ABSOLUTELY AWFUL EXPERIENCE with Plateau Diesel Performance, Inc. in Enumclaw, WA. I dropped my truck off on May 5, 2026, for transmission shifting issues with a new transmission they installed -- which they've now had to replace a second time. They also had to redo the labor under warranty due to a severely leaking rear main seal, even after supposedly completing the job the second time. This was also my second attempt to get this shop to stand behind its work. My first attempt dates back to March 28, 2026, when I was told I had to pay a $279 diagnostic fee for the same issue related to their original work -- which I refused to pay and instead sought a second opinion. After finally getting them to honor their warranty on May 5, my truck is still in their shop due to ongoing shifting issues. I've been given every excuse: "I'm sick," "we're short staffed," "other vehicles do this too," and the worst -- "try not to drive in a way that makes the issue happen" -- straight from someone who indicated, he's part owner. Seriously? That's not a fix -- that's avoiding the problem. The work has been sloppy, the communication terrible, and the problem still isn't fixed. I don't know if there's been new ownership, high staff turnover, or just poor management, but this shop seriously needs to get its act together. I have very little faith this shop will fully correct the issues with my vehicle related to the transmission they've installed. I have a 2004 PowerStoke 6.0 that this place has been keeping alive for several years. They certainly know their stuff but it doesn't come cheap. Their prices are above what you might pay elsewhere, but you get what you pay for. That experience and knowledge has a price. So if you are looking for affordable diesel repairs, you might have sicker shock. But if you want Diesel experts, this may be what you are looking for. read more

Called to schedule last week Thursday. The receptionist Melissa is not friendly. Says their tech will call back. No call. Reached back on Tuesday to try again. Same lady Answers and cuts ya off mid sentence and says the tech will call today. Never heard from them. I have used them in the past to go success. What happened up there Chuck??? We had our '99 F250 7.3L Diesel transmission replaced by Plateau Diesel a couple years ago. They were great and did a terrific job in a very reasonable amount of time. This visit was for, in part, the two-year transmission check, and an all around mechanical check of the truck. I can say with confidence and enthusiasm this shop workd well with us; scheduling and their maintenance has been top-drawer. They are expensive - but I don't have a lot of exposure to a lot of other Diesel shops, except dealers, etc. They're ALL pretty pricey these days. Several days later and my truck has been brought to another shop to be inspected for Issues that arises after Plateaus Work was performed. The Down pipe I insisted on not putting on has been improperly installed causing loud rattle upon deceleration which Again They installed this down-pipe and it left me with a new boost leak and a horrendous noise having me to yet again out the truck in another shop to fix the work they performed. Not sure how this was missed after they did a QC check and drove it around. This wasn't even the problem I brought it in for and I insisted on not changing any parts but they did! After spending more than They quoted me for I'd expect them to go through everything especially after diagnostic time and for how long they had my rig to perform work. read more

The service, respectful attitude and actual sense of caring was a huge. Gave me a little hope in humanity left, which right now is amazing. Where to begin, I brought these guys my new to me truck for a oil leak and just to check It out make sure it's running how it should be. Got a rough quote of 2 to 3 weeks 11k. I said that seems high but oh well. Well.. 3 months and 18k later I got my truck back. My first drive was to my house, 15 miles away and wouldn't u know it first thing it does is leak oil. Now after looking at the bill and seeing 18k I was a little mad. They took it back no questions asked and said we will fix it well 1400 dollars later and 2 and a half weeks I got it back again. And I'll be damned it still leaked. Not to mention when I dropped this thing off I had afe live when I picked her up no afe live to be found. I defiantly do not recommend these guys on anyone's truck. 1 out of 10 and that's generous And that response is a very funny response beware of Jordan Conner haha who never argued over price who handed u cash at end of day and never once have I ever said it stopped leaking I wish my pictures would load haha management is as shitty as they come here and I not the first nor the last to show people ur truth hahah also love how no mention of my afe live being taken off and not returned or anything else hahah Also to say u own this prestigious diesel shop and not know what afe live is, to me that shows u don't know what u guys r doing to some of these peoples trucks. As a woman we're used to being fleeced by auto repairmen, No different here. I asked for a quote to repair an oil leak and they came back with $1900. I asked why so much they said the oil leak was only a couple hundred but I really needed to replace another part because "it will always eventually go bad in these trucks" I asked then you're quoting me to repair something that isn't broken? Well yes! It will always go bad. I had to argue quite a while with them to just fix the oil leak. That was more than six years ago. The thing that always goes bad? It never did. I have had my truck there for work a few times now. The first time they did a good job, the second time they tried to con me about what it would take to do some work I asked to get done so I declined and chalked it up to a misunderstanding, the third time my truck went in with a bad gasket that they successfully fixed but when I got my truck back someone had taken it out for a hot lap turned my tuner all the way up and raced it around until it threw some engine codes when confronted about it first they said they drove it then they lied and said they didn't which is funny cause how else do you get a 10,000 pound truck in the shop? None the less my truck left with more problems than it arrived with. I guess it's a good thing I was a ASE certified mechanic before I moved on to construction guess I'll have to fix it myself. Maybe once they were a good shop but now they're just liars to try and drag in the $$$ from unsuspecting customers who don't know about they're vehicles. Do yourself a favor and don't go there unless you like having your money stolen and your diesel driven like it was too. read more

