We just moved from the Bay Area California and this is BY FAR the best Korean food and experience we've ever had. The service is astounding, the ambiance is like you went to Seoul and were eating a local mom and pop shop. And to top it off, the food is extraordinary. I almost didn't want to write this review lol and give this hidden gem away. Tucked on the side of a grocery store, you'll find it. Enjoy-get everything from the fried chicken, scallion pancake, and pork belly with all the banchan side dishes. We shall be back

If you're looking for delicious Korean food in the Pittsburgh area then you have to check out POCHA Korean by Kye-Won! It's definitely a hike from the city but I promise it's worth the drive. The building is attached to a grocery store and the inside is small and has a Grist House taproom as well. There's some bar seating, a couple of smaller tables inside, and outdoor seating with an outdoor tent. The food and the hospitality were both excellent! We had a feast and tried well over half the menu so it's hard to pick a favorite but I absolutely adored the delightfully crispy Korean fried chicken wings, the Korean BBQ, the ramen, and the airy and lightly sweet bingsu desserts. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Our only regret is not having room for more but we will definitely be back!

POCHA by Kye-Won is a casual Korean restaurant that sort of shares space with Grist House Beer Market and Sprankle's Neighborhood Market. (The word "pocha" means a Korean street vendor or food stall.) Its menu lists appetizers such as Korean fried chicken wings and Pajeon scallion pancake; their signature Pocha meal of rice, glass noodles, and choice of protein; warm bowls such as ramen and curry rice; burgers and hotdogs; Korean BBQ (in an outside tent); sides such as kimchi and banchan; and dessert of bingsu. Dining in and takeout are available. My husband and I ate one lunch here. An employee promptly greeted us. We sat at a spacious and clean table. Our waiter spoke very nicely with us throughout our service. (We learned that many of the employees here are graduates of Penn State.) Our appetizer was Mandu, six pan-fried pork dumplings with tofu, sprouts, scallions, onions, and soy dipping sauce. My main course was Bibimbap, a bowl that contained rice, pickled vegetables, gochujang chili paste, dippy egg, and my choice of protein of chicken. My husband's main course was the signature pocha meal of rice, glass noodles, and his choice of protein of bulgogi beef. Unfortunately, when I ordered the bingsu, the employees told me that they were not set up to make it. Last year my husband and I vacationed in South Korea and ate authentic Korean foods, and we think that Pocha's foods were comparably very good.

Cute spot to enjoy the weather. Great food: wings, dumplings and plate. Sauces were very flavorful. My son said the wings were very crispy. Reminded me of my Korean aunt's cooking.

This is one of those places you want to keep to yourself...but I must share the amazing food, welcoming atmosphere and personable staff. Kye-Won welcomes you into her "home" and makes you feel like you are long time friends. No doubt, the best Wings in Butler County, Maybe all of Pittsburgh and surrounding. You must get the Sweet Gochujang Sauce (Spicy) on the side. Flavor Explosions from the BiBimBap. Pair that with a @gristhouse brew

Well Kye-Won definitely did her homework. Location ... middle of nowhere, why compete in. Pittsburgh with all the rest. Drop it in a beautiful little town of Saxonburg Pa. I'm so glad I drove over. Stick overnight in kittaning. This place shares a room with a micro brewery. Small but man was it busy ! Good for you Kye-Won! The food was absolutely fantastic authentic Korean! Friendly people crazy awesome food and a quiet town. How does it get any better than this ! God bless your business!

In town helping my Mom recover from Surgery. Had a sampling a few years ago at West Fest. Food is tremendous. BiBimBap was amazing. Great snap to the veggies. Very flavorful!

From the moment I looked at the menu, my instincts told me this place would outshine many of the nearby Korean restaurants and I was right! The first bite of the fresh and flavorful banchan (side dishes) immediately proved it. This small family-owned restaurant delivers genuine hospitality and warm service, if not efficient. We tried the seafood pancake, marinated kalbi(beef), tofu/seafood spicy stew, dolsot bibimbap w/chicken(mixed rice with vegetables in a clay pot), grilled mackerel, and pork bossam( lettuce wrap with braised pig's feet). Everything was absolutely delicious except for the bossam, which was a bit too fatty for our taste. Still, my family of five thoroughly enjoyed the experience of dining at this authentic Korean spot. It's a wonderful place for family gatherings, dinner with friends, or even dining solo. They do not have a liquor license, and while walk-ins are welcome, reservations are recommended for larger parties. Definitely worth a visit!

The server was really kind and checked up on us multiple times throughout the night. We ordered so many things from the menu and the portion sizes were generous to say the least. My favorite was the Japchae glass noodles. I've been to restaurants in the past where the noodles end up being too sticky but these had the perfect consistency and delicious sesame flavor. I will note that it was a little warm in the restaurant so in the summer combined spiciness would be an experience, but the food was worth it in my opinion.

Unlike some other hot pot places I've been to, this place only charges for one pot and not for the food you get. I ordered everything that was available and it was all better then the last. I would especially recommend the pork, it was delicious! I had 3 orders of it. As I mentioned before, the food is delicious! While I couldn't get a photo, there was also a sauce bar. You had the option to get a premade one or get your own. I chose to make a teriyaki sauce and it was amazing! Definitely recommend checking it out while waiting for food to arrive. The waiter was so nice, I didn't catch his name but rest assured all of the staff is so nice and kind! They are very informative and know what dishes are good and bad. Now for the part that is hardest to nail down, the restaurant ambiance. I normally don't write about ambiance because to describe an amazing place to someone with just a few words is hard to do, but I felt I had to do it for this one. The restaurant looks very authentic and it is clear that they respect the culture that they represent.

I wouldn't really call this a supper club to be honest but the place definitely carries a house music bar vibe and the back bar area and seating is very dimly lit, perfect for cozying up and enjoying a drink late night. The ladies' room was so dark, I mistook it for a storage area because I could only make out a white ladder in the corner that was being used as cute shelving. The place is seat yourself. Our waiter was not super friendly and didn't offer to give us napkins or anything when our wobbly table caused our drinks to splash all over the place. The cook served our chicken with a big smile and happy interaction and we really loved his personality. The bartender also stopped by to bus our table and he was very pleasant as well. We enjoyed the perfectly fried small plate cauliflower with the plum sauce and the fried cheese/garlic wonton bites with the sriracha mayo spicy dipping sauce. The fried chicken breast on the large plate was slightly overcooked with a maple gochuchang sauce that was very bland. We were so thankful that the large plate fried chicken came with a side salad to offer some respite from the heaviness of the fried dishes. It would have been great to have some side acidic or fresh vegetable options like Kimchi or something. Maybe we tried the wrong dishes and there are other not fried things that are delicious? The dirty martini cocktail was just so-so, not really much flavor at all, but the mojito was very good and refreshing. It's probably a good late-night place for a bite and drink.
