Pleasant stay at the Pleasant View Inn! The room was decently clean for a hotel on the beach. I always expect to see some sand. Plenty of extra amenities such as pool towels provided, all day coffee, cookies in the afternoon, bingo at the bar. We chose the rate that included breakfast each morning and were happy with our decision since any place else would have required a drive. Ate lunch at the restaurant and loved the portabello burger. The ocean view is amazing. No elevator or luggage carts so be prepared to carry or ask for help from the front desk. Room has a fridge which is great but the addition of a microwave would be nice. Overall, great trip and happy with our stay. read more

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights during our Babymoon in August. Our top priorities were an ocean view within driving distance from NYC. For this, the PV Inn was perfect. Without paying an arm and a leg you can get a clean room with a million dollar view, practically on top of the ocean at Misquamicut Beach. The staff is super courteous and helpful and the pool is a nice bonus on the street side of the Inn. There's always lawn chairs available to lounge in, but it wouldn't hurt to bring beach chairs if you want to go down to the beach. The restaurants are ok. Not NYC caliber, but definitely serviceable and the view of course is incredible. Grab yourself a nice cocktail at the bar and take in the view. We also swung by Mystic one night on a recommendation by the front desk. It was a pretty quick drive and the food at S&P was fantastic. I also recommend the Olympia Tea Room over in Watch Hill, a great option with outdoor seating looking upon the marina. If you've got kids, they'll love the carousel in town. No kids? Eat ice cream at SCA. Thank me later. Back to the PV Inn, my only real issues are with the beds and pillows. An upgrade would go a long way. For example, our queen bed was actually 2 small twins beds side by side. Also, the pillows were pretty lumpy and I didn't have it in me to request new pillows. At the end of the day I wasn't there to sleep, but my wife and I were there to relax and a more comfortable bed would have been icing on the cake. One last thing that may initially turn you off - because the Inn is on the beach the hallways can get a little musty. Small price to pay for the coastal location. The rooms are fine though since the AC pumps all day. Overall, for the price it's a great value because not everyone can afford The Ocean House in Watch Hill. But, if you can swing a message, drinks or a meal over at The Ocean House, it's definitely worth spoiling yourself a bit since you saved money by staying at the PV Inn. read more

Location, Location, Location!!! Wow - if you slept any closer to the ocean then you would be awoken every morning by the waves gently splashing across your face. Okay so you get the idea. Pleasant view is a solid 3 star Inn at a 6 star location and I think that is why reviews are so mixed. What I take issue with is the fact that they charge some much during peak season yet our room had a bathroom that looked a little worse for wear - rust on the drop ceiling and there were times where I could hear the people in the next room. At $150 a night no complaints, at $500+ a night I would absolutely complain. Go there early in the season or late, when you can get the best deal and leave peak season to all those people from NY or CT that have money to burn .... RI will happily take their money. I would consider staying there again but I am also likely to check out the other properties in the neighborhood. read more

The Pleasant View Inn has a beach bar/lounge/restaurant on the first floor. You don't have to be staying here to eat here! The dining room features seats by their bay windows, which look out over the beach/ocean about 15-20 feet away! It was so pretty I just couldn't stop staring!!! While you're waiting for your food or not munching on their sourdough rolls, you can also take a walk along the beach right outside the restaurant! This is cozy but still nice dining. Prices are reasonable and they serve pretty good lobster bisque (the traditional kind with slight chunks of lobster actually in it). I had the local scallops baked with crab stuffing. It was a large, savory dish containing about 10 medium sized scallops. I felt like a glutton, but I just HAD to eat it all! Yummmmm. The fish n' chips are a fav of one of the locals we came with. Someone also mentioned that the Pleasant View Inn was featured on national tv as one of the best places to stay. Beach is beautiful and you get first class service. Apparently they sent a group out there, received amazing service, and secretly sent a second group. They were amazed when they received the same first class service! I was wowed when I heard this story. The view is beautiful and dining service is super nice. I wonder what it's like to stay with them? Apparently the waitlist for a room here is up to a year because of that publicity! read more

