We had such a great dining experience. Had a reservation at 7pm for a party of 8 to celebrate my friend's birthday. Our table was ready and we were seated promptly. Highly recommend Chef Freddy, he elevated our dining experience and had a great sense of humor! The food was delicious! Not one complaint from our party. Our other server was very attentive and she kept the drinks coming. Hibachi is such a unique experience.

Didn't get chef for 40 minutes and was very annoying and pissed me off super bad. Never coming here again

Confusing menu, couldn't order exactly what we wanted, long wait and the server was wearing plastic gloves the entire 1.5 hours we were there and they were filthy. Not worth the money, nearly $80 for what you see here

We went to Plum Garden to celebrate our daughter's birthday and were a party of five. Our reservation was at 7pm and we were seated fairly promptly. We had an incredible evening and both the service and food were fantastic! I had the Sukiaki Steak Dinner, a thinner cut of steak served with soup, salad, rice and vegetables. 2 people in our party had the chicken, the others.. shrimp and steak. Everything was tremendous and we had plenty left to enjoy the next day. I would definitely recommend dining here if you find yourself in the Pittsford area and craving delicious Japanese Cuisine.

We have been going to Plum Garden since the kids were babies and my son turned 30 today and asked to go for his birthday dinner. It's been about 10 years since we've been, but have gotten take out fried rice over the years. It was fun and food was great, as we all remembered. Service was attentive and our chef was entertaining, engaging and cooked us a great meal. One of our memories was having enough to have leftovers for lunch the next day, and the portions did not disappoint. Everyone had leftovers! Well done Plum Garden. We won't wait so long next time.

Stopped in the other night with some friends for dinner after work. We went for the Hibachi experience which was fun, scary, and delicious, lol. There is a regular seating area too, where you can just order off the menu, fyi. The cook was entertaining, and very experienced. I was a little nervous with the hot fire, and the knives moving so fast, but was great. We had shrimp, chicken, and steak with vegetables, all were fresh, hot and delicious, oh and the fried rice was phenomenal! Was a little pricey, but well worth the experience, and I took home leftovers and some sushi to go, will definitely be back.

This was our first time back to Plum Garden in 20 years! The staff was pleasant and the chef that served us was wonderful. He entertained, while serving up a great meal for us. Portions were more than generous- with lots of leftovers, which lasted us a few days. It was certainly an experience and a bit pricey, so it might be a special occasion kind of place for us in the future. We enjoyed it!

We ordered Shumai,Tempura appetizer, japanese soda, green tea, buckwheat noodle soup, chicken teryaki bento. Arigato gozaimasu!

Plenty of handicap parking, front door 50 feet from parking lot. Walked in on crutches, baby steps, wearing a full fall harness with "flare" patches sewn on. Great Music, 2-3 deep at the bar, bar full of laughing, happy, amazing people! Then about 6 men peeled off from the large group and surronded me, asked why the fall harness, why the crutches? Kept asking questions, then I said, "I was blown up in a backdraft explosion ITLOD" then, more questions....... then I asked, any Military, family friends, sandbox, IEDs? Then the stories flowed of family friends, Vets, Military, love of country. WOW! The, I was approached by Pascal, a Professor at a design College. Said he was tasked by the DOD and VA to build a vehicle for our Injured Military, injured ITLOD by IED explosions, unable to sit in intense pain ...... LIKE ME. OK I gave them all my ergonomic drawing, pictures everything for free. 2 years later Pascal called me and said the design College, DOD and VA had shut down the program. I asked why and was told, MONEY and LIABILITY. I said bad words and then said, WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT ! YOU DON't GIVE UP On our INJURED MILITARY, EVER. AT THAT POINT I TOOK THE LOAD. I was going outside at midnight and saying prayers and asking for help from GOD and Jesus as I had been getting overwhelmed. That is why my medical staff was getting concerned, turn out I need not have worried, YOUR BAR, THIRST'S, my medical staffs directive. I hope you know that THIRST'S is MAJIC and it's filled with ANGELS, staff, patrons, just one after another. Just increadable. You refilled my tank with confidence, inspiration, HOPE and LOVE. Once Nico finally caught up he was entertaining and responsive. I think staffing needs improvement or reservations need to be spaced out better if they can't staff! They stretched themselves too thin having parties going in the back room at the expense of the main dining room. Once we got going, food and service was excellent. Lock 32 serves a nice variety of craft beer from local breweries which can be enjoyed while sitting in or near the bar area or outside on the patio, if you order from their outside pouring station. They do not allow beer ordered inside to be taken outside as they serve in beer glass while outside they use plastic cups. I received good service on my visit. Their beer listing on the menu had the variety that I was looking for to get a flight. I enjoy beer flights (wherever available as long as the place has a good variety of beers). If you look at one of my photos of 'The Brews' (menu) for reference, I ordered their #5 (Yankee Leaper), #6 (Berm Side), #7 (Leap 'n Lime), and #9 (No Wake). They were all good in taste and to my liking. My most favorites were the Yankee Leaper and No Wake. The beer flight was reasonably priced. The atmosphere was nice. People were chill and friendly. They had some snacks available for purchase but I think you could bring some food from outside to enjoy with your beer (I saw someone with a box of pizza). I would highly recommend checking out Lock 32 if you happen to be in Erie Canal/ Penfield area. It's enjoyable and relaxing to be there while soaking in nice views (especially during warm weather months).

