I love the variety and the ability to sample brews with flights and what better place is there to do so than a brewery? Though the beer did not hit any unusually high notes, the surprise of coming here turned out to be the pizza. They claim the best pizza in the Poconos on their website, and I am sure that is actually true. The word fired oven was a good sign of possibilities as I walked to the table. Ordering the Burrata -- Burrata, Oilve Oil, Arugula, Prosciutto, Shaved Parmesan, Balsamic Glaze white pizza made those possibilities real. The crust was absolutely paper thin and done perfectly. Yes, this wasn't just a standard cheese pie but when you have an oven like that you need to explore well beyond plain to host an amazing party in your mouth that you will look forward to coming back to. read more

Pocono Brewery Company is a craft brewpub that opened in Swiftwater, Pennsylvania in June 2017. It was founded by Italian immigrant Silvio Vitiello and his sons Silvio M. and Jean-Luc. The elder Vitiello emigrated from Naples, Italy in 1984. He would eventually open a pizzeria in the Poconos in 1998. Years later, both of his sons saw the rising popularity of craft beer and got the idea to open a family-friendly restaurant that featured pizza and beer. When the brewpub opened in 2017, it featured a brewhouse put together with custom-designed Italian brewing equipment. The highlight of PBC's food menu is Neapolitan-style pizza pies cooked inside an imported Neapolitan wood-fired oven. In addition to their signature pizzas, they also serve burgers, steakhouse entrées, pasta, seafood, salads, and various appetizers. In 2019, a secondary taproom opened up at the Lehigh Valley Mall in Whitehall. Around the same time, PBC started making their own wine in addition to beer. The Pocono Winery & Taproom opened in Brodheadsville in 2021. I visited Pocono Brewery Company this past weekend. I was staying in the Poconos at my family's vacation home for the weekend and decided to stop by for some pizza and beer. I arrived not long after they opened for lunch. The building was really nice and spacious; they even have a large heated covered patio. Their imported wood-burning oven was just beautiful! After looking over the menu, I decided to order a beer flight. You can order flights of four samples or eight; I opted for the latter. For pizza, I decided to order a classic: the Margherita. The beers that I tried consisted of a fruited sour, an amber lager, a golden ale, a red ale, a light lager, a wheat beer, an oatmeal stout, and an IPA. My favorite was the latter: their flagship beer named "Wally Wilson" (a reference to Wilsonville, a town that now lies at the bottom of Lake Wallenpaupack). PBC may be named for their beer, but what really stands out to me is their pizza! The Margherita was absolutely delicious: perfect sauce and creamy mozzarella. I later tried a wine flight which consisted of their moscato, chardonnay, merlot and cabernet; the latter being my favorite. I ended up ordering some pizzas to bring back for my wife and son: the 'Luna Rossa' (red pie with mozzarella, sausage, garlic, red peppers, basil, olive oil) and the 'Burrata' (burrata, arugula, prosciutto, shaved parmesan, olive oil, balsamic glaze). I have been to this place several times. There is never a host at the front. There is always a wait to be seated even if it's empty. The place is dirty. The food takes forever to come out. Went there again today to get some Mediocre hipster pizza And same deal. Wait 10 min for a host to appear. Host suggested we sit at the bar but we had a minor which I guess that's not allowed. About would be a 20 min wait because they just had a big party call in, There was seriously like 10 cars in the parking lot. Terrible food and highly priced. Went for dinner the other night and I honestly will never go back. The boneless buffalo wings were horrible and quite expensive but my husband's sandwich was terrible! He ordered the very expensive ($19) fried chicken sandwich. He couldn't bite through the bread which was very stale and after it was toasted it became harder. The chicken on it was so dry. I thought I'd try for myself and couldn't believe that I couldn't bite down in the sandwich. I never leave reviews but people should know what they're in for eating here. And the tomato crab bisque is made with imitation meat that tasted nothing like crab! A soup, an appetizer, and 2 sandwiches cost us $85 with tip. Absolutely disgusting. We walked into this place at6:30 on a Thursday evening, a party of 10. We had a reservation but had no need since the place was dead. We were stuck in the back with all the boxes but it was quiet. Service was pretty quick which was shocking considering how stoned all the waitstaff appeared. I ordered a moscato but received a Chardonnay. My friend ordered a vodka and water- she got the water! My friends enjoyed their food in general, pizzas, salads, sandwiches. My partner and I came in for a work event, I'd say there was about 20 of us in the party. It seems we had one waitress, which was fine. However, my partner and I waited 15 mins to be acknowledged to order our drinks. She never came up to us, my husband had to go find her to order our drinks. We waited.... And waited. And waited. It took 35 minutes to get water. By the time it hit a 50 minute wait on two beverages... we walked out. Never in my life did I have such terrible service in an establishment. We were a large party but the building itself was not that busy. As someone with years in the service industry, that's completely unacceptable. My first and last time ever coming to this place. 5 stars for the guy who was singing live. Great voice and great music mash up. This place is OK. I think its large size and placement on 611 near Kalahari, Camelback, Mt Airy, and Great Wolf Lodge catches the eye of people staying at and around those resorts. That's what happened with us, as we decided to try a brewery different than the usual one we go to in the area. There is indoor and outdoor seating and the interior is sizable, with 2 floors. We went there around 1:30PM midweek August, and it was dead- maybe 4 other tables inside. I didn't find the restaurant particularly clean, as we had to wipe off residual food left on the seat from the prior occupants of our booth. There are also lots of cardboard boxes throughout the entrance area, that ruined the wood cabin brewery ambiance. Service is adequate. The menu had decent selections and they have a kids menu. I ordered their $18 Rodeo Burger which seemed to be a signature for them, but was not that impressed. My medium burger patty was more medium well. The appetizer sampler was tasty and I would recommend if you are dining with about 3-5 people. I had the Wally Wilson IPA and Mauch Chunk Pale Lager- both craft beers, but they were just OK. There was a 3% credit