    Greek Salad
    John B.

Having tried the North Charleston Platia location, I was surprised that this one was merely a takeout with a few outdoor seats. The pickup experience was not particularly smooth, with some inconsistent information between the various online options and their in-person signage leaving me wondering if anyone was actually there at all. Eventually, someone else got their attention, and a person who spoke very little English managed to get me my food. I wasn't thrilled with my decision to order a salad; one wants to eat healthy of course, but it had so many cucumbers and olives and so little lettuce that it wasn't really what I was hoping for. I ended up using the pita I got from my pita and dips appetizer a lot to eat the falafel and limited salad, which makes me think I should have just gotten a wrap anyway. The fries on the side were lightly breaded and dusted with oregano, which is a distinctive and delicious way to eat fries. On a nice day and with a different order, I could perhaps do better. The food is good, but I preferred their other location.

First of all, the guy who works here is one of the sweetest, kindest people I have ever met. He was manning the register and the entire restaurant, being so helpful to everyone. I would come back just for his customer service! Second of all, the food was delicious. I got the gyro wrap with lamb patties, vegan tzatziki, falafel, and baklava! Highly recommend coming here.

Went here tonight after placing an online order- the menu is very misleading/ price $ & description for the food is bad. I ordered the Classic Gyro and it stated that it had the toppings below but The fries were inside the gyro instead of the side. So if u order know that the fries will be INSIDE the gyro bc they are too lazy to put it on the side. See photo below.

Used to order from here and then stopped. Tonight I remembered why - the assembly and packaging of delivery orders is absolutely terrible. Tonight we ordered a plate, two salads, a side of falafel and a side of pita and over 50% was packaged poorly. Despite the fact our delivery was relatively quick in under 30 minutes, our food was soggy, overdressed and nearly inedible. I ordered the Greek Cesar salad and asked for a side of Greek vinaigrette ( which I did not get) and the salad arrived pre dressed and completely swimming in dressing. I'm not sure why you would pre dress a shredded lettuce salad. The platter was advertised with an image of two separate dips but mine arrived with barely half of one total dip. It also came in a paper box that was falling apart and half of the meat ended up in the bottom of the delivery box. Additionally the Greek salad and the platter came with pita but it was placed in the containers, making it completely soggy by the time it arrived. It's sad bc the food has good flavor but the delivery is just terrible.

This is a cute place tucked away near behind a community center near Avondale. It is a very laid back place with some of the best gyros in town. They also have fun lemonade drinks and some canned alcohol. The service is typically fast and the employees are helpful. You order at the window and they will bring the food to the table. Great place to walk or bike to if you live nearby.

My wife have been meaning to check this place out. Have heard so many good things about this food truck set-up and the reviews are great so today was our first visit. Go to the back of the building as it's hidden. Wow bloody wow.... Talk about a treat. We ordered a bit of everything and what an experience. The food is so authentic. I'll let the photos do the talking but you know a place is good when you leave with a circus in your mouth. Very inexpensive also and the service is top notch. 3 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars from us. You won't be disappointed

Wonderful crisp and filling Gyro! I absolutely loved the quick service. The smiling face that served me, and the clean atmosphere. The table fan was truly a help in the outdoor patio attached to the truck! This is a great choice for quick, authentic food.

I was referred by a friend of mine to try out Platia. I love Mediterranean and Greek food, so this was truly Up my alley. I came to the new location off of Dorchester Rd and Montague. I ordered the Gyro Wrap , added hummus, tzatziki, onions, feta and yummy veggies for a fresh taste ! Everything was 10/10. The chicken had some much flavor. And I also got the peach lemonade 10/10

While we were out walking on King Street, a local recommended Stella's, and I'm so glad they did. We walked over from our Airbnb and immediately loved the space. The restaurant has two U-shaped bars in the center, which is my husband and my favorite place to sit when dining out. We went in with zero expectations and hadn't even looked at the menu beforehand, but everything ended up being incredible. The drinks were fantastic, and our bartender/server was so sweet. Even though we were one of the last couples seated that evening, we never felt rushed and were able to enjoy the meal at our own pace. We ordered the non-breaded calamari and a shrimp dish, and the calamari was honestly the best I've ever had. It was incredibly fresh, perfectly cooked, and the artichokes that came with it were so delicious. Every bite made me happy. We finished with the tiramisu, which our bartender recommended, and it was absolutely outstanding--easily the best tiramisu I've ever had. I'm still dreaming about this meal and would come back in a heartbeat the next time I'm in Charleston.

