DO NOT USE PLEASANT HOLIDAYS OR OTHER TRAVEL AGENTS ASSOCIATED WITH THEM!!! If you are working with a travel agent make sure they don't try to use Pleasant Holidays to obtain a better rate. We had booked a trip to Italy through a travel agency and not even a week later had to cancel the trip as a family member became ill. Per our contract signed with Worth the Trip Travel we could cancel and get a full refund. However, a night hotel stay was booked through Pleasant Holidays unknown to us and they refused to refund the money for the one night stay. Pleasant Holidays refused to talk to us and the owner of Worth the Trip Travel refused to work with us and provided other information that wasn't in the contract. I even called the hotel itself and they said they were more than happy to refund the money but it was booked through a third party (Pleasant Holidays) who had to do it. In the end we had to eat the one night hotel stay. Our recommendation is don't use these travel agencies...you are better off researching online yourself by reading reviews and book a stay that you can enjoy and manage yourself without added headaches and fees!!!!! read more

The breakfast orientation on our first full day in Honolulu was well organized. They had us meet at the Hard Rock Cafe at 7:30 AM probably so we could book some tours with them that day. However, we have been to Hawaii many times and always had good thoughts about their vacation packages being reasonably priced and all inclusive. We went through our travel agent, Galaxy Travel and our agent got the package from Pleasant Holidays which included hotel, airfare and car rental. We were happy with the hotel and airfare, however the car rental company was the pits but that is in a separate review. The breakfast buffet was good which included everything but fruit. It was a beautiful location and when we arrived we took a photo at the Hard Rock Cafe which we paid $20 for. Then when we were led to our seats, Hawaiian performers from the Polynesian Cultural Center were performing on stage. What a pleasant surprise and the speaker, Jackie was very thorough in explaining everything about the tours and they kept the presentation to an hour. If you are new to the islands, it will be worth your while to consider some of the tours they present for Oahu. read more

Book with a travel agent that is contracted with pleasant Holiday. If I could give a negative review I would do a -100 to start with. Did a trip for 27 family members. All couples, but two single guys. We book to the Dominican Republic. Staying at the Majestic Elegance. Everyone from the start had two opinions..ocean view or pool view. We had two with ocean view and the rest had pool view. I paid extra to have three room with pool view, but ground level. We'll time to check in and two rooms got ocean the rest garden view. So to make it short, pleased Holiday is nothing short of a scam company that takes your money and doesn't deliver on what you pay for. My suggestion is DONT USE THIS COMPANY! Book it yourself!!! We weren't able to get tickets to Pearl Harbor on their actual website so decided to use pleasant holidays at our hotel. The only tour available was the most expensive one. We were given our tickets the day of on the bus. We were given an 11 o clock time slot. By the time we got to Pearl Harbor and toured everything we did not have enough time to tour the whole USS MissourI before we had to get back on the bus to go home. Planned a trip to Oahu to see the Arizona Memorial 5 months in advance - if not for the Memorial we would have traveled elsewhere. That was the top destination on the list. The night before our 7am tour we received a voicemail that said they didn't get tickets but would give us a $10 refund on our over $100 tour. What a scam! Do not I repeat do not book a trip with this travel company. They are very unprofessional and inconsiderate. I booked an Hawaii trip with AAA who later I found out they use Pleasant Holidays to book attractions, transportation etc.... I arrived in Hawaii on 7/8/21 I was told by my travel agent that the transportation would be at the airport when we arrived all I had to do was go to the designated area and give them the transportation voucher. Well I go to the designated area like I was told to do and I see a lot of transportation vehicles, however none was the company that was listed on my voucher. Keep in mind we just flew almost 12 hours with transfers and a layover in Phoenix it hot as crap once we arrived in Hawaii and there's no transportation to the hotel. I called not only the transportation service 6 times after waiting 30 minutes constantly being told be "patient we're trying to get a car to now" my anger is at a 15 by this time. I then try to reach out to the travel agent and was unsuccessful due to the time difference. Finally after waiting almost an hour another cab driver who I believe felt bad for my daughter because it was so hot ended up bringing us to the hotel. My second was worse than the first day. Again I arrived at the designated place that was listed on my attraction for Pearl Harbor voucher and low and behold the voucher had the incorrect location. So about 45 minutes after waiting the attraction company