The restaurant appeared to be run very well; the manager was visible and working and staff were motivated and busy. Attended an X-Mas arts and crafts market in the courtyard behind Plaza Mariachi and decided to grab some lunch while we here. Th restaurant has two dining areas with a large bar included in one and a courtyard for outside dining on warmer days. The space is fairly large and fairly boring. My wife ordered the chili rellano of the lunch menu and enjoyed it, it was certainly 'rellanoed" because a flood of cheese covered the plate when she cut into it. I had a taste and demanded another. My Quesadilla Especial was filled with chorizo, beans, cheese and pico. It was the smallest and thickest quesadilla I've ever encountered. The taste was there but the execution was poor. The cheese really needs to hold the ingredients together.inside a quesadilla to make it work - they could have taken some of my wifes cheese and put it on here. We recently dined at Char Bar and noticed Plaza Mariachi in the same development. Since we love to support local restaurants, we decided to give it a try this past Tuesday. Although many other Yelpers have given this restaurant five star reviews, we left underwhelmed. When we were seated, there was a bowl of warm chips and a small decanter of cold salsa. We ordered the white cheese queso to start and it was runny. The house margaritas were very common, nothing special. My wife ordered three tacos, that looked great, but were bland and only slightly warm. My shrimp dish got a passing grade. Literally everything comes out fast, which makes one wonder how much is prepared fresh for each customer. The restaurant has an extensive menu of starters and entrees. I love supporting local restaurants, I especially love it when these restaurants are new to the public. These guys just opened in the Parkville area and we needed additional restaurants in our neighborhood. We had the quesadillas and nachos, they did a great job with both. We also went on a Saturday night and they did a great job of keeping up with the heavy flow of customers through their doors. My only real complaint was the noise. there is a lot of echo going on with all the conversations being had. it was kind of hard to have a conversation of our own. I think I will be back for takeout for sure. read more

I liked this place and will be back. I had the pollo Michoacán and it was very flavorful. Chips and salsa (salsa was ok). My fiancé had the street tacos (one of each) and he said didn't take as authentic Mexican however they were good. The restaurant has a good ambiance. First time here and I think I found my new favorite spot. This place definitely needs some more exposure so that it can survive in this newly developed area of town. Everything is clean and new. Super friendly and great service. Quick service. The food had a lot of good flavor and you can see by the lettuce and tomato that everything is chopped fresh daily. Visited this restaurant for the first time on a Tuesday evening. I got the burrito Sancho to go. The staff was very pleasant and kind. The restaurant atmosphere is bland. I knew immediately the food was not going to be good when it took five minutes for it to arrive. This means the food sits in warming bins. It tasted like it. The pork was very chewy. My jaw got a work out. The price was very reasonable. However, I would prefer to pay more and wait longer for freshly made food. Sorry to post. This one is not worth the effort to even post pics. If you are in the mood for modestly priced, highly mediocre Mexican food. This is the place. There is way too much competition in this town to preform food at this level. Yes, they are still building character and environment, but the place is always busy and clean. For those who do not like queso blanco, that is thin, you are crazy! Their queso is thin with a hint of spice. It's always hot and delicious. This is a strong must. I always order a Mexican Flower [this is essentially a sangria frozen margarita swirl] but do not drink it if you are driving ‍[it's not pictured bc I was too ‍‍ to take one]. They typically have very good deals on all their alcohol selection. Occasionally, some of the servers are "lacking" in the personality department, but the taste of the food makes up for it. Just moved here from OKC and this is the local Mexican Restaurant near my house. Very good food and the place seems to stay packed all weekend. Very good sign. So far I've been twice and got the same thing both times. It was excellent each time. I don't recall the dish name, but it's basically rice with meat and cheese. Very flavorful and a large portion. I have two issued; our meals were brought out 7 minutes apart, and it is extremely noisy. I turned off my hearing aides and it was still loud. The place was about half full. We decided to try a new place for National Margarita Day! Unfortunately they couldn't make skinny margaritas. We sat in the bar and our service was amazing! I didn't get a photo of our nachos but they were delicious! They had nice chunks of fresh avocado and roasted fresh jalapeño. The chips were light and crispy and the salsa was good. I ordered some hot sauce to mix in to give it more of a kick. I liked the fried taco with fresh pico on the top. I definitely prefer a little more seasoning on my ground beef. I will skip the enchilada next time. Once again thought it was pretty bland. I will return and try the server recommended burrito at some point in hopes of raising my stars. read more

