Great location! The restaurant was very clean and service was prompt. The food is solid but lacked a bit of seasoning. The ingredients were very fresh. My favorite dish that night was their tiramisu! I believe the tiramisu is a seasonal dessert but should really be a permanent part of their menu!

We were very excited to try Plate. We arrived looking forward to try their great happy hour menu to sadly find out that it is only available at the bar. It was not stated online. So we opted for a couple cocktails that were done very well. We started with the grilled octopus and it was delicious! We also ordered the focaccia that came with a ricotta spread that was delicious we actually ordered another. I had a half Caesar salad which was interesting. It resembled a wedge salad with a fried parm chip on the side. We had to send one back due to brown lettuce sadly. Our server did not apologize but brought us another one begrudgingly. I ordered the PAPPARDELLE and it was very interesting. The sauce was rich and creamy. The noodles were ok. A large clump of them were stuck together. The pork was a tad over cooked and a bit powdery almost. My husband had the Bolognese and it was good. The sauce was done well but it was served with shredded beef and that was interesting. Atmosphere is very modern and clean which is so different for KC Italian. Overall the food was good. I feel like the restaurant is overpriced for what they are serving. Our service was subpar as well which was disappointing at a restaurant like this. I will say we had 2 issues with food quality and the manager came by to rectify the situation and I was very impressed by this.

We are here recently for a business dinner while visiting SelectQuote. Some observations: 1) Menu was a prix fix for the evening we dined. We had a 4 course menu that included Pastas, a salad, and a dessert. 2) Everything was very flavorful and the servers were very nice. 3) The wine menu was spot on for the dishes served. Good choice for a business night out or a date night if you want good quality Italian at a reasonable price.

I was really looking forward to dinner at Plate, and it did not disappoint. The meatballs were delicious, served with a sauce that had a nice kick. The Moderno salad -- with cherries, cured beef, pine nuts, and goat cheese -- was flavorful, though the espresso vinaigrette unfortunately tasted more like straight vinegar than espresso. I had the short rib bolognese and it was absolutely delicious. Others at the table ordered the Funghi pasta with creamy white sauce, which was good but could have used a bit more mushroom flavor. The Toscana chicken breast (bone-in) with sun-dried tomato sauce had that perfect "marry me" flavor -- rich and satisfying. For dessert, we had the Plate chocolate cake with raspberry and pistachios. It was a huge slice, with a rich chocolate flavor. So why not five stars? Despite having reservations, we were seated right by the kitchen where servers pick up food. Made more annoying because the restaurant had a lot of empty booths and tables in the main dining room. The upside was that the pizza ovens kept us warm, but it wasn't the most relaxing spot. There were also a couple billing issues: the tip was calculated on the post-tax total rather than pre-tax. Also our prix fixe dinners included dessert and we opted to upgrade to a different dessert from the menu. Oddly the up-charge was $6, even though the menu price difference was only $3. That said, Plate offers delicious, well-priced food (though the drinks are on the expensive side), and it's still a great choice for Italian food in Kansas City

Didn't expect to end up here, but I was pleasantly surprised. We had amazing service from. Joey. He was very knowledgeable about everything. You could tell how passionate he was about everything he served to us. The thing that impressed me the most was the size of the tiramisu. I didn't expect to have enough left over for days after. indulgence was an understatement, I'm so excited to go back. I keep recommending it to other people who haven't been there.

The arancini and the bombalini were my fav parts of this meal! I also got the cacio e pepe (forgot to take a pic of it. It was good but very very rich. The brussel sprouts salad was tasty as well. Our food took over an hour to come out, but they were very apologetic as they were busy for the holiday & gave us a free dessert to thank us for being so patient! We were busy catching up and had drinks/apps so it wasn't a huge deal.

We came here for happy hour after we had received a $30 gift card for a birthday a few weeks earlier. The host was incredibly welcoming and kind! We ordered a pizza and a couple appetizers. The meatballs were nice, tender. The tomato bruschetta was alright... not my favorite bruschetta I've had. The pizza was really nice, the Quattro formaggi. I loved the cheese and crispiness of it. We asked for pepperoni and the server kept calling it express pepperoni... there were 4 pieces. When we asked for the check it was $37 before ti. We handed them the gift card and after they ran the gift card which very clearly said $30 they said there was only $20 on it... this was a gift card straight from the restaurant itself. A bit embarrassing and lack of attention to detail. It ended up they honored the $30, after trying to tell us it was a $20 birthday gift card and trying to say they reuse gift cards. The website very clearly states a $30 gift card for birthday. Overall the food was alright to me and the service was average aside from the host who was welcoming and kind.

Stopped in for a date night. Food was good, atmosphere is dimly lit, service was on the slower side. Food was great. The flavor was great, I'm not sure this would be considered a favorite, but I would definitely visit again.

Service was outstanding -- right up until a hard cutoff at 9pm despite a room that still had around ten people in it. The interior itself felt a little torn between identities -- some modern touches mixed with older elements, and a TV that seemed out of place given the vibe, even though I get the appeal of pulling in a game-watching crowd. The lighting didn't help either -- too bright for a spot that's clearly going for intimate conversation, it ended up feeling more like being under a spotlight. Turn the lights down and this place comes together.

It's a smaller, simpler cocktail menu and the prices are very fair compared to other cocktail spots. I tried the Caipirinha (pineapple) and the Negroni sour. Both were good. Second I tried the Neo Cosmo (white rum, strawberry, cacao, coconut, rose hip, lime, bubble) which was good and was a fun drink with an ice cream shaped cup and a bubble on the top (meant to look like an ice cream cone). If you are in the area, this bar is a must try, the bartenders were awesome and took good care of us. The place is a nice big restaurant in mission farms. It's an upscale casual vibe that is a bit different from the places we usually like to go for morning food. Nice comfortable seats and well appointed. We had never been before so we asked our server several questions and she was awesome. We spend a lot of time in New Orleans and they had beignets on the menu. She said no on the beignets in the friendliest way. She knew we wouldn't like them. Probably nothing against them they are probably fine enough but she understood where we were coming and politely gave us the scoop. Not only that but i was starving and she recommended we have the breakfast nachos that she described like tostadas and she was right! Perfect! All restaurants should have someone who cares about the business and customer enough to steer them the right way. We were both impressed with her. After the "nachos" we shared a breakfast burrito. Everything we got was good. The burrito was pork and eggs and it was tasty. Only thing is I wished they would have grilled the tortilla on the outside to firm it up. The potatoes were fine, but a bit bland. They could have used some seasoning and more onions. The nachos were good but I think could've used a bit more cheese. Overall, we were pretty happy and will be back. I am curious to try an omelette next time. I wonder if we can get the same server.

The cheese was a delightful bold contrast to very well blended meatballs. It wasn't extremely creamy polenta but melted enough to eat along with the meatballs. By themselves seasoned goodness. Calamari was all rings, battered which was a different breading than I was used to but very good with both sugo and calabrian aioli provided. The portion was standard restaurant quantity but of course rings are honestly premium. Chicken parm plated along side parmesan rigatoni had crispy breading flavor with provolone and mozzarella atop. Every bite was savory. I needed a little salt on the rigatoni. My friend said her sliders were good too, even though the bread may look stiff, it was soft, she wanted the side of marinara for more moistness. We shared the dessert.. the butter cake was divine.