It seems like the motel never does anything to the rooms. My mattress had a huge hole in the middle, that did bring another mattress to replace it. The amount of dirt under the bed was very bad, an inch thick and bottles, caps, papers, etc under it. Hair in the bed. Carpets are old, AC very old and smelling like mold. Outdoor faucet on the beach shower handle is missing. They no longer serve breakfast since Covid. I have stayed here a few times over the years. The staff is great, food in restaurant is good, reception area nice, just the rooms need updating or at least cleaning. read more

We went on our annual Misquamicut trip in August and stayed at the PV as we usually do. We have to say this was the worst stay we ever had. The only thing that was good and clean was the bedroom. The hallways were dirty and the rug is disgusting and smelly. The pool was cloudy and full of sand. This use to be THE PLACE to stay. Not anymore, especially for the price of $400 a night. And to make matters worse there was some mandate in place that the maids could not come into our rooms and clean and change towels. They did not verbally tell that to us at check in. They had a sheet of paper on the desk stating that in small writing that they expected you to see and read. We had to search out clean towels for our selves. The best thing about this in is it's location. It is RIGHT on the beach. However there is little else to say positively. We paid 1200 and change for 3 nights. No maid service, no breakfast offered and not a cup of coffee to be found short of a car ride. What hotel doesn't have coffee???? Ok next it is CARPETED. Everywhere. Dirty, bleach stained and ugly. I was impressed and I'm a tough critic (read my Shelter Harbor Review) The only knock is that it is dated (carpeting, seating, etc) but I'll tell you the food is good. I had the Wahoo which was on special - it tasted great, was generously sized, and perfectly cooked. I had the beet salad which was also great. We had a large party of 12 and one server. We were thinking uh-oh, but she rocked. She was speedy, kept our glasses full, and really pleasant (haha). Great sense of humor. Had a great time and would definitely go back. I feel right at home while I am on vacation, except, the ocean and the beach is right at my front door. Room is clean and the staffs are friendly and helpful. We, my mother and daughter went down to the restaurant called "The Kitchen" in the Inn and the food were delicious and well priced. This is my first time here but I will be back. Overall, the room was comfortable and the ocean front view was to die for, but I had a continued sense of uncleanliness. The carpets were not cleaned, not vacuumed, dirt on the floor in the common areas. The bathrooms were disgusting and had to remind front desk. They did not have regular staff monitoring, cleaning up and sanitizing as they should have. Regardless of just emerging and opening up from Covid they should have been much more prepared, especially when customers are seeking to escape after been locked down. Going here for eons. Usually, always VG!! Went for lunch. My friend enjoyed the Caprese Stack with kitchen. I was disappointed with the Nachos Platter. Baked dried up, possibly old cheese. More was BAKED into the plate than on the chips. Don't ever remember that. The waiter, Vinny took a long time for the beverages. Had to remind him 15 minutes later. He forgot the extra drinks, forgot the Cole slaw, forgot to take away the plates. Nice guy but couldn't be more forgetful. Reminded him all the time. Still gave him 20%. We've been coming here for over a decade. While the ocean view can't be topped we were disheartened by the shape of the room. For a two night stay that translates to just under $1000, the bathroom and the room itself should be clean. We would not leave our home in this condition for our sitter. The carpet is in terrible shape, with a big gaping hole by the bed. The room smells musty and like a bad air freshener. We are not the type of customers to complain about anything but quite honestly for the price you deserve better. We're going to look into other options until this place gets the upgrade it deserves. I wish I could give more than 5 stars! Pleasant View Inn is a must stay if you find yourself in Westerly, RI. This hotel definitely lives up to its name, situated right on the beach, you can't beat the view! The hotel itself has so much character, and the rooms are nice and comfortable. The food was awesome, and they rotated food specials that were always great. The staff and managers were extremely accommodating and friendly - they truly care about their guests. Garrett Martunas was the manager at the restaurant during my stay, and he was great! He went out of his way to ensure myself and other guests were well taken care of. Being right on the water was the only positive thing about our stay here. For the quality of this hotel it was extremely overpriced. Checking in we were told to come at 4, we showed up at 3:50 and were told we cant get our room yet. We showed back up at 4 exactly to a line of 15 people trying to get their rooms. The carpet throughout the building smells moldy. Our room is small and has a bizarre smell as well as the bathroom being incredibly outdated and gross. We were not allowed on the private beach provided to guest on the day we arrived because we were not settled in our room yet. We wanted to not have to wear shoes in our own room but felt as though we had to. Save your money and go to another hotel on the water! read more

