Didn't get chef for 40 minutes and was very annoying and pissed me off super bad. Never coming here again

Confusing menu, couldn't order exactly what we wanted, long wait and the server was wearing plastic gloves the entire 1.5 hours we were there and they were filthy. Not worth the money, nearly $80 for what you see here

We went to Plum Garden to celebrate our daughter's birthday and were a party of five. Our reservation was at 7pm and we were seated fairly promptly. We had an incredible evening and both the service and food were fantastic! I had the Sukiaki Steak Dinner, a thinner cut of steak served with soup, salad, rice and vegetables. 2 people in our party had the chicken, the others.. shrimp and steak. Everything was tremendous and we had plenty left to enjoy the next day. I would definitely recommend dining here if you find yourself in the Pittsford area and craving delicious Japanese Cuisine.

We have been going to Plum Garden since the kids were babies and my son turned 30 today and asked to go for his birthday dinner. It's been about 10 years since we've been, but have gotten take out fried rice over the years. It was fun and food was great, as we all remembered. Service was attentive and our chef was entertaining, engaging and cooked us a great meal. One of our memories was having enough to have leftovers for lunch the next day, and the portions did not disappoint. Everyone had leftovers! Well done Plum Garden. We won't wait so long next time.

Stopped in the other night with some friends for dinner after work. We went for the Hibachi experience which was fun, scary, and delicious, lol. There is a regular seating area too, where you can just order off the menu, fyi. The cook was entertaining, and very experienced. I was a little nervous with the hot fire, and the knives moving so fast, but was great. We had shrimp, chicken, and steak with vegetables, all were fresh, hot and delicious, oh and the fried rice was phenomenal! Was a little pricey, but well worth the experience, and I took home leftovers and some sushi to go, will definitely be back.

This was our first time back to Plum Garden in 20 years! The staff was pleasant and the chef that served us was wonderful. He entertained, while serving up a great meal for us. Portions were more than generous- with lots of leftovers, which lasted us a few days. It was certainly an experience and a bit pricey, so it might be a special occasion kind of place for us in the future. We enjoyed it!

We ordered Shumai,Tempura appetizer, japanese soda, green tea, buckwheat noodle soup, chicken teryaki bento. Arigato gozaimasu!

Great time having lunch on a weekday. Good serving based on the price. Big serving. Accomodating service. Big space. Pittsford Plaza parking space. Clean and good spacing. We ordered Shumai,Tempura appetizer, japanese soda, green tea, buckwheat noodle soup, chicken teryaki bento. Looks like big sashimi and sushi bar, teppanyaki style on the other area. Playing oriental music for good ambience. Arigato gozaimasu!

Food is always consistently well made. Hibachi chefs are fun to watch. Some funnier than others, but always a good time.

*3.5 Stars* First…read moretime having hibachi in years. Waited 15 minutes for a spot, even after reserving the time spot ahead of time. Not the end of the world, but a little annoying. Service was friendly and the hibachi chef was pleasant. Not a big fan of getting refrigerated fried rice flung at your face, but I guess it's part of the experience. Not so tasty if you actually get it in your mouth. The hibachi show was okay, nothing crazy. The standard tossing and cracking egg on the spatula, along with the volcano onion. It was only the 4 of us, so maybe that's why there were less theatrics. The food was well seasoned and portions were large. Definitely enough food for two meals. I opted for the chicken and steak. We got a few shrimps tossed into the mix as well. Fried rice and veggies were good. Pricing is to be expected. Not sure how much it is elsewhere, but expect to pay $40-50 for a two protein combination. Maybe around $30 for one protein. Overall hibachi experience was positive. Food taste and service were good. The wait and lack of additional hibachi "theatrics" were a bit of a let down.

The first chef came out and cooked for the first table. We waited a good 20 mins until our chef came out. He was irritated and not very friendly. There was no entertainment. Food was overcooked and not very generous as the other table. Friend had egg allergy and waited a long time for his food as we were done eating. Waitress never came and asked us how things were and no drink refills. They added a trip already to our bills which I didn't like. She definitely did provide service for the tip that was added to my check. Restaurant was not very clean. Disappointed