called me to let me know they couldn't wait any longer. I tried explaining what the address was listed on the voucher and was told it was nothing they could do I had to contact my travel agent who booked it. Basically they left my daughter and I. Now my anger is at 100. I called the travel agent at AAA snapping and she trying to explain it was Pleasant Holidays who gave her the information for all the attractions. For quite some time now, my boo's been wanting to go to Hawaii since one of her friends is in the Peace Corps there. I've been avoiding it like the plague because I knew it would cost an arm and a leg to go there. Plus, the idea of overpaying to go to a really touristy spot really isn't my thing. When one of her friends sent her an email offer that they got through travelzoo, I looked at it with skepticism. I thought it would be a ripoff, and too good to be true. I after more poking and prodding, I took another look at the Pleasant Holidays deal they were offering. Plane tickets, hotel room, and car for a low price? So doing the math, I'm thinking I can get myself a great deal by going through priceline, and buying my own tickets... boy was I wrong. The deal Pleasant Holidays got me was the same as the tickets I would have paid if I bought the tickets through United myself, only the room and car was pretty much free. We went ahead and booked the cheapest deal at the Sheraton Princess K. in downtown Waikiki. The trip would be a few months down the road. I didn't get a car because of the $25 per day parking fee. A few months later, I was thinking that we could get around using public transit. My boo kept nicely telling me (without nagging) that we needed a car, and everyone else recommends a car. For months I've been putting off planning this trip. So when the week right before our arrival, I look and read about Hawaii... oh crap, you really do need a car. So I email PH and they told me to give them a call, and they'll include a car for free, we just pay the $23 for taxes. I looked up rental prices for a convertible, and they were like a $150 per DAY, so I asked them how much would they charge if I got the upgrade, and they said they could get it for $137 total. That's a great deal. I would advise anyone going through them though to be wary of the barrage of advertisements for events and tours. You can get most of these for free or cheaper if you are doing it yourself. The morning after your arrival, you are invited to a free breakfast and island orientation. The orientation is pretty informative about the islands and Hawaiian history, but I feel like it was kind of a hard sale for the various events, like the polynesian cultural center, and other watersports activities. Apparently they think that for every activity, you need to have a guided tour, and that only they will get you a great deal. Overall, to sum up the trip: hotel and airfare - $1200 convertible upgrade - $137 spending precious time with my boo - priceless. read more

I have read several terrible reviews here - wow, people were really angry! - which surprised me because that didn't match our experience at all. We were very pleased with Pleasant Holidays, we saved money booking through them, and the niceties of lei greetings and airport transport were appreciated. And now let me address the breakfast orientation at the Hard Rock Cafe. Let's face it - most of us have been in sales at one time or other, and we know how this works, right? Free breakfast = opportunity to sell you tours. So if you don't want to arrange any tours, don't go. But here's the thing: our food was plentiful and tasty (and not just a cheap powdered egg buffet!), the presentation from Cousin K about local history was great, and the Hawaiian music and dance while we ate were excellent. I have been to Hawaii many, many times, and lived here long ago. We opted to go to the orientation for our guests' benefit, but I too learned a lot. Have an open mind, listen and learn. We booked a next-day Pearl Harbor tour and were very happy with the tour company that Pleasant suggested. As crowded as Waikiki was - I have never before seen it so crowded - it was great to nail down one must-do activity, the Pearl Harbor tour. So wing the rest of it. Relax. Don't take this so seriously and don't bring your stress to your vacation. I would book through Pleasant Holidays again and I'm not afraid of their free breakfast orientation. :) read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. Beware- this company poses as a "concierge" at the front of many hotels in Waikiki. I had them book a private charter that they inadvertently cancelled (without telling us). 6 of us got to the marina only to find an empty boat. When we spoke to the "concierge" (actually Pleasant Holidays)- they spent more time trying to figure out a way that they weren't to blame (they were- the captain confirmed the accidental cancellation was received on his end- not ours) than to try to help us fix the problem. They were unprofessional and completely unapologetic and unhelpful. When booking at your hotel concierge MAKE SURE it isn't Pleasant Holidays. You will regret it mid you book with them. read more

