Back again on my recent visit to Chicago from Boise. We stopped by for breakfast and got the full service Saturday meal. Pancakes for sharing, Chorizo Benedict, Chilaquiles all the way and more. Wonderful service and excellent brunch food. My friends and I came here on Mexican Independence Day and the place was crowded, but we didn't have to wait too long for a table. I had the fried chicken and French toast and couldn't decide between the regular and habanero maple syrup, so our server gave me some of both at no extra charge. The chicken was excellent - juicy and tender with a nice crispy coating. French toast was tasty as well. This was my first time here and I'd definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a brunch spot in Pilsen. read more

This is an apartment converted to a restaurant. It's very nominally air conditioned, so, maybe stop on a cool day. The chicken and French toast has excellent boneless, spicy, moist flakey chicken. The French toast is decent, but, I'd prefer it a bit more flavorful and just a little sweet to contrast the chicken. Hibiscus lemonade was really nice as well. read more

i've been here on multiple occasions over the past year and have enjoyed my time and meal each time! the most recent time was mid july. we ordered the empanadas for our starter. they were so tasty, great texture and flavor. for our meals we had the steak skillet and the shakshouka. both of them were amazing!! no notes, would definitely get again. the service is always good and they are very attentive. they play latin music and there's great energy inside. i do wish they had an espresso maker for lattes. other than that this is a great brunch spot for any day of the week! read more

So delicious! I come here almost every week for brunch. Staff is so nice and welcoming. We typically never have to wait and even if we do, it's less than 10-15 minutes even on the weekends. A great addition to the Pilsen brunch scene that has quickly become a favorite for me. Food is classic but exciting, combining Mexican with American comfort. You are sure to find something to meet everyone's taste. Service was attentive and friendly, with great suggestions. Music was at a comfortable level and the space is wonderfully decorated. First visit today. Overall food was good. A little bit on the expensive side for basic food but oh well that's the case for most places now. Only thing that left a bad impression is the young male waiter who was friendly asked the table next to us to leave because there were people waiting. They were there maybe 30 minutes since we saw them arrive. If they or us were camped there for two hours maybe but a 30-40 stay I think is not unreasonable. read more

Amazing breakfast and lunch right off the train line and next to the Mexican Art Museum. Parking is easy right around the corner or next to the park. They're always full but the wait is never long and they have a bar to eat alone. I've only been on weekends I image they're a little less busy during the week. Even though it's busy, it's still a great place for a date or anniversary and never too loud. I'm pretty sure they're BYOB and the store across the street sells liquor. I love their cafe de olla and drinks though. They've been around a while and just moved to Pilsen. Their take on classic dishes is always elevated and 10/10. I had the chilaquiles plate and the salsa was rich and a cloud in my mouth. I had never had a more luxurious experience and I've had chilaquiles hundreds of times. The French toast and chicken was amazing, it had a spicy maple syrup. We ate deviled eggs as an appetizer. Our friends loved the burger, fries and skillet. They had special menu items for Easter. The kitchen is visible from the seating and very clean, fast moving. I will be coming back during the week and updating my review. The food is not bad, but it's also not great like La Quebrada or Catedral. My two friends and I have been here twice. We ordered chilaquiles both times. The sauce is, well, I can't say what it is for sure, but it feels maybe too sweet or something. It tastes like the salsa one buys at the grocery store. I do like that they use queso cotija and queso fresco, but that's about it. What I really don't like is the service. The staff is overworked and it shows. Our waitress was very irritable at 10am, spoke to us in am agry manner as she rushed us through our order. But even before our waitress got to our table, there was a memorable exchange with one of her coworkers. I saw a guy near the water station, next to our table, and asked him for some water. We had been sitting there for a while without water or coffee, so I thought it would be ok. Well, he obviously disagreed because he said with a bad attitude, "your waitress will be with you soon." He could have just handed us some water. There were multiple glasses literally rught there next our table. I could have reached oher to grab them but didn't want to be rude. So we waited a few minutes after that for our water. The worst moment was after we finished our mediocre dishes. We ate very fast cos we wanted time to enjoy some coffee. We ate for 10mins to be exact. As we were finishing, the waitress came to our table and said, "we're going to be needing this table in ten minutes." I told her that I wanted coffee and that we would stay until I finished my meal. How rude! read more

Upon arrival, we were told it would be a 30-40 minute wait. It actually ended up being over an hour. Unfortunately they don't take reservations. The food was okay. Chicken was too salty for me. My mother asked for sour cream for her chilaquiles she got back vanilla cream. The prices are ridiculous for chilaquiles/steak 30 dollars! Not once did someone come ask if we needed anything else.
