I believe the worst thing play Atlantis did was it got rid of golf and go carts. Selection on games here well its minimum. Now the food sucks and the staff acts like they are doing you a favor. In fact I walked in and the manager was getting her hair braided the time was 6:20. Now I don't know why each and every time I come here is like the staff is brand new. But from the looks of its probably poor performance in customer service. The games are expensive if you want customers to spend then don't make every game 4 credits. Its pathetic hey you all know me I tell it like it is. I don't write from the heart and I don't do dumb stuff like faces :)). Lol That is all. First time here today. The staff was very friendly. We played primarily in the bounce house area. The jungle gym was decent but was a bit run down and showing some bare wood which could cause injury. We had to take a break because my kid scratched their back on the wood. The bounce houses are also a little run down. They have some holes in the material but they stand up and are lots of fun. We walked through the arcade. The other reviews were correct- it looked like you could fly through tokens pretty quick and lots of machines were out of order. Poor lighting in the bouncy house area and the games are way too expensive. A 50.00 card was gone within 15 minutes.

It reminds me of Chuck E. Cheese minus the cool mouse. They offer deals on tokens/food during the week. However the prizes are cheap, require a great deal of tickets, and weren't really worth the $ dropped on games to win them.They have mini golf and laser tags that sets them in a part from the national chain. We couldn't partake in laser tag as two families were in the middle of a huge physical fight and staff wasn't intervening. As we exited stage left, the Melvindale police were coming in to clear out/arrest the adults involved. Maybe one day we'll go back during "non birthday party peak hours" and try out all the amenities. read more

It's an OK place. AC unite was either off or very weak. Was hot outside as well as indoors. Place didn't look clean and some of the items for the kids needed maintenance or repair and those that have been repaired/patched were done poorly. First visit and last for me and my kids. Forgot to add that half of their Arcades do not work. They will just take your tokens. I would highly recommend avoiding this place and just go to Chuck E. Cheese where things work. read more

We tried Play Atlantis on a Saturday afternoon at 4 PM for a casual birthday get together. The parking lot was pretty crowded and chaotic since it hadn't been plowed completely. We had an awesome half off groupon for a large 4 topping pizza, pitcher of pop, 2 games of laser tag, 2 games of golf and 30 tokens! The deal is available through May 2014. I placed my order at 5 and was told it would take an hour to get our pizza! I know it was busy but that is nuts, and a worker told me it is even busier sometimes. We had to get some chips to tide our kids over. They gave us a number stand and the pizza was delivered to our table in the back as promised. Fortunately the pizza was extremely good. The waitress brought some plates but no napkins, and there are only napkin dispensers at a few of the tables at the front. I also had to snag a waitress to ask for water to avoid waiting in the long ordering line again. All the staff I interacted with were extremely polite and friendly. Onto the activities: At least 25% of the games were broken and most did not have out of order signs. The games at the back seemed to be worse. Many cost multiple tokens. They have 2 DDR machines plus Crazy Taxi and X-Men! There were four working ticket munchers and a nice selection of prizes. You also have the option of paying a cent a ticket to make up the difference - just buy the stuff! The mini golf was glow in the dark and was pretty cool with an undersea theme. However the entrance is not monitored so there were toddlers and groups just roaming through it while we played. The laser tag was great! All the equipment was in good shape and the course was well maintained. There is also a huge obstacle course and bouncer area but it was $10 a person so we skipped it. We might go back in the summer for go-karts and golf, but for games we will stick to Chuck E. Cheese. read more

Crappy place. Half of the machines didn't work, most were old and in rough shape, a couple ate our tokens. The claw machines, all three didn't close at all, just down and up open claw. The ticket counting machine we used first was counting 1 for every 3 or 4 that went through. Seriously, there are many of these arcade fun places in this area, go to any of them but this one. Avoid this place at all cost! A family member had their 2 yr old's birthday here and it was a nightmare! The employee who was to host the party was over 30 minutes late, 75% of the arcade games were either broken or took your tokens and didn't play. We utilized the GROUPON offer on a Saturday morning at doors opening @ 12 noon. We were there to set up a birthday celebration for a 5 year old. We had 8 boys and two infants which arrived about 1:00 pm. I would recommend this time of day as it was very pleasant and not crowded. The staff was very accommodating and guided us through with tips on the best way to organize the activities our Groupon offered us. The boys had a blast playing laser tag, glow golf, arcade games and the bounce area. I was impressed with how clean the place was. The pizza was excellent, crust made daily and all topping very fresh. We also brought in our own cake which the staff help us with, as we forgot forks and something to cut it with. Plan on about 3 hour to do all the Groupon activities and eat. Which was perfect as it got crowded about 4 pm. We will go back to ride go carts. Children have to be 54 inches tall to drive alone @ $5.00 or can ride double with adult @ $6.00. read more

