Cory is awesome! He made my hair and the color exactly the way I wanted! I know for my hair or most Asian hair it's really hard to get the color I wanted (grey) so I had to come back again, but it was well worth it. Even the haircut was amazing, as I wanted my hair exactly how Cory has his, so it was easy to tell him what I wanted. Overall it took around 7 hours to finish my hair. This is my first time at this establishment, it is a nice little place on 5th ave. Cory was very nice and I love his personality. He made the 2 visits and 7 hours time seem like an hour! I'm sure the other salonists are awesome as well, but Cory definitely got me hooked! I will be coming back in the future for more touchups and what not. Frank did a great job to color and highlight my hair. I highly recommend him! I had a blond hair, and I asked his opinion about what color will be good on me and I gave him a chance to do whatever he wants to do. He spent about 3-4 hours only on my hair and when he finished, I was amazed! It was the color that I exactly wish to have. I also had a very weak and damaged hair, but after coloring my hair by Frank, it gets stronger, thicker, and softer. Their costumer service is great as well. I paid for parking only for 2 hours but because I wasn't done yet, he went and extended my permit which was very nice of him. I will definitely be coming back here again. read more

Sorry Sum K... but the pictures are REAL! I usually don't write reviews, but I have received so many compliments, I wanted to make sure everyone knows about Jenni's talent with color! That's when I saw the review written by Sum K. Curious, I read her review and was shocked to see that she used my "Before/After" photo in her false accusation that the pictures were fake and of two different women. I guess I can understand... I assume that's why I got so many compliments by family and friends :) They couldn't believe the transformation either! I went from having ugly, long brown hair (with 12 months of regrowth) to beautiful, bright blonde hair in less than 3 hours. Diego is my go-to! I usually come in with 2 hairstyles I can't decide on, and Diego does a great job of narrowing it down to 1 and making it look good. I have serious issues with my bangs (I never know how short or long to keep them) and Diego is very patient with me and snips a little extra when I ask him to. He even tells me to come in if I don't like the length of my bangs within a week of my haircut so he can fix them for free. That's love. Hehe He gave me highlights the first time I saw him and a subtle ombré the second time. Both jobs were amazing! He really understands what styles are flattering for the individual and you seriously can't put a price on an eye like his. Frank has been doing my hair since 2010. Even after moving an hour and a half away I make the trip down. Rena at Plush is A. MAZE. ING! I can't say enough good things about her. I came in for my first crazy hair color ever and she took excellent care of me. Even after some hefty bleaching my hair feels so soft and healthy. I was there for about 7 hours total and it was a blast chatting and hanging out with her. As for the color...It's INCREDIBLE! It is the most "natural" looking unnatural color I've ever seen. The time and care it took to achieve this never ceases to amaze me. After a couple days when I wanted to tweak the color a bit (just a personal preference, there was nothing wrong with it) Rena fit me right in and and didn't even charge me extra for the visit. The color has faded beautifully and I couldn't be happier. I work in video games and at a recent convention I got countless compliments on my hair from other ladies who made the mistake of trying to color their hair at home. I recently had my first experience having my hair done with Jenny at Plush. I have a lot of hair, and it is long with many different textures... predominately curly, frizzy underneath the base of the back of my head, and volume naturally all over. Think of Cher in "Turn Back Time," but I don't have to try to make it look that way! Jenny not only took the time to wash, blow dry, flat iron my hair, so that she could see the actual length before doing the cut... she clearly knew what she was doing with hair like mine. The atmosphere and other stylists that work there, are welcoming and they all made my experience a great one. Hi everyone, I came to this salon yesterday just for hair styling. I liked that they were accommodating in my last minute appointment, however the stylist just ignore what I asked for and went ahead to do the most mediocre blowout hairstyle. I complaint with him right away why would he not able to do the beach waves hairstyle I asked for and he couldn't stop making excuses and lying on how it was not possible because of my hair type, which is not true because I have naturally manageable, with volume and wavy hair plus other stylists have done that hairstyle for me before. It was a very special day for me so I decided not to continue the argument since it was obviously that he did not wanted to the job at all. On my way out I saw other hairstylist doing the hairstyle I wanted, I should have asked her to fix it for me but too late, I ended out walking out unhappy, with my better than nothing blowout hairstyle. I had my gf choose three other stylists before Cory AND I just went to whoever on whatever day I felt like it at whatever crap barber was offering a deal. To be honest at this point I didn't care. I have been going to Plush Salon for the past year. I don't always have the time or money to get my hair done on a regular basis, so it's important to have a color that will grow out in a natural way. I first went to see Frank who knows color and how hair will grow out with it. He is fabulous, friendly and runs an amazing salon. After giving me partial highlights he had gone the extra mile without me even asking to make sure I had beach hair for a party I was going to following my appointment. Embarrassing moment--When I switch purses I have a bad habit of leaving things in the old one. After my appointment I was surprised to not see my wallet in my bag. Frank told me to go have fun and come back the next day to pay. I was so appreciative! I began seeing Aisha (pronounced eye-sha ;) ) as it worked with my schedule the next time. Reminding me of one of my sisters, she is personable, smart and driven and although a hair appointment isn't about having the sweetest person in the world, let's be honest--this is someone you'll be sharing your life stories for a few hours with! I requested my hair blonder around the face and she executed this with no strange lines and a beautiful blonde color. I have gotten so many compliments from friends and family just in the last week. People just keep thinking I look tanner. ;) The location of this salon is on 5th Avenue in Banker's Hill on the north end of down town. What looks like it was once a house, this clean, open space salon neighbors a cute Spa and entices you to explore the neighborhood around it. You are normally able to find free parking either on the street or around the block, but if you have to walk it is a safe neighborhood not too far from Balboa Park. Cory is my lifesaver. I walked out of a different salon the night before looking like a hot mess. I had non-intentional orange hair and I was on the verge of tears because I have an engagement party and photos coming up. I was able to get in with Cory the next day right after work. He has the best (for lack of a better term) bedside manner! - What is that called for hairstylists??... Either way, his personality rocks. He is very understanding of what I went through and was patient with fixing everything (it ended up being quite a process). I walked out feeling like a million bucks. I recently went back to him again with my mother for a cut and color (both of us), and he knocked it out of the park again. He's stuck with me now. In response to Sum K.....she included my before and after in her alleged "fake" before and after collection. NOT TRUE. My picture is the before and after where she says "This testimony are two different people ... The before is dark skinned... The after is a lighter toned lady..." I can tell you that the photo is absolutely me, on the same day, taken within a couple hours of one another. One was taken in the salon and the other outside (so we could really see the highlights in the sun), hence the apparent difference in skin tone. Clearly, I needed my hair done badly and Jenni Kim did a FANTASTIC job, as always! I have been going to Plush for a couple years now and absolutely LOVE my hair every time I walk out.