Between the nasty woman at the front desk, the yipping dog two doors down, and the fire alarm going off at six AM, I'm not sure what part of this was a "vacation". The pool is not heated like they say, there is a loose stone in the steps by the bar which nearly sent me falling straight into concrete, and, oh, it wouldn't hurt if the filters in the air conditioners were cleaned every once in a while. Who needs to make sand castles on the beach when you can make a dust castle in your hotel room out of the dirt and dust from the air filter? A $39 dollar amenities fee caught me off guard at check-in, but now I know it's for your mandatory six AM wake up call when the fire alarm goes off (four days in a row!). Check in isn't until 4, and check out is by 10, but with rude service at the front desk, the wait feels eternal until you can put your bags away and hide from the sun for a few minutes. The door to your room needs to be slammed in order to close, and every single door sticks in the doorframe, which led to some great fear at the aforementioned 6 AM fire alarm when we struggled to get the door open to get out in case of a genuine emergency. Lesser issue, but the WiFi shut down at 10 pm. I guess they really just want you to get your 8 hours of sleep before jolting you out of bed at the ass crack of dawn. read more

I struggle to even leave 2 full stars. The online pictures are beautiful and misleading. Check in process was easy but trying to find your room is a nightmare. There is no rhyme or reason to the maze of hallways to room numbers way out of order. The hallways are dimly lit and musty smelling, but the bad lighting helps hide the hideous worn green carpeting. Cots stores in little coves in hallways and bags of trash. This is all before even getting to our room. Upon arriving at our door, there was a heap of soiled towels and linen- that stayed there for almost two hours. The room is unbelievably small. The bathroom might have been the biggest part of the room. We walked into a small cube with a bed and a cubbyhole shelf thing, nasty smelling fridge, and leaky ac. The balcony view is nice but there was certainly not enough room for my husband and I both to be out on it at once. No clock or phone in the room? Dirty walls and floor. And the bed like sleeping on a board. Worst night sleep ever. The bar was full with trashed people yelling. Flies everywhere. We did have friends with a cheap room- facing the parking lot- and they're room was huge. Double beds and living area- and almost clean. No no no. Don't be fooled. read more

This the hidden gem of southern RI! My two girlfriends and I came to go to Andrea on Sunday but before we got there we checked out the reviews and saw that this place serves food (somewhat foodie food)! Which couldn't have worked out better. We had one drink and ventured next door to check it out. The hostess was friendly and the bar staff was nice. We sat in the little dining room overlooking the water. The view was just to die for. Beautiful day on the water with some exceptional food. We had apps and entrees that used all fresh ingredients with tons of flavor that all mended together well. We shared everything and I didn't taste one thing I didn't like. The service was good, we didn't have to wait for anything. The server was a little busy but made up for it in personality. She seemed to know a lot of her customers because she was saying "Mr or Mrs". The place seems like it's been around for a while and is a little dated but it seems like locals try to keep it a secret. Kudos to the locals if I am letting the cat out of the bag!!! I will def be returning at some point this summer! read more

Disappointed... We have been going to the PV Inn for about 20+ years. The renovated rooms look nice, that part was done well. The hotel definitely needs to be renovated. There has been talk for years about an elevator and handicap bars for the bathroom, that would be a nice addition. Pretty sure there is mold in the air conditioner or room, still have a cough and sneezing. Making the reservation, not an issue, they got our room ready early which was nice. Restaurant - hit or miss, the steamed and raw clams were good, scallop over risotto was good. Salmon and Tuna were blah, Lobster roll was overcooked and blah. Breakfast was cold some of the days. Service, awful.. restaurant was so slow to take order and serve food, but not slow to bring out the bill. Pool - there is a rule that kids should not be there w/o adult supervision, that was not followed by many. There were multiple times I was the only adult at the pool, there were kids, not mine cause I don't have any. Some of the adults that did show were worse than the kids. Most parents told their kids to not pick up the hose, some jerk guy was spraying all the kids in the pool and then me, I told him 2x to not spray me at all.. Pretty sure all the pool rules were broken during our stay. Check out, I commented on the above, and was advised I should have come to the front desk and reported the kids.. REALLY! I am on vacation, I shouldn't have to monitor your facility. Get a life guard, get someone to walk around or sit there for a bit and watch. read more

