If I could give pocket burger 10 stars I really would but 5 will do. They are #1 in my head for so so so many reasons. Like forget ordering a side of ranch @ my fellow ranch friends; they give you the whole mf BOTTLE. It isn't some hidden valley bs either-- it's that good good. The owners & their daughter are so kind & so REAL. I love it. They are the ones who make pocket burger such a special spot. There was one time my boyfriend asked if he could add chipotle sauce from a fish burger to the pocket & the owner said something along the lines of "no we won't do that-- those are not the flavors you want trust us" like ok hell ya. I love & have mad respect for owners who know their food & what works and what doesn't. They have no problem telling you like it is & I love it. Sometimes they close early-- or not exactly when the hours show & honestly I'm just happy after working so hard and everyday they deserve days off!! Hell you guys deserve a whole week off I'm just happy they are who they are and operate on their own damn time. as a customer, I come here for the experience & when they are happy I'm happy!! I bike down PCH all the times and I never knew this place existed until I checked on Yelp for a burger join!!! Their Pocket burger caught my eyes when I saw the pic so I had to bike over there and check it out myself. This place is a really tiny place right next to a tattoo shop. I ordered their Pocket Burger and their garlic fries($2 extra). About 15 mins later the lady brought me the burger outside. It looks AND tastes delicious!! The buns were warm, the bacon was crispy, the thick avocado was good and the garlic fries were awesome!! It definitely one of the best burger I have ever tasted. Way better than Five Guys and In N Out, although I do like In N Out but this one is way juicer!! I will go back for more next time, maybe next week!!! read more

We found this hole in the wall via yelp and fell in love with it! It's a family-owned restaurant that fuses their home style Asian food into their menu. Keep in mind, the inside of this place seats 4 people, but there are some tables outside as well. Maybe fits another 10 people outside, so it's very small. But the best things come in small packages right?? The menu is very diverse: burritos, burgers, salads, bowls, dessert, etc. How do you create such a big menu with such a small restaurant? Who knows.. but they definitely did it! We went for the Pocket burger; if a burger is named after the name of the spot, it HAS to be good! They were also cooking a special for that day: spicy Thai beef burrito. The husband and wife gave us a sample of the beef and it was delish. Although, I wish it would have been spicier. I ordered the Pocket Burger which comes with bacon, avocado, teriyaki, and all the trimmings. They top that all off with a fried egg. The fries were crispy and delicious with just the right amount of salt. I made a point to look at all the other items that people ordered as they walked by. At the halfway point of a veeeeeery long bike ride, I stopped here to get something to eat. Now you may wanna attribute my star rating to the fact that I was probably famished and a saltine cracker would've tasted delicious. Maybe, but we're not reviewing saltine crackers are we? Lol This place is a small, hole in the wall, burger joint, with a few tables inside its linear build. They also have a few bar stool styled tables and chairs outside as well. If you get there and you can't find a place to sit (much less park), take you and your food around the corner and find a spot. That way you can lick your fingers in the privacy of your vehicle while you enjoy a great ocean/beach view. The burger I ordered came with jalapeños and I had them add bacon. Or maybe I have it backwards. I was in a hungry, dizzy phase. Either way it came with an adequate side of fries. Being a still fairly new cyclist (does eight months of cycling still qualify me as a newbie?), I certainly could have used a healthier portion of the fries or even a sweet potato fry option. Of course I'm being picky. I'm in the swank of Seal Beach. It's expected. My burger was a good size and even more importantly made with fresh ingredients. That's always an critical nub to burger making. For example, a freshly made burger should never come with wilted lettuce. Never. What I thought was profoundly interesting, however, was how juicy the burger was. That's the second nub - and by far a more individualized thing. I happen to like juicy burgers. To each their own. The owner and his kids were all professional and very helpful. Twice the owner came out to check on me. Maybe because I looked like I was dying and he didn't want me doing that in front of his burger joint. Whatever points they may have lost for a lack of parking - his service more than made up for it. Now that the weathers changed and the days are longer, I'm going to make that ride again. More importantly I have a place to stop to refuel for that long ride back home. The fries are great. Every burger made is excellent. Always crowded with us locals. That tells you something.
