Don't go there for carryout !!! Ordered quickly from a server in the bar area. Was told it would take 10 minutes. This was at 4.15pm on a Thursday night. 30 minutes later still no food. Big portions and not a long wait. We had a party of 4 and originally were told 40 mins on a Saturday night around 6 pm, to be expected, we actually only waited 20 minutes. My partner and I each had a taco and burrito combo, we made it through the taco but tapped out mid point in the burrito. My brother had 3 empanadas and they were bigger than a dollar Bill each! This place is a hidden gem... recently opened in June of 2010, my brother, his gf, and I were looking for a good Mexican restaurant in the Acworth area... the first place I went into around here had a health inspector score of 84... naturally, we turned around and walked away immediately... and then... my brother spots the sign for Poblano's off of 41, so we thought we would give it a try. It was kind of hidden, so I don't think most people see it right off... but OMG, am I glad he spotted it! Seriously, I have been looking on Yelp for the restaurant since we went there first, a week ago, and finally decided I must add it. You all must know how amazing this place is! ... and no, I don't think I've ever been to a Mexican restaurant to where I even felt the need to review... they're pretty much either really bad or okay in my experience. So, what made this so fantastic?! First, the chips... OMG, the chips... I'm not even sure what they do... but they are AMAZING! The salsa is fantastic, too... and the wait staff (while they were laughing at us) had no problem bring out as much as we wanted... which was a LOT... oh... and yeah, the leftovers... we put the chips in the fridge with the leftovers, and yes, the chips were STILL fantastic the next day... after being in the fridge overnight! They're like magic chips! Okay... and the drinks are just absolutely amazing, of course... and the entrees were perfect, too... the cheese dip and guacamole is to-live-for... All I'm saying is go to there... you will not be sorry! I had the vegetarian cuisine, and my brother and gf had their meat dishes... and we all were going, "OMG" upon our first bites... and then, throughout the meal... and then, again when we went last night... The phone call yesterday went, "So, Ingrid... we were wondering if you wanted to hang out and eat the most AWESOME Mexican food ever again?!" ... to which I replied with... "UM, yeah! OMG... Dropped in for lunch a couple of weeks ago. Quickly seated, food delivered quickly, tasty chips and salsa. The chile relleno was delicious. The burrito, not so much. Server noticed I didn't eat but half the burrito when he came to take plates. Mentioned to him I found it incredibly bland and he took it off the bill without me asking. Server was top notch throughout the meal...his standing up for a good experience by taking food off the bill was impressive. I'll definitely go back because this was the first disappointing meal I've had here. read more

Poblanos is definitely our "go to" Mexican restaurant. The food is great and the service could not be better. Very attentive and friendly staff. Cheyla and Juan Carlos are top notch! My husband's favorite meals are the steak fajitas and carnitas. Their carnitas are so very tender and very tasty and unlike any he has eaten before. My favorite is chicken quesadilla....just yummy and always consistent! Our child loves their chicken fingers and french fries and not to mention the balloon and treat after each meal! Love the punch card for loyal customers. Every eighth meal is free!! Would highly recommend this restaurant! :) read more

I really love the food here! Especially their guac, just delicious! The best part is their prices-- super affordable for great mexican food. However, I'm not a big fan of their queso. First I should preface this review by saying that I judge Mexican food restaurants on 3 things (1) Salsa (2) House Margaritas (3) Fajitas...And in that order The salsa is fresh & made daily if I was guessing...While it is mild, it is consistantly good...Chips too! The margaritas are AMAZING...And Cheap! During lunch I think they're $3.25...And all day on Tuesday. Served in frosted mugs, strong & not too bitter...The top shelf is obviously a little more tasty, but you do not get a better margarita at that price. The Fajitas are STUNNING. The meat is marinated lightly, lean, high quality meat, & served with the best peppers/onions (on the skillet)...I really don't know why they are SOOO good...They've still got a bit of crunch to them, not oily in the least....Just really great. Service can be hit or miss (in speed), but the staff members are always incredibly nice & knowlegable in their product. All in All...I LOVE Poblanos...There is not a better Tex Mex restaurant in the Atlanta area. PS...In reference to the comment from Tanju...I was not raised on fast food, nor do I eat it now. My wife and I have been to most every Mexican restaurant in Cobb County and Poblanos is our absolute favorite. The food is next level at the same price point and the service is always fantastic. Our waitress Daniella was on point, cool, and super friendly. I can't say enough how much we love this place. It's very unassuming on the exterior, but far superior in every other way. read more