card surcharge, which I guess was fine, but I wish someone had mentioned that first- especially since it was included in the tip calculation. All in all, if you are staying in the area and you want something convenient for your family, this may be a good option for you. Mixed review on this place because of the service and low selection of beer. When first arriving we were seated right away on the big outdoor deck, very nice covered deck. Then ordered a flight of beers to try, wish they had more options here. Next we ordered food which did take a while to come out considering the place was not that crowded. Then the problem with the service, where did wait staff go, ordered another round and had to wait 20 minutes, that's not good. So, while my experience started out good it went downhill. The food was fine no issue there. The dressing on the chicken sandwich was spicy so those 2nd rounds of drinks would have been good had they come out. We were lucky enough to have some time in our schedule this past weekend. We sat in the bar area; ordered some flights and the BIG pretzel (warning-it is not on the menu but just ask because they do have it!). The bartenders were super friendly-they offer tasters before you commit. The atmosphere was low-key-sort of hole in the wall, but with a classier look. The brick oven made the place smell wonderful. It had a perfect 'wintery, just chillin with beer to stay warm' vibe. In regards to beers: they have a great selection, with ample variation for all taste buds. I settled on the Green Beer (Pokawache pale ale with green dye), Raspberry IPA Rhubus, 354 Porter, 570 Oatmeal. The beers were a solid 2/5; with the 354 settling about 3/5. They have a smooth average taste-nothing over the top amazing, but everything nice and drinkable. The flight was a decent price $10 for 4 samples. The pretzel was moist, warm, and delicious. Glad I crossed it off my bucket list of eats, but it wasn't really worth $10 -but it made me happy to finally eat one! The spicy mustard was really what made it overly delicious. Overall, I enjoyed my visit-it's a bit of a hike from Wilkes-Barre, so I probably won't be again-but it was a great adventure. read more

I was excited to learn that another brewery had come to this section of the Poconos. Barley Creek down the road is always mobbed, and there seemed to be less traffic here. There is one thing this brewery does much better than its competition, and it's the most important part - the beer! I really do like their beer here, and they offer some unique brews as well as traditional ones. However, sadly for them, their food is really pretty bad. The pizzas sound delicious and they really could have been, if they weren't so soggy! You can't hold or fold the slides, they go limp and all the toppings slide off. I was also not impressed with the wings. It was obvious they had been frozen. I was disappointed I couldn't get the total package here. If you're going to market yourself as a brew pub then you need to bring your A-game for both booze and food. If you do come here for drinks, their Irish cream stout is top notch. I also enjoyed their apple chai brown ale, but it's not for everyone. I also don't think you can go wrong with their golden ale. I've been wanting to try this place for years and after finally doing so, I have some thoughts. First, our waitress wasn't as attentive as we're used to when dining at other restaurants. I don't expect lightning speed but 15+ minutes to refill our drinks isn't cool. Especially since this was a Monday evening and there wasn't any kind of dinner crowd whatsoever. We didn't see much of our waitress at all during our meal. Second, I'm perplexed by the fact that for the kids menu, there is no pizza. There is an ample section of different pies to choose from. Why not make a personal pizza for the kids too? That's all my daughter wanted. We got the BBQ chicken pizza for her to share and the crust was on the floppy side and there was nothing special about it flavor wise and for the price, the few sprinkles of chicken on it were ridiculous. I mean c'mon. Now the cheese steak was absolutely delicious as were the truffle fries. I could eat that all day and if not for that, I wouldn't give this place the 3 stars that I'm giving. But the pizza wasn't anything to write home about in any way. Third, the bathroom needed attention and the overall cleanliness of the place wasn't good at all. I don't think it's too much to ask that a place where food is being served is kept clean. Also, I don't know why especially with covid, high chairs aren't taken care of with better effort. The highchair we were given was very sticky and dirty. I had a cover for it so my baby wouldn't touch. But it's the principle. Just wipe down the highchairs with half of the energy you use to hound people to make sure they're wearing masks. Baby's deserve protection too. I don't know if my family and I would go back. While the cheese steak and truffle fries were really good, everything else was below mediocre. I'm very understanding of places when they're swamped or busy but it was not busy at all. Like, at all. The Brewery gladly took us in for dinner and provided us with great service by Jess ! She recommended some tasty apps and entrees that came out spectacular. We ordered the pretzel app and a pizza (both were delicious) and then we had the pulled pork sandwich, Rodeo burger and cheese burger. Everything came Out perfect and in a timely fashion. Went to Pocono Brewery about 2 Sundays ago because I hadn't been there in a long while! Never again!! Between the bartender and our server, I don't know which one was worse... I order two Long Island ice teas; one for my husband the other for me. The server brought us 2 16 oz glasses each with a lemon on the side... We each took a sip of our drinks and instantly got ulcers.... lol it was so tart we both puckered and cringed. We tried them again with the same responses! We waited for the server, but he never came back so I took the drinks to the bartender and politely and discreetly told her that my husband and I were unable to drink them and asked if she could remake them but with less sour mix and/or lemon because they were undrinkable. A splash of coke and sour mix is how I was taught to make a Long Island iced tea! I told her if she could not make it that way I'd gladly order wine! She was very nice. She told me to take my seat, and she'd bring them to my table. I went back to my table and sat down. Five minutes later, my server brought us two 8-ounce glasses of Long Island iced tea, filled to the rim with ice instead of the two 16-ounce glasses that we had previously, which by the way is the stand at any bar I've ever worked at. I started laughing and shook my head in disgust. Are you seriously going to give me half of my drink because I asked you to make it the prover way?!
