Had a very pleasant experience with The Willows Inn & Resort. Service was excellent and the front desk staff was willing to accommodate a special request. The rates are reasonable; there is a restaurant conveniently located within strolling distance; the surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. Our room, though not fancy, had all the usual amenities and was very clean. This is a great place to relax after a tiring day driving. I really like the yellow lab, Duke. He is the mascot and welcome committee when you come in. read more

This is my favorite place for breakfast in South County. I've been coming here for years and the food and service is consistently excellent. Seriously, eggs cooked exactly as ordered, the bacon is perfect - crispy but not burnt or crumbly, I don't know how they consistently cook the bacon to just the right amount of crispy without burning it. The pancakes are really special- they have a buttery flavor that doesn't need anything added to them to give them flavor I.e. blueberries. A server told me a few years ago that it's a family recipe and I believe it bc they are that good. I also love that they have some New England classics like brown bread and the muffins are made in house. Coffee is great too. In my option this is THE place for breakfast in South County. The only downside is that they're only open seasonally. read more

In town visiting my parents, they wanted to take my wife and I to breakfast, so last night my mom called to see if reservations were required due to the ongoing pandemic seating limits. Reservations weren't required and my mother was told we shouldn't have an issue getting in at our desired time of 8am today. So, jump to this morning - we arrived a little before 8, which was well past the time of the restaurant's opening. The door was locked, which I guessed was for helping to prevent going over the capacity limit. And yet...the parking lot was empty aside from maybe a worker or two...so...we stood outside wearing our masks...AND WATCHED WORKERS LOOK AT US, BUT MAKE NO EFFORT TO COME TO THE DOOR TO SPEAK WITH US. We waited for over five more minutes outside at the door, during which at least one worker clearly made eye contact with us...and still nothing from them. Finally, we gave up, and went home to enjoy each other's company and coffee cake. Tomorrow, I'll take my wife and parents out to breakfast - but it sure as heck won't be here. If this place wants to recover post the pandemic...I highly suggest those working at it to not ignore others who are literally standing at their door, in an empty parking lot, trying to spend money at the establishment. I'll never go back here though. Others, who don't ignore prospective patrons are just as deserving of our support and money. read more

Stayed in the Willows House with two queen beds. Bathroom was a little small. Rooms overlooked Foster Cove, and had two plastic chairs outside to enjoy the view. The view is really pretty. There is a dock to walk out on, and look out further on the cove. A heated pool is a short walk away from the house portion of the property. No lifeguard, but it was nice to have in the later part of the day after we came back from beach and waiting to get ready for dinner. Breakfast is on weekends off-season. read more

Staying at the Willows this week and it is my favorite places to stay here in Charlestown. It has a beautiful view overlooking the cove and is on spacious grounds, a rarity nowadays at most resorts. The rooms are older, but in fine shape and very clean. Owners are very nice. On other trips we have rented the family units with kitchens and we had our own areas to hang out with our kids and friends. Aways enjoyable. read more

Rooms, while not the most up to date, are super clean and provide you with what you need. Staff is friendly and accommodating. It's charm is the location and the fact that it is family owned and run. This is NOT a chain hotel. read more

Finding a breakfast place without a very long line is really difficult in South County in the summertime. One day we decided to try the Foster Pier Restaurant at the Willows Motel. My advice to you is don't. I have to admit, the view over Foster Cove is beautiful, and the staff is extremely friendly. But there are several reasons why the restaurant is mostly empty except for motel guests in the middle of summer. While the servers are very polite, they are also very slow. I mean, come on, does it really take 10 minutes to add up a bill for 2 people? My wife had poached eggs and mine were over easy. In both cases, the eggs were way past well done. If you happen to like frozen home fries, then guess what, you're in luck here. I'm sure one of the cooks must have previously worked at McD's, since the home fries were drenched in salt. Yummy. The menu lists homemade bread and muffins, but unfortunately for us, they were out of both choices today. Now if you don't have these items during your busiest season, exactly when are they on the menu? The Willows Motel calls itself the Willows Resort Motel. I would call getting breakfast at their restaurant a Last Resort. Next time, we'll wait out the lines at Hungry Haven. read more

We have lived in Charlestown for over 30 years, not 5 min. from Willows. We decided to go Sunday morning 7/29/2013. I am a 6'4", 250 pount Narragansett Indian, Mohawk hair with ponytail, which means nothing other then I am a hard man to miss. My wife and I decided to eat there Sunday morning, and after parking had to dodge past an employee in the middle of the front stairs, sitting outside there talking on her cell phone. Once inside we stood in front of the cash out counter expecting someone to assist us. 3 different employee's walked to the counter and never once looked at us, a 4th employee walked right up to us, and pushed her way past (no excuse me please) and walked down stairs. My wife and I looked at each other a bit shocked and decided to sit down an wait for a bit. During our sit, "STILL", not one employee even made eye contact with us, never mind greet us, say Hi!, "I'll be right with you". At this point we just wanted someone to actknowledge we were there. After 10 min., we looked at each other, got up and walked out.. again having to dodge the gabbie employee on her cell phone still. We didn't know what to think! Do they not like Natives? Was I too big? My wife is not Native, so it couldn't have been her skin color. There did not seem to be a crowd, it just plain did not present a good feeling. I'm 54 years of age, and have eaten at just about every place in and around Charlestown and neighboring towns. Breakfast is what I like the most. All I can say is my first time/experience in the Willows was not good. I will continue to just drive past it ............ read more

I'll preface by saying I am a vegan, however I can eat anywhere without issue. Simply talking to the server does the trick. To start, my boyfriend and I arrived for breakfast at 8:30am. Upon entering the "restaurant", the smell was musty and old. Looked like a kitchen from the 70's era. We were seated quickly and the servers were friendly enough, albeit busy with only four tables occupied. Our order was taken within 10 minutes. I ordered oatmeal, no milk and a side of white toast, no butter. My boyfriend ordered 2 eggs overeasy with sausage and toast. After 40 minutes (no exaggeration) of waiting, the food came out. My oatmeal was made with cream, and the toast had butter all over it. After informing the waitress, all she said was oh I'm sorry about that, and left! No oh let me fix it or can I bring you something else. We promply asked for the bill and surprise, we were charged for the oatmeal! Needless to say we will never be back. read more