We were surprised when we walked in and the bar was actually low, with low, spinny bar seats. But it actually was pretty unique and fun! Our server was excellent and gave us great recommendations. We started with the Stella's Kalamari that had sun-dried tomatoes, capers, and artichoke hearts. It was very flavorful and delicious. Something to keep in mind here is that the portions are pretty large. Perfect for splitting dishes and a lot of food for your buck. The stand out dish for me was the spanakopita. It's a flaky, crispy pastry with spinach and feta inside that you dip in tzatziki. What's not to love about all of that?? We splurged a bit on our entree and split the braised lamb shank. The lamb itself was pretty good, but what I enjoyed most was the pasta it comes with. I would maybe suggest trying a different entree. It wasn't my favorite, but it was good. For drinks I got the Cretan, which had cucumber infused gin, lime, rosemary and thyme. It was so refreshing and just what I wanted. I will definitely be coming back here and recommending it to others!

What really separates these falafels is the robust range of spices and complex flavor into the traditional falafel, texture and flavors. The falafel appetizer platter came with four pieces and they were basically gone as soon as they arrived to the table as our entire family ate immediately. Including our pickiest eating family member, who enjoyed theirs too! Exceptional! The halloumi is fantastic and cooked perfectly. It had a nice seasoning on top of it which differentiated it from others I have had before. Everyone at our table enjoyed it. It came with four pieces. The grape leaves were a delight. They had a more robust complex flavor palette than Greek style grape leaves. They were served warm, however they were not dried out like sometimes grape leaves are when they're brought to a table warm. These were beautifully seasoned and had nice moisture to them. The size of each was about that of a ring finger. I can not remember hot many pieces were on the plate but it was more than 4. We ordered the chefs hummus with the pine nuts and pomegranate seeds. It was delicious and a great texture. Pretty much par for the course. My entrée was the Mujadra lentil and rice dish. The flavors were absolutely phenomenal. At first, I was thinking about getting the lentil soup for lunch, but then decided to try under the vegetarian section of the menu the lentil plate. The lentils and rice were placed in a circle mold on the plate. With pretty pieces of salad coming out from four different places. There were pine nuts, chopped, and placed a top of the rice and lentils. Everyone at the table tried my dish and even though we all four have very different favorite flavors and foods everyone agreed it tasted phenomenal and was absolutely delicious. Another family member ordered the lentil soup. They really enjoyed that and they also took some rice off of their spouse's plate and put it in the lentil soup which was a nice pairing. Spouse had the beef kebab cooked, medium rare. The temperature on the kebab for cooking was absolutely perfect! The texture pinkness, and overall cooking was beautifully done to a true medium rare. He had french fries as his side those were just as perfectly cooked as everything else that came out of the kitchen of this restaurant. They were nice and crisp with a good flavor. Three of our four family members tried and agreed they were very nicely done fries crispy all around and not floppy soft. Another family member ordered the Shish Tawook. They were completely in love and smitten with the garlic sauce that came with it. It is divine and tastes beautiful on the chicken. Rice was beautifully cooked as well. The accompaniments of lettuce, pita and oil was delicious. Dessert was baklava. Like every other part of the meal, we had it had a really nice blend of spices and flavor to it. We got it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. All of the desserts on the menu are made in house. One of our family members doesn't tend to like homemade ice cream however she liked this ice cream because she thought the texture was really brilliant for it being made in house at a restaurant. The baklava comes with three pieces. I would love for them to open a restaurant near where we live. If we lived here we would come in 2-3 times a week. Near the end of our meal, we heard some of the restaurant team speaking with another table of regulars. We overheard that they were short staffed that day as someone had called in. We never absolutely would not have guessed that. They seamlessly checked on our table, brought everything out in a timely manner, and none of the plates were hot like they had been sitting at expo waiting to come out to the table for a while. It was wonderful hospitality, with great care and checking in. Our server was a sweet and attentive person. Simply removing plates as we finished and refilling drinks. No one at our table was in want or need of anything as he kept it all well filled. I think the biggest compliment I can give is one family member always has room for dessert. They loved their meal in the appetizer so much they could not have any dessert. Which coming from them a huge dessert person is quite the praise.

It is also a wrap, not a pita. I love pita, but it is neat that they serve wraps too, since most places don't. Others in my friend group ordered rice bowls, which was a really large portion for your money, and one friend's gyro looked solid.
