For starters it was burnt,on top and when looking under the crust...again burnt almost black. We ordered a 14"sausage,mushrooms,black olives,onions,and pineapple pizza... Plenty of mushrooms, about 3 pieces of sausage and 6 pineapples pieces and having onion as their free topping...very little of onion as well. A beautiful thin crispy crust that still has some doughy feel when you bight into it. The sauce is a pretty standard red sauce. I know their pizza is terrific but I wasn't hungry for pizza so I ordered their spaghetti with meat sauce. This was an online order to take out. The spaghetti was very average... a little too salty actually. It was my belief that pasta orders came with a salad but I didn't get a salad. In the online order process I was asked for my choice of salad dressing and I did get the ranch dressing but not the salad. First time eating at Cranky Pat's... the food was excellent! We had 10 people in the group and everyone enjoyed their food. I had the lunch buffet, the salad bar was fresh, the pizza was excellent. You have to enjoy thin crust to enjoy the pizza... which I do! People at the table ordered, a Sausage Sandwich (very good), we also had the mushroom & cheese curds appetizer (excellent), someone else ordered a margherita pizza (which they assumed they'd have left overs but they were wrong), they said it was one of the best margherita pizzas they have had. If you haven't gone, you must try. Our experience was don't plan on it being a quick lunch but it's worth the wait! The pizzas are thin crust cooked to crispy. Very good and yummy. Family is f four enjoyed two 12" pizzas. Service was excellent. Music was modern and kept at a volume that allowed easy conversation. One warning, if you like crispy crust only, then know that the specials with double toppings will cause the crusts to be soggy after 20 minutes. They are crispy when you get them, but the sheer amount of ingredients will eventually soften the crusts. We ordered a pepperoni and it stayed crispy the whole hour. Order to your preference. While in town I was going to do lunch at a different place place when at the last minute I took another look on yelp and saw the pizza pictures, this is why I post pictures on yelp because a picture can get you in the door like it did me today. Serving the pizza recipe since 1955 is also a good sign for the pizza restaurant, so the story says. The pizza size options are strange because you have a choice of 12 or 14 inches, small and a medium from other places so no large pizza option here. I ordered the 14 with cheese, sausage and pepperoni on a thin cracker crust, the only crust which is good because that's what I like. First off the pizza smelled so amazing so I knew it was going to be good because you can't fake that, it looked good also. The pizza was very tasty but slightly salty with that crispy thin crust. I really liked how the the flavorful sausage and pepperoni that just complemented the whole pizza, it's definitely a quality flavor that makes them stand out. Ordered two large pizzas to go. Was told it would be 30 minutes. Showed up at 30 min. Was told it would be 10 more minutes. Got the pizza and headed home. Opened pizzas to discover they burnt the edges of the pizza. Cut around the edges and served up slices. (Sliced in mini squares for some insane reason.). All three of us were appalled at the taste. We were visiting for AirVenture and had arrived late, so we were just looking for a place that was open, frankly. As soon as we saw the band, we knew we were in the right place. As always, a person will never leave Cranky Pat's hungry! Instead of my usual delish pizza, I had the cheese ravioli with meat sauce; it was fresh, hot and did not disappoint. Salad bar was fully stocked but the soup was empty - not that I had any room for a cup of soup! Our server was very attentive and always made sure our drinks were refreshed. Since they put in the bar area, it has been a great addition. Although the main dining area hasn't changed, I don't care! We got a double servings of cheddar cheese curds and a Pat's Specialty thin crust pizza loaded with two extra toppings (black olives on one half and anchovies on the other half). Cheese curds were ok. Pizza was a bit salty to my taste. But anchovies did make it even saltier. Because there were so many toppings on the pizza the crust wasn't crispy to my taste. Our family has long been a fan of cranky pats. We've been going here for decades. I came to visit from out of state and we chose cranky pats on a Saturday night. I called to make a reservation and though, the woman I spoke to on the phone was very nice, she seemed unable to give me clear information - how long the wait currently was, how many people were on the waitlist and if they took reservations???? She said the wait could be anywhere from 30 minutes and up to two hours. Decided to drive over & arrived at 5;30ish. The wait list was short but the confusing thing was that the dining rooms were almost completely empty but with reserved signs. We waited for somewhere between 45 minutes and an hour and there was no one seated at these tables. It was a complete waste of business and turn of tables to let these tables sit empty for an hour and until a specific time. I will also mention that I had my 95-year-old mother-in-law waiting with us. We were finally shown to a table and our server and the host were very nice, and the pizza was delicious. It seems the managers may need to address how to serve customers and turn tables more effectively. Great pizza! Next time we will get it to go. read more