Nothing was cleaned in that room. The sheets had stains on them, there was dust and dirt and stains on everything everywhere. It was so dirty I didn't even want to put my stuff down. There was even a really gross dirty tissue in one of the drawers. On top of all that the bathroom was horrendous, the shower was so nasty we didn't even bother to go in it. Also the toilet wouldn't flush. We had them come 3 times to fix it and it still didn't work. The last time they came they left splatter from the toilet bowl all over the seat. Worst place ever. I was just wracking my brain on how to do this rating and saw in someone else's review he said it perfectly. This is a solid 3 star inn at a 6 star location. Right on Toby H! But you see, part of this is my fault. I decided to save a few bucks by getting an interior room, which means windowless cave, which also had no clock or phone. So it was like staying in Vegas. I had no idea what time it was, if it was day or night, rainy or sunny. I also realized if there was a fire, the room would become a tomb. So if we go back, I will definitely crack open the wallet a little wider and get a room with a view. On the basics, we had a clean, comfortable room right next to the beach with a heated pool. free ice, parking, and lawn-chairs set-up with a view of the ocean. The staff was available and courteous, and that's about it. The promised free wifi means your phone shows full connectivity, yet you can't access the Internet. The cocktail service at the pool means you press several buzzers, get no response, and have to go inside for your own cocktail which is a daiquiri made with tequila instead of rum so it isn't a daiquiri at all. It's kind of frustrating because you can see they're trying and just falling short. Honestly, if they put in a little more effort, fixed a few things, this would easily be 5 stars. But if you're just looking for a place by the beach, this works. read more