Just returned from Maui on 12-7-21. We paid for an airport lei greeting. Well when we got off the plane the young lady was holding up a sign with my name. She handed us 2 flower leis and walked away lol. No pictures at all and even with Covid everyone could have worn a mask, a big big rip off. Get to the front desk of the Sheraton and 1st thing they say is we can be upgraded for $40 a night. Well if we wanted an upgrade we'd have done that when we made the reservation, so that was tacky and the gentleman seemed upset we didn't take an upgrade so not sure if we got as good of an ocean front room we paid for. read more

Note: As far as flight/hotel we got we were promised at a reasonable price what follows is my review of everything else... I am writing three days in to my first trip to Hawaii EVER. I actually proposed to my girlfriend yesterday (Valentine's Day) on top of Diamond Head. I am having an amazing time and LOVE this place... So far everything has been PERFECT... EXCEPT FOR THE MISERABLE HOUR I SPENT AT PLEASANT HOLIDAY'S "FREE BREAKFAST"... To quote the Deacon from 'The Wire': "Nuthin' costs more than free..." They offer a shuttle so you don't have to walk ONE WHOLE BLOCK. This is because the average age of our group was about 80 years old. Being that we're all in our 30's we walked (ok I'm 40, so what?!?) The 'free breakfast' was what looked like a McDonald's hashbrown, a slice of ham, pineapple, an airline quality croissant, and what I believe was scrambled eggs... No substitutions, no seconds. It got worse after the food... A lady then talked for 45 minutes straight TELLING and I wanna stress TELLING us that there will be: no talking, no questions, no cel phones, and NO GETTING UP FOR ANY REASON. Unless you haven't turned your vouchers. In which case GET UP NOW AND TURN IN YOUR VOUCHERS (I'm assuming this how they get reimbursed for the 'meal') She then tells us this is the height of tourist season (February?!?) and that EVERYTHING is sold out and that the only way to get ANY TOUR to ANYTHING in the whole friggin' state (not just Oahu) is through this company. When the presentation is (mercifully) over people come to your table and pretty much bully you into buying tour packages and of course (everyone all together now) TIME SHARES!!! It really looked like their bread and butter is bullying senior citizens. It was pretty sad... I can't tell you how it ends, cuz we got up left. I can tell you this whole thing started at 7:30 AM and by 8:45 they were still going strong. The presentation was on the top floor of shopping mall that was not opened for business and the escalators down were CLOSED. Making it pretty tough to leave (especially if you are elderly).... I should also add that we won a bogus 'door prize' for an all day hiking tour that our group was clearly the only one even remotely capable of doing. We got one (1) free admission for a 50+ dollar a person tour, that in order to redeem three of us would've had to pay... Some guy who looked like a WWII vet won the 'free' Pearl Harbor tour... There is not one thing they offer that you cannot buy for yourself (and probably cheaper). The food sucked. And I REALLY resented the way we were talked to. I'm on vacation, not the first day of catholic school... And to top it all off ever since that breakfast my fiance is constipated!!! I'm off now for more adventures in this amazing island paradise... Pleasant Hawaiian Holidays - BUST The best savings I could have had were my 4 wasted hours back. The Experience This began with a pick up at way too early of an hour to be on vacation. Taken to a mall, I was hurriedly INSISTED to remove my purse and other personal items to take a picture with fake lei that had to be returned immediately. **more to come on this** I was taken to a place where, the only way they would take us back, was if I went to Hilo Hattie's. I call this quid-pro-quo. "We will give return you to where we picked you up from, but only after you come with us first." When I respectfully declined, they could not even advise how to get walk back to my hotel. Fortunately it wasn't too far, and I found our way. As I was leaving, I was pressured into buying a cheap picture of me in the fake lei. At this point I had said "No Thank You" so many times, I felt like a broken record. Of course this was followed up with a, "But don't you want to remember your wonderful time in Honolulu?" I said abruptly, "STOP!" and continued on my way. Again, I would have had the same transportation results. Additionally, my time was wasted on a over-pressure-sales administration with cheap food, at too early of an hour. If I go back to Hawaii, I do not want to deal with "Pleasant Hawaiian Holidays" again. There was NOTHING pleasant about it. The Summary * "Full Breakfast." That "full breakfast" was disgusting: Powdered eggs, ham tossed on top of all the food that might have been Vegetarian/Muslim/Jewish friendly, greasy croissant, and cheap coffee - with scarce condiments, and corn sweetened juice. * "Save Money." IF there was a savings, it was $2-3 per purchase. * "Transportation." The reality is any company independently booked with already provides transportation. * "Save Time" Everything could have been booked online in the same amount of time with the same transportation results. Additionally, their