PLNT Mushroom BBQ Bacon Burger
Kelci M.

I think the burgers are hit or miss depending who's making them and sometimes service is extremely slow even when it's not busy. On this particular occasion I ordered the PLNT Mushroom BBQ Bacon Burger. The burger is good but nothing spectacular. I use ClassPass credits to purchase food here when my credits are about to expire. I would never pay for this otherwise. You're better off eating the hot food at Whole Foods.

Was my 1st time trying something from the menu. I regret only getting 1. It was so delicious. I will be returning to try other stuffs off their menu.

Burger and chili

The burger was paltry with an unripened slice of tomato on an ultra-processed bun, smothered in an overpowering sauce. The chili is so sugary it doesn't even taste like chili at all. Overall, completely disappointed by the low-quality and high pricing for sub-standard food.

Friggin delicious!! I didn't realize sweet potato fries could be so yummy and the burger was marvelous. I didn't use any of the supplied condiments and impressed I didn't need to. The food was cooked to order and reasonably priced. I truly enjoyed every bit of the meal.

As a vegetarian trying to find a good fastfood chicken sandwich- this is honestly so good ! The service was pretty quick and chill. It's a tiny little shop located inside of a Whole Foods and was worth the search. I would try something else next time ! Main downside is that it's like $20 for a large meal with a 'large' drink but gurl that's a small if I've ever seen one.

This is my new favorite restaurant from DC and I can't stop ordering from here! They basically sell plant based versions of fast foods. I tried a couple of things from PLNT burger and my favorites were the chili cheese fries and the spicy chicken sandwich. The chili is very sweet and is a nice balance to the fries. The spicy chicken sandwich is moderately spicy and super flavorful, and the texture is just like chicken! It is also located inside of a Whole Foods, which I love. They also have a 2-for-1 deal on the spicy chicken sandwiches on Uber Eats. Love this place and plan on coming back many times.

Today I didn't have any issues with placing my order (probably because I did it from my laptop). Anyhow, I ordered the PLNT Cheeseburger and a S'Mores OATasty. After fixing the shake the cashier tells me they didn't have anymore grilled marshmallows (which was the only reason why I ordered that shake in particular). I was pressed for time and didn't have time to debate it. The "burger" and the shake was on point. I didn't get to take pics lol, but believe me it was delicious! Can't wait to try some more items!

Definitely more than hype! Just burgers and fries inside the Navy Yard Whole Foods, the specialty burgers like the one pictured below aren't much different than if you were to add on bacon or vegetable for about the same price. They make everything made to order, and make sure you include the fries. The crispy herb fries were exactly that and weren't too oily at all. You can choose from a selection of four dipping sauces, I went for the spicy aioli which could have used slightly more zest but would be fine as a condiment on one of their burgers. I truly wish they'd come up to PA, or one of our local Whole Foods locations would consider it!

After an afternoon of helping friends move into their apartment, this quick meal was satisfying. My friends who are huge meat eaters actually enjoyed this too. This was their first time trying plant protein too. If there are a few things I would suggest, it would be don't be afraid of spice! :) The Spicy Chik'n Funguy while it had the crispy element; needed a little more of the spicy marinade to boost it! Otherwise I liked it. The veggie chili was okay; a little sweet for my liking. It reminded me of sloppy joes from when I was a kid; more so than chili. I would have liked it if there was more cumin and some cayenne thrown in there. Overall, I would still come again and try some more of their options!

We didn't have reservations, so the wait for 2 around 5:30 on a Wednesday night was about an hour, but we decided to grab seats at the bar instead and got full service almost immediately. Huge shoutout to Matt, our bartender, who was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Service overall was exceptional from start to finish. We started with the fried calamari and beet salad, which were both excellent and a perfect way to kick off the meal. For entrees, we had the steak frites and the New York strip with potatoes au gratin, plus a couple draft beers to wash it all down. Everything was fantastic, and the portion sizes were very generous. The building itself is part of the experience. It feels historic and full of character, with multiple dining rooms and four different bars that each had their own slightly different ambiance while still keeping that classic historic pub vibe. For a full dinner with appetizers, drinks, and entrees, expect around $100 per person -- but honestly, the quality, atmosphere, and service made it feel well worth it. Definitely a spot I'd come back to anytime I'm in DC.