Room without a window? I could have stayed a 100 miles from the beach without any window I didn't know I was on the beach. Very disappointed in booking.com and this hotel for not mentioning my 350.00 room on a Thursday night had no window. I thought I was paying more for a view and a pool. I would not have spent 3x the amount of another nearby hotel if I had known our room was windowless before I booked. Pool was nice, food was great though I think they are understaffed and the price is more than it should be. They do not have a children's menu for breakfast - annoying. Great location! Down at the end of the "tourist" section with great views of the water. We stayed before Memorial Day and the restaurant wasn't opened yet but there are plenty of good places nearby. The room was nice, bathroom was nice, nothing fancy but we were facing the ocean and had a balcony. One of the best views of the Atlantic. Food is very good, nicely presented and hearty portion size. The lobster salad sandwich is quite outstanding. Steaks and prime rib looked beautifully prepared. My boyfriend and I came her for our 10yr anniversary. The view is amazing!! Great view !! It really is a pleasant view haha so don't think they named if for the employees PLEASANT attitudes HA! The lady at the front desk didn't seem too pleasant , older woman with glasses. She seemed to be more accommodating to the older guest then to people our age 27an30. She wasn't very nice. So our first time here , after dealing with her I wanted to leave already. If she's a rude unhappy person how would everyone else be. She didn't give us any info about the restaurant, or give us the wifi code. The people she took care of before us (older couple40/50yrs old) she smiled with them gave them info on the restaurant times and the wifi code. So are room didn't have a phone. But if the "nice lady" at the front desk gave us the info she gave the couple checkin in before us , we would of received the number to contact the front desk if we had any issues or questions. Honestly the first person you are going to encounter coming here shouldn't be her. I've worked in customer service all my life and smiles sell. I had gone to the front desk again the next day to ask about how we contact the front desk since there isn't a phone in the room but she ignored me and continued to talked to another employee for a good 5minutes which is rude and shouldn't be done. Seriously if you can't handle a few guest coming in during off season I wonder how she is during the busy season. Are room was on the second floor so we did have a balcony which was sweet! The pool wasn't available which was a bummer . When my boyfriend booked the room they should have informed him their HEATED POOL wouldn't be available. We did go in the off season, to avoid the party goers. But still it's the weekend before Memorial Day weekend your pool should be filled and ready to go. The room was small , but I didn't care because I'm there for the beach! The price you pay for the room is definitely for the view. They should paint ,the compound was still showing on the walls from covering up a few wholes. If you like extra firm beds then your in luck. My back was killing me because of how hard to bed was. The kitchen / restaurant had a funky smell, like elderly urine. My boyfriend convicted me to give it a chance. But after sitting for a few it went away. The breakfast we had was good, the menu needs to be changed though. Who ever printed them up had the right idea I guess wanted to make them look fancy, but it's all bunched together and the font needs to be changed. The waitresses we had for breakfast were very friendly and outgoing. Dinner waitress seemed super stressed out , she rather stay in the bar then serve us which was kind of annoying. The food was good , scallops wrapped in bacon was delicious. Definitely worth the money if you get the scallops. The burgers and fries were good. Pretty platting too. They should close the door to the bar though , since the people in the dinning area want a nice romantic evening without drunks screaming. So if your coming here,make sure the pool will be available if your going during off season, a room with a balcony, and avoid the lady at the front desk . I came down here for dinner with my boyfriend on a Sunday night in May. Stunning view, and an old fashioned but pleasant decor. The busboy brought us water right away and the server came over shortly after. The drinks were good and the price reasonable. We ordered the stuffed flounder and scallop dinners. The scallops were divine and the bed of risotto they were served on was pretty good. The flounder dish was a flop. The asparagus was over cooked and the flounder wasn't that tasty. At this point in our meal, the dining room had started to fill up so we couldn't get our server's attention. The manager walked by, however, and promptly handled the issue by giving us a half-plate of scallops (which we asked for instead of eating the flounder) and to our surprise, comped the flounder dish. We booked in December for an August stay, paying in full for a special price. With all that time in between I expected the reservation to get screwed up but was pleasantly surprised to find everything in order. And check in was very quick and painless. Pros are the location, it's clean, water is hot and a/c cold, the pool is OK, there's a bar and restaurant on site, other businesses are a short walk. Cons are the room had a strange (though mild) odor, maid service doesn't come around til about 5pm, there aren't enough parking spots, rooms are tiny, restaurant is pricey, and the coffee in the lobby is bleh. Overall it did the trick. The kids enjoyed running down to the beach and then to the pool. It was nice to walk down the street for meals and ice cream. And there's a lot in downtown Westerly, a short drive away. I'd come back again, though I'd expect the maid service to improve. read more

The bathroom was clean but a bit dated in the decor. We had breakfast there. Real nice view overlooking the ocean. Food was good. Word of caution. Don't get fooled by the beach side. Our room had flies in the bathroom that we had to get rid of. Would be great to have chairs available for beach instead of having to bring your own also towels . No breakfast service in the AM not even coffee ! You could have coffee pots in rooms and available prepackaged foods available for purchase especially because your not serving breakfast . Which I don't understand why you don't have available you have a restaurant on site hire staff to serve breakfast . We had dinner there food was excellent ! Front desk could be a lot friendlier and more welcoming in greeting guests . It seemed like a chore for them and that we were bothering them . Drink service for guests on the beach would be amazing ! I know I'm reaching with that one ! Pool was nice although cold would be better if it was heated and more shade around pool area is needed. LOCATION!! We stayed during the last week of June in a Queen Poolside room. PV Inn is located off the main strip so we dealt with less obnoxious crowds. Despite being a young single couple, sometimes we need personal space to relax & time with each other. PV Inn offers exactly that! There were many families & groups w young kids - everyone appeared to be having fun. The high room rates are typical for a beachfront hotel. The accommodations are nothing fancy but clean. We book the "deluxe" ocean view , usually the same room each summer, for the $$$, quality has taken sharp dive. We have a beautiful ocean view , waves crashing, along with a constant cigarette and marijuana smell. Filthy rugs, cigarette butts all over the beach/lot. No longer family friendly, when you're paying for an expensive room and all you smell is marijuana, along with a lot of drunk obnoxious people on the beach. The restaurant is still great, the staff is very nice, but the overall quality is no longer worth the price read more