times and locations to catch the transportation were often incorrect. For example, on my first tour, they went by winter hours and not summer hours which made me an hour early; then they had me stand in the wrong location. * "Booking Convenience." Incorrect Times and Pickups at Landings were not clear are not a form of booking convenience. At times I felt like a Honolulu Hooker standing on the wrong corner waiting for my ride. The WORST thing they did: We told the woman who was booking for us that the thing we wanted most was the luau at the Polynesian Cultural Center. The receipt we got didn't say what was booked, but she booked the Roast Beef dinner instead! We didn't find out until the driver of the bus said, "How many people's ticket says, 'luau' on it?" Ours did not. The driver said he would try to change it but he later said he could not. It took the tour guide, A STUDENT at the PCC who WAS able to change it for us. As far as I know, Pleasant Holidays does two things: sell vacation packages (airfare, hotel, car, etc) and host a breakfast in Honolulu where they try to sell you other activities. You'll see reviews for both here on the same Yelp listing. This review is for their vacation package sales. I purchased a Hawaiian vacation package that included airfare, nice hotels, and a rental car for Oahu and Maui. It was about $1000 cheaper than booking these things separately and the Pleasant Holidays package also came with free breakfasts, Mai Tais, and credits at the hotels. Since it was such a good deal and since I had to call them and read them my credit card info over the phone (no easy book and pay online), I was a little worried that Pleasant Holidays was some fly-by-night outfit that just took my money, and I would get to the airport and they would have no record of my ticket. I'm happy to say that's not the case and we had a great trip, all booked through Pleasant Holidays. I will definitely check them out for my future Hawaiian getaways. read more

I recently went on my honeymoon to Moorea and Bora Bora, a trip booked through Pleasant Holidays. I made it to Moorea just fine, but when the time came to fly to Bora Bora, imagine my surprise when Air Tahiti informed me I was on standby because my flight was never paid for. Nor was my return flight from Bora Bora to Papatee. I had to buy these tickets for $926.64 on the spot to continue on my honeymoon, my travel agent assured me I would be refunded. It has been more than two weeks. Pleasant Holidays has not issued me a credit, nor have they been willing to provide anything in writing that the credit is coming. Let me start by saying yes, the breakfast is a waste of time unless it is your first time to a new destination and you want to learn more about the available tours there. But Pleasant Holidays gets 5 stars from me because they are an outstanding travel company. I have been using them for over 20 years, and they consistently beat any package price from anyone else. I booked an activity with this company for everyday I was in Waikiki, the actual activities were fun but the service Pleasant Activities provided was mediocre AT BEST. I book the activities a week before my vacation & had booked everything (except one activity) WITH transportation because we didn't want to rent a car. Well the day before we were supposed to go on the "Zip & Dip" tour with Kualoa Ranch, I look at my voucher & it reads -No Transportation- except the only activity that should have not had transportation was horseback riding. So, naturally, I called them so I can try to figure out why I paid for transportation. I had booked with a boy name Aaron, but when I called on this day, he was not there so I had to speak to a woman Dale. Who recognized the mistake & called the vendor to see if she could get us on the busses. She could only get us a seat on the bus returning home, so naturally I was not satisfied with that because the venue was an hour away. She offered to reimbursement for the taxi I would have to take going there. She was quite nice & accommodating. However; the next day, I get a call from Aaron leaving me a snotty message telling me I was lying. Yeah! I was lying. So Aaron should be fired & they should learn how to communicate within their company employees & teach their employees how to communicate with customers. We booked a family vacation to Hawaii via AAA travel. It supposed to include the following: 1. shuttle transfer from Oahu airport to Aqua Ohia hotel 2. 4 nights at Aqua Ohia hotel 3. Airfare to big island 4. Rental car from Kona airport to the hotel 5. 3 nights at Castle Kona Reef Resort The issues we found are: 1. they charged $2200 for the items listed above. They claimed that they couldn't provide. itemized cost. later we found the total cost would have been ~ $1700 if we booked on our own. Is this price gouging? 2. When we arrived Oahu airport. No shuttle arrangement was there. We called AAA and pleasant holidays, got no answer. We ended up paying the shuttle ourselves. 