I went in here for dinner yesterday night. There was this female bar tender. I go in there she ask what I want to drink I order a nice margarita. I'm a black woman btw. There's a white man down the bar from me and I see he has chips and salsa. Usually it comes with it, so when she brings the margarita out she doesn't bring me chips and salsa. Juan is the best manager ever. He made our meal great and makes this restaurant the best there is. Our waiter wouldn't allow me to have avocados in my quesadilla. We got up to leave. Juan asked what the trouble was, told me it would be no problem to add some of what I wanted in my meal, and saved the day. He is an excellent leader and runs the place perfectly. My family and I dined here on October 30. I inadvertently left my purse and immediately turned around within 3 minutes and sent my husband in to retrieve the purse. The table had not even been cleaned of our dishes. They went through my purse and stole $100 and removed my AirPods from the case. The case was still inside the purse which is why I didn't notice they were missing until I went to use them again and it says they are at Norfolk Premium Outlets. We came here after shopping with the kids. We had originally planned to go to a different restaurant after shopping and noticed this one walking around so we thought why not. We have four kids and this seemed like the easier/cheaper option than our original plans at a Korean restaurant. The restaurant is very clean and everything was new. The bathrooms were also very clean. The food was very bland, particularly the meat. And that was consistent with everyone's meal. The best tasting item on the table was my one year olds quesadilla. I had the Burrito Mex and my husband had the pork Carnitas, neither one was very good. My daughter had the kid burrito and taco which she states the ground beef tasted like Vienna sausage. My son had the same thing and we couldn't get him to eat more than a few bites. The location was convenient, other than that I have no other reason why I would ever return here. read more

I had a chance to do a pickup order from here. We ordered chicken tacos, chicken fried rice and shrimp taco meals. The food was fresh and was cooked well. We made our order without dairy so it took away their delicious cheese that I love but the food was still good nonetheless. Everything was packed in the perfect containers and They included chips and salsa. Online stated that they offer curbside pickup but the store stated that they do not so we went inside to pick up. I've dined here many times but had a bad experience today so naturally, will share. We visited on a Sunday after a little shopping. We learned from our server (no where written) that they didn't serve lunch on the weekends. Ridiculous money grab in my opinion, but when I asked the manager he said he'd let us order lunch this one time. But don't worry, we still way overpaid. We ordered a jumbo Texas margarita, which to me means a big marg with a extra shot. The marg was normal sized, $15. The extra shot was $10. A $25 margarita?!? Meh. I really don't know why we keep giving this place a chance, but we did it again today. And once again, they failed miserably. I got the shrimp tacos and there was much unnecessary stuff inside of it, that the shrimp was completely lost. We also got a tostada and it was tasteless. Anyways we sat near the bar area at a table. Bartender/waiter was attentive and provided good service. Came here for lunch. We ordered the Pina Loka and it was delish. Very spacious and has a nice sized bar for eating and drinking unlike some of the other Plazas. The complementary chips and salsa were good as always. I had the taco salad (definitely recommend for a first time Plaza goer). It's very simple and to the point and you can add or take out what you want. My only issue was the service. It is probably pretty good Mexican if you are white and Southern. Another words if you're white Southern friends will probably love it and that's probably who they cater to most. So many who really like this restaurant don't know what authentic Mexican is The tortilla chips are absolutely wonderful the salsa is touch of heat and tasty. The seem to be freshly made Crisp and hot temperature. You're in for a real treat if you get the made at your table guacamole. You can have some specific request that are easily done for you. As for the food it looks like it's just heat it up tortillas of either corn or flour and they put some meat in the middle of it and Bingo you have Mexican , well not a real Mexican food. An enchilada is not a rolled corn tortilla with some meat in the center. Taco Bell puts out a better taco than they did. The taco came with ground beef a smidgen of lettuce no cheese no tomatoes no taco sauce don't get the taco just go to Taco Bell. An enchilada should be baked in a dish and Not just rolled up a warm tortilla. The ground beef was sort of Mexican flavored that's as close as it gets from Mexico. My wife had a chimichanga and again it's something that looks like it's been slapped together just before it served. My wife liked the rice I thought it was pretty good. The refried beans were excellent. Service seemed a little slow and our waiter disappeared and seem to have something on his mind other than the customer at his table. I would not recommend this place nor would I say don't go. Just be preferred you're gonna get Mexican food maybe a step up but not a big step up from Taco Bell. That is not a slam on Taco Bell.