The Chef was making our sushi in the front of the restaurant. Which is really important to me. A chef who doesn't hide his kitchen is confident in the quality of their food, and their cleanliness. I ordered 2 sushi rolls. I cannot remember which ones. But they were extremely fresh and tasty. I will think on it while typing and see if I remember. I have "Chemo Brain" so it hard. I know you're not supposed to have Sushi while on Chemo, but I have been craving it for weeks. I decided it was time for treat. My Dr told me yes, as long as I picked a top notch place. My husband is skeptical of sushi, so I ordered him shrimp fried rice, and Hibachi beef with veggies and rice. We ordered online, ahead of time while we were out running errands. We arrived early. We were graciously welcomed by both the Chef, and a very nice woman. We took it to go, and drove home. Super easy, and I think it is a husband and wife team. A very kind woman packed our bags. I was so happy that she put the Sushi In a separate bag, than the hot food. This might sounds simple, but it is a HUGE mistake that many restaurants make. I usually always get my sushi hot or salads wilted by steam when we order to go, so it was a nice treat, that care and common sense was used. The sushi was amazing. Ooh I remember now! lol. 1 of my dishes was a tempura roll, with Tuna on top, Avocado, and spicy sauce. The 2nd dish was similar, but made with real crab meat. It had something in it that gave it nice crunch. May have been tempura chips. My husband liked the shrimp fried rice, they chopped the shrimp up small, so at first he didn't see any. But he liked the flavors. He said it made the flavor more consistent. The Beef Hibachi dish, he said wasn't worth it. Too little beef. There were a lot of squash in the mixed veggies. He is not a squash fan. I helped him eat it and I liked it. But I can see that the portions are not "Big man" sized. Which I knew taking him there. But Japanese food is not usually pig out plates. It's nice healthy food. That's is what I wanted, and since I am sick, I got what I wanted. haha! He actually really enjoyed my Sushi. He didn't finish the shrimp fried rice, so he cooked up some chicken later that evening, and mixed it with the shrimp fried rice. we ate again as a 2nd meal. It was delicious. We both decided they have excellent sushi, one of the best places I've had in Rochester. We will be coming back again. We will probably stick with Sushi and maybe try their noodles. I think next time we will eat there. Even though we had some things we didn't care for. I did want to judge the menu, until we try more of it. It was touted on Google and Yelp as a sushi restaurant, not as a full service Japanese restaurant. As a result I am giving a pass on what we didn't like. Because what we did like was AMAZING.

Nothing spilled, everything still looked fresh, which already put me in a good mood. Now the food... I cannot believe how good the lobster roll is. If you haven't had it, you haven't lived. It's that kind of good. Like pause mid-bite, close your eyes, what is happening right now kind of delicious. The miso soup was a whole experience by itself. Warm, comforting, and it just felt nourishing. Not just something on the side, but something you actually appreciate with every sip. And the Brussels sprouts... I added just a little soy sauce and wow. Completely took them to another level. So simple but so good. This is one of those places where everything hits. Fast delivery, great packaging, and food that actually lives up to the hype. I'm already bookmarking this spot.

You are seated at a tablet in front of a conveyor belt with the sushi making it's way around the restaurant. You can take whatever catches your eye as it passes in front of you, or you can order from the tablet. If you order from the tablet, little cars bring the food on a second, higher conveyor belt above the first one, or sometimes a robot brings it to your seat. So there are 2 moving belts, robots, and servers. It's a lot! Fun, but be aware. It is cool that you can see things moving past and try different things. The plates on the belt are also less than a full order, which means you can try more things, if that's your style. Service is pretty quick since you're helping yourself from the belt. They do a good job making sure there is a variety of items on the belt and seemed to restock pretty quickly. You can mostly chose from rolls and nigiri. I do like American style rolls, and enjoyed the options. The guy prefers nigiri. We ordered some tempura and picked some nigiri from the menu as well. I really enjoyed the veggie tempura. They have good salmon - we tried the peppered salmon, which he thought was too much, but was smokey and peppery, and I enjoyed. There was also a spicy yellowtail, and plain salmon that was also nice quality. We shared an ice cream sundae with one of the little fish shaped cakes for dessert, which was really good. I liked the little cake with the red bean paste inside. It was fun and pretty low key.

I chose this place because it offers not only sushi but also some dim sum dishes. It's a great place to try something new. We waited almost an hour for a seat on a busy night, but since it's an all-you-can-eat restaurant, I think it was reasonable. There were about 10 people ahead of me on the waiting list, and the food quality remained delicious throughout the meal. The service was also keeping up with the demand. The sashimi was incredible. I can't say I don't like any sashimi, but I love them all. Almost every sushi and sashimi we ordered was delicious. However, there's one thing I don't care for: the sticky rice shumai/shu mai. We think it's lacking in flavor. Overall, we had a great time at this restaurant. The food was delicious, and the service was good. I do think there's room for improvement in the dessert menu. I was impressed with the interior and decor. Modern, clean and spacious. The orange chairs give it some brightness and energy. However the restaurant was somewhat dimly lit. The menu is pretty huge. Lots of Chinese food options and a variety of different types of soup noodles to choose from. I opted for the Beef Brisket with rice noodles in the tomato soup base. It was tangy and well-portioned. It definitely fixed my soup noodle craving. However, the broth was a little bit oily and missing that umami / depth of flavor I was looking for.