Unfortunately, this Mother's Day 5/10/26 experience was disappointing enough that I felt compelled to leave a review. We had reservations for 3:30 PM on Mother's Day, and in the special request section of the reservation, I clearly specified that this was a Mother's Day celebration. I also requested a quiet or private booth and mentioned that my daughter is vegetarian. Upon arrival, we were seated upstairs directly next to what appeared to be an employee service area. We could constantly hear employees talking, dishes being washed or thrown around, and overall it was easily the loudest table in the restaurant. What made this more frustrating was that another couple seated next to us complained loudly about their table and caused a scene. Although staff initially explained the restaurant was full, they were eventually moved. Meanwhile, we had politely requested a better table in advance through the reservation system, yet because we were patient and understanding, it felt like we were simply ignored. Service throughout the meal was inconsistent and inattentive. It took quite a while before anyone took our drink order. The wine menu presented to me only included wines by the glass, despite the fact that I later saw servers bringing full bottles of wine and champagne to other tables. I wanted to order a bottle of champagne for the occasion, but by the time our waitress finally arrived, I didn't want to complicate things further. Another detail that stood out was the complete lack of acknowledgment for Mother's Day. I overheard our waitress enthusiastically wishing other tables a "Happy Mother's Day" and asking if they were celebrating anything special, yet she never once acknowledged me or our celebration. My husband ordered a piña colada and was told they could not make one, so he settled for a strawberry martini that was overwhelmingly sweet and unenjoyable. We chose not to complain. The food itself, as always, was excellent and truly the highlight of the evening. However, the service continued to feel rushed and impersonal. I was planning to order my favorite espresso martini after dinner, but instead the bill was simply dropped at the table without anyone asking if we wanted dessert or another drink. One employee who was handling bread and water service also made us feel rushed. While I was literally still chewing my food, she interrupted to ask, "Should I bag that for you?" It made me feel like we were being pushed out. I was also disappointed that despite specifically mentioning my daughter was vegetarian in the reservation notes, our waitress never offered vegetarian suggestions or asked about dietary restrictions. At most upscale restaurants, this level of attentiveness is expected. The most upsetting part of the evening, however, was what felt like dismissive and unprofessional behavior toward us as Latinos. My husband has an accent, and our waitress repeatedly pretended not to understand him. At one point, after commenting on his accent, she laughed and said, "Or maybe I'm deaf." We found this rude, uncomfortable, and inappropriate for a restaurant of this caliber. Ironically, despite the poor experience, I still tipped over 20% -- more than $100 from our table alone -- because I did not want to reinforce unfair stereotypes about Latinos not tipping. Black & Blue has always justified its upscale pricing through excellent food and outstanding hospitality, which is why this experience was so disappointing. While the food remains exceptional, the atmosphere has become extremely loud and chaotic, to the point where it reminded me more of Red Lobster than the elevated dining experience this restaurant once offered. I truly hope management takes customer service more seriously moving forward, because this visit was nowhere near the standard Black & Blue used to represent.

They also have a surprisingly large food menu, but we just had cocktails and dessert. Drinks were just OK, but the desserts were great! Definitely recommend the chocolate raspberry cake. There was street parking available in front of the restaurant and on either side of the street. When we walked in the first thing I noticed was the decor. Everything was beautifully decorated and so welcoming. The bar was to the right and the host stand a little further up. I didn't get a picture when we walked in but there was the cutest orange stand and a sign with an arrow pointing to the host stand. They had live music that night and it was pretty busy. Once we were seated we did wait for some time before someone came to greet us but the person that sat us did bring us water. When someone came over they were very apologetic for the wait and let us know there may be a little delay with the food but was very proactive with making drink recommendations and took our food order before leaving the table. Our drinks were delicious! I got the coconut lime margarita and it was so flavorful. My friend got the espresso martini and she said it was so good. We enjoyed the music while we waited and all of the waitresses would check on us anytime they walked by. We ordered a second round of drinks and I got the pistachio martini and my friend got the crème brûlée martini and both were great. I really like this restaurant because they offer small plates so my friend and I picked a few we both wanted to try. We got the stuffed gnocchi flight, arancini classico, and ahi tuna martini. All 3 were 10/10 on the taste scale. My favorite of the gnocchi flight is the one with pesto. The arancini was so tasty and the sauce that came with them was a perfect pairing. The cilantro crema on the ahi tuna martini was the star of the dish. Overall, this was an incredible dining experience and I'd love to come again to try some items from their dessert menu and on a night with no live music.

She helped us develop a 4-course menu that was sure to have something for everyone, including vegan and allergy friendly options. Amy was our server for the evening, and she ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy our evening. The chairs in the Meyer's Den are wide and comfortable, the decor is dark and classy, and being in the basement away from the dining room made it very quiet and easy to converse with family. The room is rather spacious for 12 guests, but could also accommodate a few more people without feeling cramped. Out of the appetizers we selected, the Charred Octopus was very popular and everyone enjoyed it...even those that had never previously eaten octopus. The baby cauliflower dish was also a beautiful presentation, and quite large and enjoyable. The salads, particularly the Charred Hurricane salad, were nice light courses before the entree was served. As for the entrees, the filet mignon was a little on the dry side, but we really enjoyed the light and crispy spinach fritters that accompanied the beef. The doughnut bread pudding with apple pieces and vanilla ice cream was a delicious, decadent way to end the meal.
