Contacted Plumbing Boys to reconnect a spa gas line to the main meter and to install an earthquake valve after the gas meter was replaced by So Cal Gas. I called on Wednesday afternoon and by Thursday the work was complete. Daniel came out to check the work needed and immediately went on the hunt for the earthquake valve. I needed a large 1.5" valve to accommodate not only the house, but the spa as well. Daniel was able to locate it and had the valve on hand the next day. I got everything I requested and was back up in running in 1 day. They honored the yelp deals as well from previous check in's from work performed earlier in the year. Version A: I had a small problem and they fixed it. We are all hopeful it stays fixed, but was given future options. All is good. No charge. Version B: My kitchen faucet became loose. It has been repaired by two other professional plumbers but in both cases the repair only lasted a short time. Frustrated, I called Plumbing Boys and dramatically expressed my dismay at not being able to find a plumber who can adequately tighten a faucet! The man on the phone said "If you can wait until Friday, I can swing by, I know a trick!" Awesome. Friday rolls around, a sunny morning, quiet street. Should be hearing from the Plumbing Boys any time now.... White van with Plumbing Boys on the side pulls up in front of my neighbor's house across the street. Then a second van pulls up in front of my house. I'm thinking its quite a coincidence that my neighbors also called Plumbing Boys. Silly me. I look out the window to see 2 men from one van and 3 from the other van, all walking up to my front door. Five plumbers showing up to tighten my kitchen faucet. Nice. I laughed and greeted them at the front door with a 'what the heck' expression - and they laughed and said 'we just want to make sure its done right given its history'. Three men turned out to be enough for the job, and they spent a good 15 minutes and one trip to the truck working on it. The threads are stripped at this point so no guarantee that it will stay, but they did what they could and were professional and polite to one another and to me. I'm certain I'll call them again as plumbing problems are a fact of life, and if interacting with pleasant professional plumbers is something you appreciate, you should call them too. Bonus Points for making me laugh. And so far, so good on the faucet - it's been about a month. read more

After returning from vacation we had an overflow and found water on the living room wooden floor. I was desperate! I called a friend for some references for a good plumber as she had some plumbing work done previously. She referred me to Tony, owner of Plumbing Boys. I called Tony and Tony was great! Daniel offered options, but ultimately did what I asked which was to teardown an old leaking porcelain fixture (leaking in multiple places with metal corrosion hampering an easy fix) and replace/restore functionality. Best plumbers I have ever used. I have now had them finish three projects for me, and every one was done well and was fairly priced. Most recently, my hot water heater wasn't working. I thought it was caused by the pilot light blowing out during the recent winds we had, so I attempted several times to relight it. But no hot water. I finally called Plumbing Boys and they came out and determined that the issue was the burner assembly (the flame that heats the water). Water had gotten into it and ruined it. There is a home warranty company involved, so they suggested I get in touch with them first. (Honesty points). I did, and they sent another company out to diagnose the problem. He came back with the same diagnosis and said he'd submit to the warranty company. He did, but the warranty company refused to replace because another plumber had "touched" the heater before their company did and could have "ruined" it. Don't buy American Home Shield warranties...unethical people. In any event, Plumbing Boys got a phone call the next day and I asked them to replace the burner assembly. They ordered the part and were in constant contact to let me know the status of the order. When they got it, they were here within the hour to install it. If I had used another company, I guarantee we'd still be without hot water right now. And the guys who came were super professional, as was Tony (the supervisor/owner?). read more

Short of it is Tony and his team came through for me with courtesy, professionalism, and patience. I'd recommend their services without reservation. My experience: I had no idea I'd be in dire need for plumbing services and the timing + circumstances were terrible. I bought my place (condo) about a month ago. I got home after work around 6pm and it was raining hard in LA throughout the day. After stepping inside, I saw my kitchen floor under a quarter inch of water. One of the hoses under the sink had ripped off the associated valve and the valve itself was faulty so I couldn't turn off the water. I discovered that the shut-off valve for my unit was corroded and not one of my neighbors knew where the main was. My neighbors and I got on Yelp and since it was after hours, many plumbing businesses were already closed. Since it was raining hard all day, those who were operating had all their technicians out to assist with emergencies throughout town. I had 3 people who said they could help cancel on me after I waited about 15 mins for each. At this point I've got friends and family helping me dry the floors and toss out water I'm manually collecting via my vacuum hose into a bucket. Hot mess. Finally got a hold of PlumbingBoys. Tony quickly assessed the dire nature of my needs and dispatched his technician. I asked him to tell if they're just stringing me along because I couldn't afford another cancellation. He said "When we take a job we follow through." I won't forget that. His technician, Gary, sent me a Google link so I could see exactly where he was in real time. He arrived 16 mins after I called and immediately shut off the main valve. He started working on repairs and even though he was drenched in cold rain water, he just hustled. He explained what happened and what I can expect. He gave me recommendations and answered my questions. The price was very reasonable considering the time of day, and length of time taken to complete service. There was no downtime. World Class Service! I can't say enough about Josh and the Plumbing Boys. We had one of our two water heaters go south on us, so I called them in the morning, hoping they could come out sometime today. Well, Josh was at our doorstep within 45 minutes to help. Turns out the problem was bigger than we thought, as the basement was flooded to nine inches. No problem for Josh as he said "this is going to take a day to fix and let's get started". Wow! Josh and another helper went to work pumping out our basement, and then proceeded to install a new first class water heater system that is probably the most "to code" system we have in the house! He removed it quickly and checked all my prior work, as well as gave me additional helpful tips about when and when not to use plumber's tape, the amount of plumber's putty to use, how to properly turn a building's water back on, the tools to use to get leverage on frozen-on fixtures, and more. He also quickly and expertly replaced the frozen-on valves on my washer, and he was a blast to talk to the entire time. When I called they were quick to dispatch a plumber to our house to look at the situation within 3 hours. Josh was great. He thoroughly explained the work that needed to be done, gave us several options on how we could fix the issue and was extremely courteous and professional. Excellent Customer Service! We just arrived at our new house and had no hot water. The gas company sent 2 technicians who couldn't solve the problem. I called Tony at Plumbing Boys late on a Friday night. He was great. He carefully and patiently talked me through several fixes to try to restart the system. These didn't work, so he arranged one of his team to stop by Saturday morning as soon as practical. Gary from Plumbing Boys arrived Saturday morning, and quickly disassembled the system and found the problem. He was able to restart the system and we had hot water restored at a very reasonable price. Since he was so helpful, we asked about two unrelated problems. He carefully put on boot covers, and took a look at these two items - giving us great advice for no additional charge.