I took my Ram 2500 to them had service done. Parked truck in my garage. The next morning had oil on the floor. Leaking out of transmission pan gasket. Called them they said bring it back so I did. They didn't believe me that it was coming from the pan. It takes over a hour to get there from my house. They basically put me off. I'll never go back. They can kiss my you know what. read more

I have had a fair amount of work done here on my 04 dodge 3500 diesel truck. I have been very satisfied with the work, communication and professionalism of the staff and mechanics here. The work is first rate and staff keep you informed of potential problems that might need attention. They know the idiosyncrasy's of my model and year truck, so can predict or know what may need looking at ahead of a problem. This truck has been a good runner for our family, towing a 10,000 lb trailer. Recently I looked at purchasing a new rig, no way, this ones paid for. So I'll keep it and keep it maintained. Maintenance is not cheap, but neither is a new rig, with the pros at PDP I feel confident I have many more miles in this rig. read more

This is an update of my past review as I have had work done on my dodge truck. Plateau is still carrying on the legacy of Mike by doing great work. I had some work done on my 4 wheel drive truck and had an issue a short time later with it and the people at plateau stepped up and fixed the problem unconditionally. Although it was a little inconvenient for me, I don't live near the business, I wouldn't have anyone else work on my diesel truck. I have always been told what was wrong, got a phone call estimate and allowed to make a choice on fixing what has to be fixed right now and what can wait. What shop does that anymore? The drive is worth it to me. Everyone there are great people, from the mechanics to the office staff. read more

Plateau has a nice shop with a number of mechanics working there. I had my vehicle in because it would not start. After charging 2.5 hours to replace a fuel pump and 3 hours for a complete diagnosis they were able to get it fixed. They recommended additional repairs totaling 32 hours to get the vehicle where it should be, totaling ~$10K including parts. That seemed a bit steep to me, so luckily I decided to get a second opinion. The second mechanic had the vehicle diagnosed and fully repaired in ~10 hours, less than 1/3 the time Plateau estimated. By taking to another mechanic I paid less than 40% of what Plateau was going to charge me. I am sure the mechanics at Plateau know what they are doing, however walk in expecting to pay Ford dealer prices. read more

Spoke to Jack at Plateau about fixing a broken rusted fuel line on my GMC sierra 2500HD. Explained my issue and was told to bring the truck in for a FASS fuel pump install to resolve the fuel leak.. Brought the truck in and was sold on a Diagnostic check as well for $495. 2 days later was told they wont fix the truck due to rust. That was the whole reason I brought the truck 60miles to them for repair. I drove the truck to the shop and it was working fine other than the fuel leak. Now they tell me 2 brake lines broke while it was there ( not sure how that happened while in their care) was told to junk the truck and wasn't salvageable. They still charged me $500 to tell me to come get my POS truck. I spoke to Jack and Chuck and both told me different stories . Jack said not fixable but Chuck said they could fix it 2 days later Jack calls me and say they wont fix truck. Still charged me Diagnostic fee anyway. This was the worst auto repair customer service I've ever experienced. Needless to say its money pit shop that is not vey helpful. I would look else where for service. They've got so big they have forgot customer service is #1. Chuck was helpful and nice when I dropped the truck off and was helpful by letting me unload my bike on a lift to make it easier. Beside that its wasn't a good experience. Took it to my local shop fuel line was replaced and issue was resolved in 2 days for $800. Seems like a big shop like PDP would be able to do the same. read more