Decided to order the Waterman's Catch(table behind me had ordered it OMG) Best thing about it, the Cole Slaw. It has a vinegar base. So good. Everything was fried hard hard hard batter peeled off( order not so hard) Comes with Fish(only had small piece fried so dark dark brown) 4 Scallops but there were 3 tiny pieces of deep fried crusty something that we thought tasted like Calamari. Subbed out Oysters for extra Shrimp. A lot of Shrimp, batter peeled right off so that was good for dipping in the Cocktail Sauce. Fries were ok. Order with Fish Sandwich we're so much better. Great price for $$. Good Music. Great view. Lots of laughs throughout bar. Would be good bar for Drinks and try the Baked Pimento Crab Tip...next time.

The Salt Line, Washington DC (Navy Yard)…read more Scoping out the Navy Yard, trying to find a restaurant for the six of us on the Wednesday that Bruce Springsteen was performing at Nationals Stadium, I spent the prior Sunday at The Salt Line (which is about a 10-minute walk to the stadium). I was there during brunch service and found a menu that covered a lot of bases. My main interest was seeing if they still offered fried clam bellies, a rarity in the D.C. restaurant scene. Nope, no bellies, but on offer under the brunch appetizers were Stuffies (three baked top neck clams, smoked linguica, lemon, breadcrumbs, house hot sauce, $13), along with more traditional starters, including clam chowder ($7 cup, $12 bowl), fried calamari (roasted garlic pomodoro sauce, fried cherry peppers & artichoke, lemon, $15). I ended up ordering the North Shore Roast Beef sandwich (horseradish cream, BBQ sauce, American cheese, onion roll, with fries, $19). More than enough for brunch and lunch the following day. Service was good, and the meal was excellent. Note the Salt Line's transparency, where it explains that "DC restaurants have been operating with dynamic and significant increases in labor wages, food costs, and the general cost of doing business in DC. We have chosen to implement a 4% operational surcharge - which does not go towards gratuity - as the most comprehensive way to address this." Seems to me to strike a decent balance, but I'm not all that up to date about the living wage issue in the services industry. In any event I respect The Salt Line's management for being up front about their surcharge policy.

Parking for me was pretty easy as I found street parking right in front of the restaurant, my cousin parked in the garage. This matchbox is pretty big and it was decorated really nice. We were seated immediately for lunch and our server assisted us with the lunch options. I chose the mushroom pizza and soup. And my cousin had apple pear and soup of the day. For the $14.99 price it was worth it we had pizza left to take home. The atmosphere was lively during a weekday lunch. They also had WiFi available. They have a $15 lunch special where you can get a small personal pizza and a cup of soup or side salad. I ordered the grilled chicken and avocado sandwich ($19) which comes with a side of fries and a pickle spear. It was just okay. They serve shoestring fries - just like McDonalds, but not as golden and not as crispy. The sandwich had good structure and was filling, but the chicken was bland and dry. I could've used some more sauce. I think I'm used to Nando's chicken which is moister and full of saucy flavor. Other people at the table ordered the fish and chips ($24) which looked good - it came with two large, meaty pieces of cod and the same shoestring fries. Also on the menu - Matchbox now serves sushi! Service was sufficient but a little absentminded, particularly for drinks. Some people never got their water (I think she forgot) and drinks were never refilled - cups were empty. We were checked on a couple of times, but drink service was often overlooked. Food trickled out for our group. It came in about three waves. It was a reasonable wait (nothing offensively long), but it's always nice when the food comes out at the same time, or when some verbal acknowledgement is given to say that everyone's food would be out shortly. I would say food and service were average overall.
