I had some surgery in Santa Barbara and stopped for lunch in Los Alamos on my way home to Morro Bay. Ordered a BLT sandwich and it came with fries. Nothing special here. The ambiance was OK, but weird when I went to pay and they wanted me to use my Apple Pay. It worked but I don't usually have to use it at restaurants. Perhaps this is a new trend? We were hoping to catch the tail end of breakfast, but were sadly too late. Plenty on Bell has friendly service and good food. I ordered a Lavender latte and the Quackenbush Turkey sandwich. I would come back just for that latte. The sandwich was good, but a little dry. I'm sure this restaurant would've gotten 5 stars had I got to breakfast in time. The server even mentioned we should come for breakfast. Biscuits and gravy and the hash were the recommendations. Definitely willing to come back again and try breakfast. Quaint. Decent menu. Really glad that I asked for the bbq sauce on the side for the pulled pork sandwich. Maybe I just didn't read the menu well--the bbq sauce was heavily mustard-based. This restaurant is amazing! We stopped in Los Alamos to charge our car and grab a bite in the morning and were pleasantly surprised by this little gem. The staff were the nicest people we could've expected and the food was up there too. I had the sausage breakfast burrito, my wife had the short ribs with two eggs and country potatoes, and my kids split a granola yogurt with fruit, a side of sausage and split a single pancake. My girlfriend and I met at Plenty on Bell as it was halfway between our homes. The service was excellent and I forgot to get the servers name. She was very friendly and helpful. I had two eggs over medium the sausage, patty, potatoes, and sourdough toast. In the picture, I started eating and forgot to take a picture. My girlfriend had the avocado toast and an egg. She had tea and I had coffee, which was very good, and they had my raw sugar which I like. The sausage was OK. It kind of reminded me a little bit like hamburger. Everything else was great. It's a cute place. Very welcoming. You go outside to go to the bathroom, which is no big deal. They have an outside area where you could also eat, but it was not very warm yet. Their lunch offerings are dressed up classic American fare, i.e. burgers, sandwiches, salads, and desserts. They are open for breakfast and lunch daily, except on Fridays, they also offer dinner service. The Plenty Burger was thick and juicy and is cooked to one's preference. It was excellent, as were the included fries. The Avocado Toast had grilled tomatoes, which added an enhanced flavor addition to the entree. The poached eggs were a nice addition. However, the amount of avocado was quite lacking. Service was prompt, and all employees were extremely friendly and attentive. The ambiance is enhanced by the rustic interior. The potatoes were surprisingly good as I like them well done and highly seasoned and they came that way without required. Service was very good and perky. Looked like they started making fried eggs and forgot I ordered scrambles and instead of starting over properly they just whisked them while on the flat top. Looked like a hot mess of egg whites and some cooked yolks. Really should have pointed it out but figure it took a 4.5 to a 4. I would also say the number of short rib pieces were not abundant. The meat was good but I could count how many small chunks of meat were on my plate. Had a good pancake though so would definitely recommend this place as it has a quaint vibe but the food is better cheaper and larger at Charlie's down the street. Great Burger! Was traveling back to Santa Barbara and I was tossed .. do I have lunch in Los Olivos.. Buellton.. Solvang. As I headed south.. I saw the sign to Los Alamos. So I exited. Yelped for a burger.. and I found this jewel of a place.. right on the corner of Main Street and "whatever" street that was. Gotta say... big hearty tasty burger! Yumm! What a delightful place - we stopped for dinner and enjoyed the short rib and a chicken pot pie. This was the best short rib either of us has ever had and the pot pie was perfection. Carrot cake for dessert knocked my socks off. If it were appropriate I would have licked my plates clean it was all so good, and the server told me he wouldn't judge if I did. Friends took us to "Plenty on Bell" this morning for Breakfast. WOW. The best Eggs with Spinach and Goat Cheese ever. My husband had the Rib Hash and absolutely loved it. Niece had the Breakfast Sandwich, also loved it. Coffee was excellent, no bitter taste at all. The ambiance was absolutely wonderful, in line with the look of this quaint town. Cute little cafe downtown Los Alamos. Was really just looking for a coffee to go and maybe something to snack on while I was driving. This was my third attempt at trying to find both and kept striking out. Until I found this place. I got an iced latte and one of the ladies had just brought out a tray of freshly baked coffee cake. There was comfortable seating both inside and out and beautiful flowers in the entryway and outside there were bright red umbrellas over the tables. The lighting inside was great. Wow and wow! We chose this place because I wanted alcohol and my husband wanted coffee. Celebrating our 44th Anniversary and trying, as always, to compromise - the key to our success. Ended up enjoying an Adult Grilled Cheese (poblanos and grilled onions and OMG it was amazing!), an oat milk iced latte for him and an Aperol spritz for me. We sat on their patio and enjoyed the breeze and the view of downtown with our drinks and our split sandwich and delicious fries (not greasy, just light and tasty). After years of hearing about this place, we finally made it there. Los Alamos is a quiet little town with some great restaurants. Plenty is understated and quaint, located on the main street. We arrived when they opened at 5:30pm. The atmosphere is laidback with a country feel. The menu isn't extensive but had plenty (excuse the pun) of choices. Our group ordered the short rib special & the chicken pot pie. The pot pie came with a simple side salad with a tasty dressing. The crunchy pastry top was delicious. The ribs were served over mashed potatoes with a side of broccolini. All of the dishes were excellent. Next we had to try their homemade desserts. We opted for their peanut butter cookies, a slice of chocolate cake & a lemon bar. These cookies are amazing!! The lemon bar wasn't overly sweet with a streusel top. The chocolate cake was a lot of chocolate even for chocolate lovers - wasn't our favorite. Surprisingly, our meal was reasonably priced. We would return in a second. read more