Most places in this area have dropped mask protocol so you can wear it if you want but there is some distance between the tables to provide for social distance. I had the shrimp quesadilla and it was DELICIOUS! Utensils could've been a bit cleaner. read more

A guy in a liquor store was wearing a Poblano's tee shirt. The store clerk, stocking shelves, noticed the customer and called out "I've been going to Poblano's forever!" "It's awesome," said the tee-shirt wearer. So, when we happened to drive by Poblano's at lunchtime, we didn't hesitate to stop. I don't know if I'd say it's "awesome," but it was pretty good. Our half pitcher of frozen margaritas was just as I like it: potent, fruity and well-priced. I ordered the Monterrey chicken salad, which I enjoyed, though it's obviously nothing to base a Mexican restaurant review on. (grilled chicken, bacon, avocado, lettuce, cabbage.) They serve the dressing in a tortilla chip ramekin, which I thought a nice touch. T. ordered combination 6: an enchilada with chili relleno, rice and beans. He said there was too much cheese -- I thought the chili tasted like eggplant parmesan! -- but aside from that, he enjoyed his meal. There are very few Mexican restaurants I'd go out of my way for -- including Poblano's -- but if I'm in the area, I think it's a good option. read more

One of the finest Mexican restaurants around and I've been to many including Mexico! Gustavo runs the place and it is a simple type menu with individual and combination meals. All great from my trying the majority of the menu. My favorite items are Chicken and Steak. The friendly staff make you feel welcomed! Poblanos Mexican grill has top notch food a very long menu and nothing on it I can find is not delicious and I've tried many things. The employees are all really attentive and caring. The owners walk around the restaurant and ask everyone how everything was. When you have owners who care that much about every person that comes in to there business it's a recipe for success. The menu is broad and literally has an option for any and everyone. Even if you have a party of people and some one doesn't want "Mexican" they have many other "American" options. This is my go to place. I live close by and would choose Poblanos over any other Hispanic restaurant around. The effort and the care is there every time and you don't see it anywhere else. read more

This restaurant doesn't take reservations but it probably should --- It gets very busy in the evenings and there can be a long wait .... It's not fancy or sophisticated but the food is generally good - have eaten here a number of times. The staff are virtually all from Latin America and are very polite and helpful, the margaritas are excellent, and the prices are a bit lower than usually seen. It has become increasingly popular in the past couple of years. read more

6/27/2022 - The purpose of this review is not to comment on the food or food service.. Unfortunately, my wife and I were unable to eat here. We had 1.5 hours before an appointment when we arrived. It was a Monday night, but still busy. My wife checked the wait time and added our name to the waitlist and was told 15-20 minutes. That was plenty of time to be seated, take our order and enjoy our meal before a nearby appointment. However, 15-20 minutes turned into 25 minutes, then 30 minutes, then 35 minutes... We knew that we were running out of time and depending on service at a restaurant we had not visited before, we couldn't take the chance. We ended up removing our name from the waitly app (helpful app), and went to McAllisters. After ordering there and sitting down waiting for our food, we received a text notification from Poblanos saying our table was now ready. I am very happy for Poblanos that they are busy and so many people are enjoying their food. We look forward to going again when we have no appointments, so we too can enjoy their food. However, being told 15-20 minutes when that was not even close was very frustrating. I much prefer to be told a higher wait time and then BEFORE the time they estimated... we are called early. I would recommend Poblanos be liberal in their estimation in wait time and not conservative. We will be back, and I hope to give a full review based on the whole experience. read more

Guacamole delicious, service inattentive, entrees terrible. I ordered the Pollo Mango... they butterflied the tiny chicken breast and cooked it until it was jerky, inedible. Also ordered Enchiladas Supreme, it was served cold and flavorless, no enchilada sauce. There were 2 other entrees that missed the mark as well. Definitely skip the entrees...
