Zero spots on my driveway before and the next day spots where I was parked. My car is new straight, from a dealership and I had only been driving it for less than six months, so I took it back to the dealership to have them inspect it and they said it was from over torquing the drain plug, and replacement was the only option to stop the leak because the plug was stripped. Apparently, you have to replace more than just a simple plug when that happens, so I had to pay $1000 out of pocket with the labor! Zero issues before, as my car is new, and $1000 plus the price of the oil change for trusting this Valvoline for my oil change. I called Valvoline corporate and they said that they have tools that are designed to stop over torquing, but obviously that's not true in every situation because my car was certainly an exception. My friend who used to manage the Valvoline said it did still happen occasionally and it's not fool proof. Corporate basically told me I had no proof it was them. Why would I have no oil dripping in the previous 6 months and the next day oil in my driveway?! The dealership even wrote on my print out receipt that it was obvious what happened, but corporate said yeah, but you don't have proof. How else can I? So, basically, I paid $1100 for an oil change at this Valvoline. Obviously NEVER AGAIN!

I get very anxious when something goes wrong or I don't understand something about my car and the staff at Jimmy's is always patient and gracious to answer and explain, even if I ask silly questions. (And I do ask silly questions - a lot of them.) Jimmy's mechanics keep my car in good shape and help me have peace about its upkeep and maintenance. Jimmy's staff does great mechanical work and they really care about their customers. The Customer Service reps (at the desk) are really great, they work with me regarding appointments and the repairs that I need. I am so thankful to be a Jimmy's Automotive customer for several years and I'll keep coming back. I recommend them highly.

We said "we just need it running". One week later, we get a thorough list of things to fix, including "polishing the headlights" all with a sum total of more than we paid for the car ($4500 on a 2004 car that was worth $4000). That should have been our clue to go elsewhere, but we trusted them and moved forward with the critical repairs, unaware of any risks. In their defense, they did say it could also be the gasket, but we do not know what that means or what it costs. After spending $2000 we learn that yes, the gasket was blown and that would cost $3000 to fix. (meaning, if they had their way, we would have spent $7500 on a car that was worth $4000.) If we had been made aware of this potentially LARGE risk, we would not have approved of the initial repairs, we would have just sold the car for parts. But instead we were stuck with paying $2k for a car that wouldn't run or adding another $3k for a car that still would need a few things. They claim to excel in customer service; however I do not feel confident in their motives. To me, good customer service involves working together with the customer to find a solution that makes the most sense, and helping the customer make the best decision while understanding the risks. It's not selling a cake for 2000 people when you're only expecting 50 guests. We took the car elsewhere to complete the repair, not because of the price, but because we didn't feel we could trust them to provide information for us to make a decision appropriate for the age of our car.
