I decided to have a late lunch here and watch the college football bowl games. First time here (most likely the last). The interior seems ok, plenty of TVs, most of which had pretty crummy resolution, definitely not high definition. I sat at the bar since those seats had the best view of the largest number of TVs. I asked the bartender Jose to please change the channels to espn and cbs, where two of the live games we're. He requested this from the employee that manages the TVs. It took about 20 minutes for the channel on two TVs to be changed. Kind of annoying but whatever. The thing that was annoying is that there's two live games going on and over half of the TVs were showing a game from last year, makes no sense. To top it off, the speakers in the restaurant were set to the channel showing those games. I find it hard to believe that a wing restaurant is oblivious to the current bowl game situation. The sound coming from the speakers was very poor and hard to hear, ended up just sounding like random noise. Now to the food, if you are named "pluckers," you better have some darn good wings. I played it safe and order 5 wings combo with tots. The tots were bland and not exactly crunchy, I would say sonic has better tots. The wings, I ordered medium buffalo. They took and while and came out cold. Not refrigerator cold, but cold as in sitting in room temperature for 30 minutes or more cold. They had good flavor and crunch, too much crunch and no heat. I'm thinking medium should be about as spicy as hot Cheetos. I had to get Tabasco and add it to my ranch dip just to get a little heat. The Tabasco bottle was very crusty with no cap. Leaving the contents exposed to flies and other contaminants. Jose the guy working behind the bar was friendly and courteous. I could tell he was trying his best to keep up, but he had too much going on with little to no help from other employees. Recap: came for the wings and the TVs (college bowl games). Left very disappointed. Sucks cause I had high hopes of finding an alternative to twin peaks, in case I want to change it up sometimes. This ain't it. It was a slow Friday for lunch around 130ishpm we had a server with a trainee . Got seated quickly, order taken promptly, and food arrived fast and hot. But we had to eat half appetizer without drinks (not a big deal) . However when we asked for a refill midway through our main entree, the servers said they would be back and proceeded to clean two tables and take an order from another table. We finished our lunch sharing a water between 3 of us :/ . The kicker is that the trainee initially wanted to get us our refills so we can enjoy our lunch with our drinks , but the trainer stopped her and told her she had to clean the two tables and take an order elsewhere before getting our refills . The most horrible service ever the host are extremely rude and the server we had she was horrible. She was rude the whole time also, the manager was very confused when it came to communicating with him. I know it was Halloween. They might've had a lot of business, but they should be on top of it. We were in Webster and decided to stop at this Pluckers for dinner. The restaurant was not busy when we got there at 5pm but it was packed by the time we left. There were folks outside, on the wait list, dining in the patio despite the Houston heat. *Food -1/2 order of fried pickles: 5/10. This was my least favorite thing. The spears were thick so the breading fell off when I was eating it. The breading tasted good but I wish it stuck to the pickle. -The Bypass burger with waffle fries, sauce on the side: 8/10. The bacon was a little salty but everything else was A1! -15 wings: 5 Jamengo Jerk tossed in hot: 6/10 because i personally do not like sweet wings and the sauce was syruppy. 5 vampire tossed in hot: 9/10 it was the perfect flavor and will be my go to. 5 hottest flavor: 7/10 because the version I ate hotter at the Shepherd location was waaaay hotter. -Fried potato chips- 9/10 excellent, crispy and well flavored. * Ambiance- typical wing joint. The past 2 years this location has gone downhill. Me and my wife live less than 10 minutes away but will now only drive to Sheppard location to eat. The service is actually really good but the food quality and time it takes to arrive has been very bad. This most recent visit was on a Tuesday around 4pm before dinner rush. There were maybe 10 other people dining, yet it took 30-45 minutes for our wings to come out. Not only did it take long but half the wings were super cold and had to be sent back. Another time my wife and I dined we had same issues, not packed yet took almost 40 minutes for wings and they were all over cooked to a crisp with no flavor. Don't know if kitchen is being trained properly on making these wings but we won't be going to that location to eat anymore. We would rather drive an extra 30 minutes plus wait time at Sheppard location. read more

So in comes Pluckers. Houston was once a town dominated by Wing Stop and Buffalo Wild Wings but now we add Pluckers to round out the big three. This place has been open since about 4 years ago. I've enjoyed several trivia nights with the guys, however, it got old fast with how many people were using their phones and the lack of policing on that. Pluckers boasts a very large selection of sauces to toss wings in. Gold rush & Dr. Pepper wings are some of my favorites. They have fried desserts that definitely kill your carnival cravings. Ambience is nice. Plenty of TVs everywhere for your sports needs. I can see why everyone would prefer it over B-dubs or Wingstop because the amount of wing you get is pretty big; however it also lowers the sauce to chicken ratio which can create a bland bite. And if I had known any better, it seems like all the wings are naked. So, all in all, pluckers gets a shoulder shrug mixed with a thumbs up. If you invite me out, I'm there. When he got his food all of the tomatoes were rotten... told the waitress she offered to get another, but he refused and said I don't want it. They gave us an entire bag of celery that was rotten. Some of the celery was liquified and all of it had black ends, all of it was also slimy.