3. when we arrived Castle Kona Reef hotel, they had no record of our reservation. We had to find a room in a nearby hotel on our own in a hurry. We left a message for Pleasant Holidays about the issue and they still haven't called us back yet! 4. after we came back, we went seeing AAA for resolution. AAA started contacting Pleasant Holidays asking for compensation. It took them 2 weeks to get back with little more than refunding the cost of the shuttle and the hotel we had to book ourselves. read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Two people in our party had to cancel for medical reasons and we did not get refunded for the plane tickets (yes it was in the contract but I still think its a rip). Then we found out the day before our flight our tickets had to be reissued because of a time change by 5 minutes. We called customer service at 11 am and no one knew how to fix it or what to do, and it ended up being we did not get our tickets until 11:30pm. I have used Pleasant Holidays several times for Hawaii fun. I've been to both Maui and Oahu. I think people need to do research no matter where they travel to or with which company, this is a no brainer. I too had learned from research to skip the first day breakfast orientation by research prior to my very first trip. As far as customer service and fees, PH surpasses all others, even those who 'do it themselves.' I've always gotten a great deal. I have helped many friends get to their dream vacation in Hawaii by using affordable PH travel. But I also tell them to sleep in the first day or spend it walking on the beach instead of attending the orientation. I plan on using PH again soon! aloha read more

We booked a USS Arizona Memorial / USS Missouri combination tour and arrived for a 9:45 tour. We were informed that because of high winds the Navy canceled the remaining tours to the Arizona Memorial. This was very disappointing, but out of our control. The remainder of our tour did finish. We called Pleasant Holidays and they were able reschedule another tour for the Arizona Memorial the next morning. A 20 person van arrived and took our 3 person group as well as another 4 person family directly to Pearl Harbor. Our driver got us early tickets and we were able to complete the tour and return to our hotel before noon. Both families we we extremely pleased with the service provided to complete our experience. Had a great vacation through Pleasant Holidays. We attended the free breakfast and enjoyed it very much. No, it wasn't a five star restaurant but it was good and the presentation about the tours was very informative. We never felt pressured to purchase any tours (although we did purchase three tours). When the time share was brought to our attention we said we were not interested and that was that. The tours (pick-up time and locations) were perfectly executed. Very professional and informative tour guides and after looking at other prices were right in line with wat others were available. Had a great 13 day vacation in Paradise and would book through Pleasant Holidays for my next trip. read more

It's just a cheap breakfast set up so that their salespeople can bully unsuspecting people into booking tours that they could probably get for a lot cheaper if they booked it on their own. Their employees are clearly underpaid, so they are forced to strong-arm guests into purchasing overpriced tours so they can make some commission. We were first time visitors to Hawaii. We feel the flight and motel package (Sheraton Waikiki Resort) was a great package deal. The breakfast was informative, and my wife won a free luau ticket as a door prize. We also met a nice couple who accompanied us on one of the excursions. We experienced NO pressure for excursions or time shares. The people were friendly and able to answer all questions about excursions. We had already checked on line for prices from others and were well-satisfied with what Pleasant Holidays offered. They were always on time and provided personable and knowledgeable tour guides. The Maui Divers factory tour was interesting, and of course, they would like guests to buy something, but we did not feel overly pressured to do so. This company was no help at all and not understanding at all when my husband passed away suddenly and quoted "company policy" for how they could not honor our trip insurance in a way that was at all helpful to me even with both names on the cancellation insurance. Booked helicopter tour of volcano in Hawaii on big island and was sold package deal of ground tour and helicopter tour. ended up getting neither due to weather had to reschedule helicopter tour which caused us to miss ground tour. second attempt at helicopter tour ended up being cancelled and resulted in us missing out on both ground tour and helicopter tour. Response from pleasant holidays was, I only have to pay $560 for the flight to the big island and the pleasure of sitting in the airport for the last day my honeymoon. but we will graciously refund your $758 paid for helicopter tour and ground tour. so i wasted my last day of my honeymoon and $758 to sit in a tiny airport all day and then have the typical passing the buck when it came to some resolution on the matter as pleasant holidays doesn't actually provide any service, rather they book through other vendors and just charge you for that. in short, book directly with vendors and get exactly what you pay for or don't pay at all. read more