This is hands down the worst customer service I have ever received. I will never return here and I recommend everyone else steers clear too. I went here a few weeks ago with my family and I think the woman's name was Rose, I don't know if she the owner or one of the managers, but she was blatantly disrespectful to the customers and acted like she did not want to be there or help us out at all. Went in on Sunday night around 6pm. They told us it would be an hour to get a pizza. An hour is a long time to wait to have a pizza delivered to your house, there is absolutely no reason it should take an hour to put a pizza in the oven and bring it to the table. We got subs and a hotdog instead under the impression it would get done sooner. Took almost an hour to get those and that only happened when we went up to the pick up window ourselves to get the food. The subs were overcooked and it was another 10 minutes before my son got his hotdog, again requiring us to pick up the food ourselves. We were offered fries on the house so that was some consolation. Most egregious to me however, is that they do not give free refills on soft drinks. The playscape and bounce equipment are fine and we'll continue to bring our son for that. But I will not be ordering food anymore. read more

We usually take our kids here all the time. The staff is great, the food is decent but i feel the cleanliness, and everything else has gone down hill. They raised their prices on the games, half do not work, and the new ones dont give u tickets. I brought my 2 year old, 8 year old and 12 year old. When we got HOME my 2 year old and 8 year old has a rash. They played on the bouncy house area, very dissatisfied with my last trip. If anyone plans on going to Play Atlantis in Melvindale save your money and your time and go somewhere else. Majority of the games in the arcade are broke and to make things worst they aren't labeled as broke so if you put your coins in that's too bad bc you just lose them. The games that arnt broken just eat coins. I got over 100 coins and at least 25% of them were just eaten by the machine and I never got my play. The employees there don't care so if you plan on going to go kart or mini golf good luck getting someone to help you. Along with that if you need help with a game error they kind of just walk away and leave you hanging. Finally, the games are rigged so you CANNOT win the major prizes. Before you say that I don't know that for sure an employee herself told me there's no way I could win a big prize bc it's set up for you to lose! I took my daughters here to celebrate my oldest winning her math competition and everything went well until I left the table to help my daughter turn her tickets in and in that brief time they threw all my food away. Then when I went to the manager to bring it to her attention she got an attitude with me about the situation! Horrible customer service. This is what happens when you have nothing but kids working! Fun day for the kiddies. My 3 year old loves the inflatables and slides as well as the jungle gym. Air hockey table is fun as well. Arcade games need updating and maintenance though. We started my son's birthday there on September 2nd. We walked in right at opening time. Our first surprise was the hit. We were hit with a smell that was a combination of feet, musty, and mildew. We have been to play atlantis a few times just to take my daughter there for fun. Well she decided she wanted her birthday party there. Her party was on a Sunday from 3-5pm pm. The girl who took our reservation informed me we could arrive 15 minutes early to set up and decorate the room we reserved. We arrived at 245 and a girl informed us we could not have the room we reserved so we were very upset!! Well turns out they mixed up our paper work and we ended up in the room anyway but not until 320pm! So we had to rush the entire party because they charge a 50$ if you stay after your time! Also the pizza was delicious but all the wrong toppings!! I was finising up helping my daughter open her presents when their poor excuse for a manager walked in the party room and rudely said we need to get out that we were already 10 minutes late. Well I informed him how his employees were late getting us in the room so yes we have extra time. Every employee I talked with that day was extremely rude and not helpful. Also they didn't take any money off our bill for the pizza. I will NEVER BE BACK!! We spent a lot of money there and were treated poorly. Hire some employees that do their job right . We took the kids to Play Atlantis to play at the bounce area and the kids loved it! tons to do, food was quite good and prices were very reasonable. I would never go to another Chuck E Cheese knowing this place is so close. Will be back again very soon! read more
