Before the pandemic, I wanted to try their drinks but didn't get a chance to. The drinks in a glass bottle really caught my attention. It was an interesting concept at the time. However, due to shipment delays, they did not have glass bottles in stock when I went. My friend suggested the Brown Sugar Ice Milk. I added egg pudding as my topping. As I took my first sip, this instantly became one of my favorite drinks. It had the perfect sweetness! Not too sweet and not bland at all! The slushy texture reminded me of a frappuccino, which I love. This will now be my go-to drink if I'm ever in Berkeley. It was really easy to order. They didn't have anyone to take orders. Instead, they have self-service on the counter where we order and pay on the tablet. We got the drinks pretty fast after ordering. I am happy I finally got to try one of their drinks. I will definitely be going back to try other drinks or I might just keep ordering the Brown Sugar Ice Milk because it is THAT good! No idea Berkeley had a Plentea-- Easily one of the better boba spots in town. Their draw is the discounts for reusing their glass bottles, but with COVID in place, that's been put on pause. Drinks are still great without the gimmick. For COVID safety purposes, all staff/patrons must wear masks, and social distancing is enforced. This location's pretty tiny, packed into the corner of a parking structure, so don't expect to hang around for a while. The interior's like most boba spots-- clean, minimalistic. Service is decently fast & kind. ROASTED OOLONG (no ice, 50 sweet, double boba): As fragrant as oolong can get. Super floral & perfectly sweet at 50%-- any more sugar would've pushed it over the edge. GET THE BOBA!! It's cooked/sweetened exactly right. If you ever had any doubts about the freshness of their fruits, they're all on display in the fridge behind the counter. Plentea's one of those chains that boasts natural ingredients, and you can actually tell from the taste-- My bf's mango tea was on the lighter side, slightly tangy like they'd just peeled the fruit itself. I absolutely enjoy this place. As I got back to the semester I was witnessing certain sparks of boba in a glass bottle. They look very appealing and inviting. I was randomly walking and I saw this location. Never seen it before and I'm usually around this area with frequency. The locations looks very eye pleasing with the neon lights and the whole boba atmosphere and decor. The service as in any other boba place that I've experienced is laid back and they are usually a young crowd making and serving drinks. I personally was going to pay with card and you have the option have a self checkout. Which I think it's cool and somewhat convenient at times. The waiting time was a bit longer than usual, but that's fine because I was waiting for something else at another location. In terms of flavour, it tasted just how I get my boba everywhere else. 50% sweetness and less ice. I can't recall the type, I belive I had the regular milk black tea or Thai milk tea. I would come here again. Please keep and encourage the glass use. I support any place that goes green and the attempt to reduce carbon footprint. read more

I really like that this comes in a glass jar. I was craving black milk tea and of course, pudding is my favorite addition. I chose 0% sweet and it actually wasn't sweet, unlike most places that still somehow manage to put sugar in there even if you say zero. One thing I will say about the jar is that the lid doesn't necessarily stay on very tight, so that's something to watch out for. read more

Parking here is a disaster. TBH driving down this street is a disaster. So, I dropped my daughter off and circled around a few times while she got our drinks. She LOVES this place. I got a sea salt cream coffee. They definitely gave me sea salt cream tea. I hate tea. I've never been here before, so I didn't know that's what it was upon first glance. Just thought it looked off. I didn't try it to know for sure it was tea until we were down the street, and I didn't want to deal with the street or parking to ask for the correct drink. Plentea is back...and I think better! I remember a few years ago Plentea would be open and closed randomly so we weren't sure when it would open back up. I would still caution the hours on Yelp (it says 11 PM most days) and double check by calling. The menu definitely has expanded and there's no extra charge (the extra charge made the drink relatively expensive back then) on the glass bottles. There's also a kiosk for you to order - I don't think they're on Snackpass yet. There was an option on the kiosk to mark that you brought your own previous glass bottle to use - not sure if they're actively doing this though due to COVID. We got the Jasmine Milk Tea with boba and a Strawberry Banana smoothie. -Boba had a slight sweetness to it which I prefer because some boba places have no sweetness to the boba -Boba texture was alright - could be a little softer -I like that the sweetness level can be customized down to 25% -Lactose free milk