Food was very good. I had the 4 street tacos (one of each) with black beans. The black beans were served in a tiny little tortilla shell topped with shredded cheese. Really cute presentation. Now for the tacos, my fav was the Al pastor while not the best I've had it was good. The carnitas were also very tasty with a crispy texture. The chicken and steak were good, but rather bland. The highlight of this dish were the two sauces served with the tacos a green and orange. Both with some great flavor and just the right amount of heat. Next up dessert....the flan was amazing and different more fluffy and cake like than the normal custard variety. The atmosphere was great for families but I'm anxious to go back and check out the patio in warmer weather. read more

If you come here see if their doing there newest dish which is so nee they haven't put a final name on it, but its a boiled meat and dipping sauce which right not is in taco form, with loads of cheese snd meat in a taco , sides of cilantro, onion, rice, green sauce. And of course the dipping sauce, which is like getting a french dip sandwich on steroids They have plans to try it out as a appetizer as well, maybe even a burrito style I cant see it going bad no matter how they style it. read more

I did eat over half of it, honestly I was hungry for dinner and this conquered me. the shrimp in this burrito is not your itty bitty popcorn shrimp. there are nice sized shrimp in this. We are Mexican food lovers and always looking for new places to try locally. This place is right up the street from our neighborhood so we were exited for it to open. To say it was a disappointment is an understatement. The meals were just okay.... But service was super slow and awkward... they strung along delivery of the dishes so it was awkward at the table. Husband finished almost his entire meal before the last dish arrived. And the chips are NASTY and tasted rancid and burnt... the oils they cook them in must have gone bad or something. We tried it twice and same experience. I really hope they've improved.. might give another try since I see some other decent reviews... but I can't still taste that aftertaste of those nasty chips. read more

We love Mexican food but hate to admit that we prefer it not be super authentic. I really judge a place by the chips/salsa, rice and margs. We had a great first impression and loved the chips (thin and crispy) and salsa (fresh and flavorful). We also were very pleased and totally enjoyed the food and the top-shelf margarita was also very good. This place was a REAL disappointment. After a wait that was a lot longer than it had to be, we were seated at a stained table where we again were offered the chance to wait for something ... anything ... to happen. Then someone dropped off a basket of chips (probably the best part of the meal) and a 6 ounce bottle of "salsa". Then more waiting, till our order taker paused long enough to get our drink requests, dashing away before we had a chance to order the cheese dip. We should have left it at that, but we tried again to order the dip when he brought the drinks. We succeeded that time, and really wished we hadn't. That which was brought was more "cheese-like, bland, tasteless, thin white broth" than anything else. We ordered three relatively uncomplicated dishes ... two entree salads and a 2 item combination plate. Time passed and passed and passed and my salad was delivered. Time passed and passed and passed and ... well, you get my drift ... until I asked the order taker (on one of his rare swings by our table) if he could possibly check on the status of the two missing dinners. He left. He did not return with an answer. You're getting tired of reading this and I'm tired of writing. The second entree arrived 3-4 minutes later, and the final one 6-8 minutes after that. None of the entrees was worth the wait ... OR the cost. There was literally nothing about tonight's experience that in any way makes any of us want to return. So we won't. Our server was nice and checked in with us a couple of times and cleared the table at the appropriate times but everyone else that works here seemed to be preoccupied with their phones or wandering around aimlessly.
