all of them. Platanito serves their tacos on nice, pillowy, blue corn tortillas. They top them with onions and what I think was a type of molé.
