What in the hoarding situation is going on in here?! Have never been to a platos location like this before. The workers are straight up mean! I called ahead to make sure they were buying because last time I tried to sell stuff, they told me they were not buying. Thought that was odd! So I called ahead and was told there were only 3 people ahead of me if I came in now. I dropped off my bags and waited in the store. They really pressure you to stay otherwise you have to pick them up when they close. I waited 45 mins in store surrounded by the clutter. I didnt even browse because it is so overwhelming. They did buy some of my items so I do recommend them for selling if you have at least an hour to wait. Otherwise I do not recommend. They make you tag your own bags and there is merchandise all over the floor. Definitely a safety hazard. Crazy store especially for a chain.

SO much inventory and they have clearance and days where things are half off. Employees are nice too. It's a good find :) will be coming back!

traded here twice now and both times were way faster than I expected. the staff is friendly and communicative, and the buying process feels efficient instead of drawn out. they have a great selection on the floor, everything is organized well, and the fitting rooms have always been easy to access and available when I needed them. overall it's been a smooth, low-stress experience each visit. definitely one of the better Plato's Closet locations in Austin.

Cowboy boots and leather bag from Plato's Closet!

I came in on a whim to help a friend find a pair of boots for a bachelorette weekend in Austin! As soon as we entered we were greeted warmly by Ken and Sonja who helped us out! They were both patient and accommodating with helping my friend find a pair of boots. I found the cutest two tone vintage leather purse made in El Salvador and well as a pair of 30 DOLLAR COWBOY BOOTS?!?! What a steal! As a California girl I am leaving very pleased! And my friend with a cute pair of snakeskin cowboy boots too!

Clothes

Very nice clean store, has many clothes to choose from wish it was a bit bigger but it's cute

Great selection and place to come for holiday sweaters. I also wanted the cutest Uggs but they didn't have my size

I really hate this place. The stuff they sell is so crappy. And what they offer you for items that you bring is embarrassing.

Alright, so it took me about six years to return to this place because I had some major PTSD from…read morean employee (who still happens to work here unfortunately). However, this time was a lot different and I was able to find the perfect gifts for my friend's birthday as well as fun items for myself. It seems like the selection has remained the same although Atown is keeping up with current and modern trends. For example, there were a lot of ICE based items tucked away as well as current celebrity crushes who are on everybody's minds. The coolest thing I found was a James Talarico candle but other than that, a lot of the items that were for sale were pretty kitschy and I believe they are the same wholesale items I have seen before. I must shoutout the incredibly helpful service from Audrey who went above and beyond to help me find items for my friend's birthday. She was super sweet, and I would've been wandering around the store aimlessly if it wasn't for her direction. Additionally, she even came up with combination gift ideas which was pretty sick. Atown is lucky to have her! I think my PTSD is no longer because of her assistance. Great store, unfortunately high prices. However, no one does it like Atown!

Shana was with me so we…read moreseparated, this place has so much stuff, almost too much, it can be overwhelming and you know you missed things. There are 3 or 4 separate areas you can visit and they have things from locally made earrings and art to coasters, desk plates, rubber ducks of famous people, religious candles with random famous people, funny socks, clothes, and so much more. The staff is friendly and outgoing, they even had a woman at the door greeting you and offering you a hand basket if you wanted or needed one. There were 3 or 4 cashiers and at least one lady walking around greeting you and seeing if they could help. It is pricier then your chain store but the products are cooler, unique, and many times locally made. Things you can't get at other stores or amazon. Like so many places, it's one downside is parking. It is a small lot, if you part in front you basically have to back in to spot blocking traffic or back out into traffic. There is a small side lot that is better but you basically have to 3 point turn out of that spot. Always willing to pay a bit more to support local. We don't get out of our area/comfort zone much but we do love this place. #Supportlocal

The dresses mostly run over $100 and aren't exactly my style. The prints are mostly fun and colorful and almost 60s-70s ish. I found their sterling silver jewelry and earrings to be more interesting. They had lots of unique flower shaped earrings that ranged around $32-44. They also sell kids clothes and gifts. The interior was a little dark. The dresses were mostly made of stretchy or comfy fabric. The dresses are more casual in nature (wrap dresses, summer dresses). They also sold bathing suits for around $80. I don't know if the bathing suits are made in-house.

Dresses I looked at were between $120-$200+ but I it was clear that they used inexpensive materials and not natural materials much at all. The sale items were still overpriced to me too. The sale items I saw in this place go for about $15-$50 max at a cheaper fast to fashion places in Michigan. The styles and trends are on par with every H&M store or blank fast to fashion spot you can think of. Do be aware of what you wrote in your review as the owner is quite sensitive and spiteful and can be mean if your reviews are not glowing towards her store or her products. 3 stars was tantamount to a slap in the face to her. First she had my revised review removed by Yelp because she didn't like my honesty and then she wrote me a nasty personal message telling me I have no style and no design background to be giving her only 3 stars, but she assumed this out of anger and not because she knows anything about me. Well she went down from 3 stars to 1 and if I could have given her 0 stars I would have gladly done so, given the opportunity due to her extremely foul personality. This is her customer service face, do be aware. I can see how Csilla is overly protective and it's abundantly clear how she can get when someone isn't glowing in their reviews. See the other only honest and low review on here. Perhaps Csilla may one day realize that we all have a right to our own opinion, that's the point of Yelp, to allow for honest and frank opinions about a person's experience with a business on here. Am I wrong? Is the credo of Yelp to put false and fabricated niceties of friends and family of the business owner to make it appear they are better than they are? The message may have seemed innocuous to her, but not to me. I hope she keeps her venom and foul personality far away from me. I might add instead of wasting her time replying and making that public scene on here she didn't want, why not work on honing your clothing designs and using better and more natural fabrics or possibly changing your pricing scheme for the quality and fabrics used. I can only guess now after my unpleasant dealings with her that she must have bullied all of her 5 stars into their reviews, that's not the first time I have seen this from a business owner on here. Bullying is not okay on here.

Charm School Vintage is one of my favorite stores in our neighborhood…read more They've carefully curated vintage pieces with western flair (clothing, jewelry, etc). In addition, you'll be able to find items from various eras as far back as the 30s through the 70s. I've seen some stuff there even older than the 30s. Everything is of exceptional quality and condition. Not only do they sell but they buy as well. If you've got vintage wear you'd like to get rid of, try them. They give cash or credit for things they'll buy from folks. As with most stores like this, you'll get more in store credit for your stuff. Fun fact: they've also got a location in Waco.