HIGHLY over priced and tried to upsell me on other issues that was "wrong" with my truck. Funny, when I took it to another mechanic NONE of those things were wrong and what was wrong they fixed for $1,300 cheaper. Not to mention the fact that you had the truck for a week before you looked at it AND charged me $440 JUST to diagnose the problem and even though the estimate just for the diagnosis was $330 and when I complained you honored that estimate, which I appreciate however, you just lost this customer and I've got a lot of friends as well as my truck club that have diesels and they WON"T be bringing them to your shop. read more

This place is a joke. Spent 600 for a diagnosis on why my 7.3 was having a problem losing power on acceleration at times and all they could say after having it for a week was they couldn't diagnose something that didn't show up on the computer. Seriously? Isn't that what a mechanic does is see or hear the problem and figure it out? They also said it seemed to "fix itself" in the paperwork but still managed to charge 600$ for absolutely nothing and the day I drove it home it did it again. Had a 21 year old buddy who has been a diesel mechanic for only a year find the problem in literally 2 minutes after he drove it and felt what it was doing. Took of the main engine cover moved the wiring harness and it killed the truck. Untapped the original ford dealership tape found a bare wire touching metal and hasn't had a problem since. Definitely a bunch of lazy asses obviously. Don't waste your money read more

Took our 92 GMC in as towing created smoke out the tailpipe and I had little power. After an exhaustive diagnosis costing about $350 we had our giant list of things that needed to be done. They were very thorough and spot on in the diagnosis. We had the work done and Chuck and Reggie kept us in the loop as the repairs were completed. They were down a mechanic due to injury but continued to keep us in the loop as to when they would get everything done. When we picked up there was discussion on whether the diagnosis was to be credited toward the final bill. I expected it but hadn't gotten it in writing. They did not credit it immediately. After complaining about feeling a bit misled they remedied it by offering additional work at no charge, some minor oil leaks that showed up after everything was together. That's good enough for me. They stand behind their work and my truck runs like a TOP!!! We were hauling at 50% power so it's like having a new truck. We will go back. Just be sure to have it all in writing :) read more

This place is a RIP OFF !!! Stay away !!! I spent $5,000 here for and still had the original issue I brought it in for wrong with it when I left then they want to charge me another $1,200 to fix it for what I brought in for in the first place! I paid him $120 an hour basically to walk around my truck and tighten bolts I can see if you're doing internal work but it was all external work that was done. I paid them for a fool Bumper to Bumper diagnostic which most places will credit you back if you get the work done at the shop but not them then they told me they could fix my fast pump because it was having an issue and I said okay and after $500 they told me nope can't be fixed you need to get a new fast pump. I spent a fortune here in my truck only has 120,000 miles on it and I've always kept it maintenance. I let them change the batteries and I never even had an issue with the batteries. I was trying to give these guys a chance but if you asked me they're Crooks and I will stay away from here there's a lot of places that will work on your truck for far cheaper than $120 an hour. Trust me they were keep finding more and more stuff that you really don't need to do. And I have plenty of money it ain't the money is bothering me it's the principle so no I'm not a disgruntled person I'm just a pissed-off person I can't stand the fact I'll in someone get over on me that doesn't happen very often so hats off to Diesel Performance. read more

I purchased a 1996 Dodge 2500 12 valve Cummins recently to get reliability and longevity in my retirement while pulling my 10k lb. boat and hauling my Alaskan 10 ft camper into high elevations for hunting and fishing. Previously I had 99 F350 7.3L. I'm very satisfied with Plateau Diesel. Complete analysis, listed, separated out the work I was able to do. This is a USED vehicle not new. Previous maintenance wasn't the best. I authorized the work order, once into the engine I knew other issues may need work. Quick return calls with repairs needed while into the project were my relief not a surprise. I do not want breakdowns while 6,000 ft elevation in the mountains. The quality of work performed is very good. Lower overall expense than dealerships. If you don't have the money don't make the call. I received what I needed, Honesty without any hidden surprises, Integrity they did everything they said and listed on file for me, Cost Savings when I know I could have spent more. Humans mixed with Technology in a Business of Service is a mistake waiting to happen. Not all service techs are the same.