as a choice (in addition to almond milk). I really love how fresh everything is here. What has kept me as a constant customer is that they offer reusable glass bottles where you get 10% off your drink if you bring it back for your next drink. It's something that is important to me in drinking bubble tea because using a new plastic cup for each drink is not sustainable. The only thing is I wish they went a step further and provide paper straws and not plastic straws. The drinks here are delicious but unfortunately not all the teas here can be adjusted to low sweetness since apparently some of them have honey mixed in already. Their fruit teas are delicious though and I love that there is the option of chia seeds among the other typical boba toppings. Plentea where have you been all my life? My husband was craving something refreshing and since it was late at night not a lot of places were open. I love that they use fresh fruits and top of the line teas. I had the honey citrus green tea which you can't adjust the sugar for, but it has the perfect balance of sweet, tart, and slight bitterness. It was so good, it hit the spot on all the right ways. So good!!! I love that they're open late and that they have a self-serve kiosk. The employees are very nice and offered to re-make the drinks if we weren't satisfied, but they didn't need to because we definitely were! I got a jasmine milk tea with boba 50% sweet and my girlfriend got a house blend milk tea with boba 25% sweet. They were both perfect and the boba tasted fresh and chewy (and slightly warm - always a good sign for freshness). The prices were good especially considering the quality ingredients. I love the glass bottles too. The regular tea was quite good and refreshing, and had a nice aromatic taste. I wish that the strawberry tea had more strawberry flavor, but I liked that it had real fruit. As for the boba, it was a bit too hard and had no sweet flavor, so i did not find it that enjoyable. It may have been because they had just made a new batch and it did not have time to soak in the sugar, but I am not sure. I got a jasmine milk tea, 50% sweet with regular ice - no toppings and sad to say I was a bit disappointed with my drink. There was little to no tea flavor and all I really tasted was watered down milk. The glass bottle was nice to keep, but other than that - I was quite disappointed. I've been to the SF location once and this one a few times, but this experience was a bit underwhelming in comparison. I ordered a strawberry fruit tea with honey boba and half sweet, and as usual I enjoyed the amount of boba given and the adorable reusable glass bottle. It costs around $6.5 with tax, which is on the higher range for boba around Berkeley (not by much, but there is a lot of competition within 1-2 blocks away). The fruit tea flavor was simply too weak- I appreciate the use of real fruit but it tasted more like diluted strawberry-infused water, with no tea presence whatsoever (ordered with no ice). Maybe it's because I visited in the morning, but the honey boba was a lot firmer than I prefer and lacked the usual sweetness. It's a cute little shop. Very fast paced. There's stools that are more appropriate for waiting for your drinks than sitting and talking with a Buddy. I order on the kiosk and only interact with the workers when my drink is ready, so I feel neutral about the service. The actual drinks are not good. The first time I had Plentea's milk tea, it was actually pretty good! It was just a standard milk tea, and it was a solid 4/5. The next times, I got hazelnut and matcha milk teas. These two tasted like they put tap water in them. There was just something so distinctively strong "hard-tap-water-mineral" taste to it that threw me off. I want to be very clear that I always stepped out while waiting for my drinks so I never saw this happening and I'm not even trying to allege this at all. I ordered drinks via Uber eats yesterday. I ordered: Watermelon fruit tea with chia seeds and aloe, Dragon fruit fruit tea, and cold brew. You pay $0.50 extra if you want a glass bottle that you can reuse there later on or just get plastic. I love this option. I use my glass bottle for water. You can choose your toppings, sweetness level & milk. My watermelon drink was so good! It was as if I was drinking an actual watermelon. It was not artificial in any way & the quality was superb. My fiancé said his dragon fruit drink tasted like they just blended up a dragon fruit and added tea. He loved it. It was the actual fruit he was drinking. His cold brew coffee was with a splash of half and half and he said it was good but strong in flavor. It also was a great pick me up for him driving home in Bay Area traffic. The drinks are around $6-$7 which isn't bad. They are quality and I'll pay more for quality. They are so refreshing. So much so that I went back today. I ordered a matcha latte with almond milk & it was so good! I watched them make it, they hand mixed it the authentic Japanese way with the bowl and matcha whisker. Will I return? Hell yeah!
