Although off season, there was a vendor fair at the convention center so it was very busy. We stopped for a lunch. The pork on the Mac and cheese was good, but the Mac n cheese was like soup and had zero flavor. We specifically asked if the pierogis were deep fried or sautéed and was assured they were not deep fried. Well they were absolutely deep fried and dry. The patty melt was on barely toasted bread, not grilled. The mozzarella sticks were good. We really enjoyed this place! It was the first restaurant we went to since COVID and we were glad we decided to sit and eat. The staff were all wearing masks, seating people a good distance apart (outside at the time), and walking around cleaning tables and making an obvious effort to be as hygienic as possible. As a patron I really appreciated seeing this. Our food was really good too. Loved the oysters and Buffalo cauliflower bites... so good. I had some kind of tuna sandwich thing (I can't exactly remember now)... but it was so good! My husband had some steak that he enjoyed a lot also. The seating outside had a wonderful view of the ocean and the staff were friendly and attentive. It was a great experience. This is a new restaurant that was formerly The Anchor's Bend. The layout is still the same, they still have the beach bar which is nice. The drink menu looks the same but they've changed the food menu. I tried the filet mignon sandwich. I really wanted to like this sandwich but it tasted bland, something was missing. It came with a side of carrot slaw and pickles. We ordered a side of fries which were really good. I'd probably come back to have some drinks because the view is nice. Listen, the main thing this place has going for it is solid food and a great location and view. But the service leaves much to be desired! We were a big party of seven people. Our server took our full order (drinks *and* food) all at once, without writing anything down or running through the order to confirm before putting it in. We were all very impressed at the time. We were significantly less impressed when our food came and two people had missing meals. I can absolutely understand how the server messed up -- he didn't write anything down, there were a lot of us, and the music was pretty loud. But then... maybe write orders down? Or confirm before you go put everything in? The server never came by to check on us after the food came, so we had to flag down a food runner and note our two missing items. When the missing food came 20 minutes later (after everyone else was finished eating), there was no apology or acknowledgement that there had been a mistake or that we'd had to wait. We were ready to just leave and be done until it came time to pay. We gave the server two cards and asked for an even split. He returned the cards to us... and he had run one card twice and one not at all. When I tracked him down and raised the issue, once again, no apology. I suggested that he take off one or two of the food items that had been forgotten, and his response was, "...but you got them eventually, right?" He fixed the card issue, but did not comp or adjust the total for the meal in any way. I get that it was a busy weekend day, but a sincere apology from the server for either of the two issues would have gone a long way. I wanted to start off by saying that I'm glad this place has outdoor seating and beach seating that allows dogs. They even gave the bigger dogs that we were with bowls with some water. The place was just about empty aside and our drink order for a glass of wine and a Bloody Mary took a very long time. When I finally arrived I was told that they did not have the wine on their menu actually in stock so the took the liberty of substituting some House hooch instead without even asking me. We decided not to order any more drinks and to get out of there as soon as we could, and when I asked for the check, I proceeded to pay in cash with $100 bill and was told by the waitress that we don't have change for 100 so I was forced to get up out of the restaurant and go walk around the arcade finding somebody to make change for $100, what a horrible experience I won't be back ever but I'm sure this place won't last long with service and staff treating customers like crap! First the good - the view is really nice and the service is quick! The rest: I ordered the Poke - presentation was fair though not at all traditional. Cucumbers were thickly sliced and mushy. The tuna was supposed to be 'fresh' but after one bite I sent it back - fishiest tasting tuna ever: perhaps safe to cook - certainly not ok to serve raw. I was reminded that Poke is raw despite the fact that I was wearing a shirt from the sugar mill on Oahu that clearly said in large letters 'Waialua' - that condescension was enough to prompt the review. The server completely ignored our table the entire night even when we asked for food and service. And it was intentional. The bartender assisted us instead. We had the Charlie (fish sandwich), barbecued pork sandwich, and filet mignon sandwich. Fries weren't on the menu, but we asked and got an order to share. All were well-made.
