Went with some coworkers for happy hour, extremely disappointed. The place itself is poorly laid out, there isn't a lot of bar space. Bathroom is super tiny and wasn't very clean. Also there's a chalkboard inside the stall, which is strange. Food was alright, pretty bland. Quesadilla comes with lettuce sprinkled on top with a plop of sour cream and guacamole on top, not on the side. I'm a picky eater, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on that. Waitstaff was attentive, there was definitely no complaint there. Kept checking back with us, came for refills, excellent job. Unfortunately the owner of the establishment has a poor attitude and a lack of concern for customer satisfaction. Definitely will not be recommending. Apparently they have been around for a long time, but personally I don't believe that's an excuse for treating customers poorly. read more

This Mexican food is made by Puerto Ricans, so its inherently lying. The chips they put out are stale, the food is uninspired. They have phenomenal Puerto Rican specials, but other then that its just not worth your dollar. Highly overpriced otherwise. read more

This review is for the owner/manager who should use this feedback as an opportunity to improve on their restaurant rather than call the customer out and tell them their option is wrong. I wrote a review several years ago, and as a business owner myself, couldn't believe the manager wrote in response that ..."I don't know what you are talking about! People eat that dish all the time and love it!" There was no "I'm sorry" you had a bad experience......or......"please come back again and we will make it right." In fact, I looked at a number of reviews and the manager basically told everyone who left a less than perfect review..."We have been doing this THE SAME WAY for 25 years. Nothing has changed. It was good back then and YOU are just wrong. I have never seen a business address their customers so unprofessionally. The food is made without care and tastes microwaved. The Mexican fried ice cream should not taste like you covered it with frosted flakes. Accept.....learn.....improve.....and importantly....respect the clientele. read more

Very good service out on the porch. However, every portion of the meal was absolutely flavorless. From the chips, to the red liquid they called 'salsa'. The quesadilla had zero seasoning, the guacamole was just a tablespoon of flavorless green stuff. Even the sour cream had no flavor. I'm not even sure where you could buy sour cream and not have it have flavor. Was it low fat, or watered down? Very strange. Fine for a bar before a comedy show but even the chips are avoidable. Should have steered clear after seeing the yelp ratings. Will never go again read more

This place is really pretty bad, food-wise. I've seriously had way better quality food from street carts. Two good things: our waiter was very nice and a decent waiter overall, and if you have kids, the atmosphere is boisterous enough that you don't have to worry much about them being... kids. The food is an absolute monstrosity, from the quality of the ingredients, to the preparation, to the presentation. I ordered a chimichanga and literally got a chimichanga on an otherwise completely empty plate. Worst chimi ever, too. I would've sworn it was a hot-pocket. The place seems stuck in like 1995as well. The decor, the music all scream 90's. Then the Coke I ordered came. In a pitcher. With a straw in it. I told the waiter "I didn't order that", but he replied cheerfully "that's a coke, that's just how we serve it!" We'll not likely ever go back here. It belongs on Kitchen Nightmares. read more

Great drinking hole. Yes it's a hole but you can fill your hole there too. Gave this place another try after a disappointing first experience. Did not see an improvement. Cheese quesadillas tastleless, shimp very fishy. Lettuce on plate was brown at edge. I implore the owners to, instead of argue with pretty much every negative review posted here, take the criticism to heart and make positive changes. Love this place! Food isn't amazing or anything.. but the atmosphere and staff are the best... the margaritas are great.. we love it!

Lived in the area my whole life and never went there. No real reason why, just didn't go. I had a craving for quesadillas -simplest thing to make- and so I ordered dinner for my husband and I and picked it up after work yesterday. He got the mambo chicken burrito and I got chicken quesadillas and an order of fried pickles. First complaint was the price. 33.00 and the burrito came alone which other Mexican places it would at least come with tortilla chips and salsa on the side. Casa Toro it comes with sides, just saying. Second complaint was my quesadillas or lack there of. Not only was the chopped lettuce and tomato, merely a tablespoon of sour cream and guacamole on TOP of the quesadillas, the guacamole was brown. So I had to scrape it off the top and retoast it in my toaster oven. Normally people put cold toppings in plastic cups for takeout orders. Finally ready to eat and noticed how the cheese tasted fake and it was overloaded and no peppers and onions in there either. No matter where I've ever eaten, quesadillas have peppers onions and cheese. REAL shredded cheddar. I don't know what I was eating but I threw it out halfway through bc it was so disgusting. The pickles however were good minus the gross dill dipping sauce. I guess you can't really screw up frying something though. I have had better quesadillas at the farmhouse which is an Irish bar. I just don't understand how a Mexican place can screw up the simplest of Mexican dishes. I guess instead of convenience driving past there on my way home I will go a little bit out of my way and stop at Casa Toro because I know there food is better quality. Sorry Pocos, but this is just constructive criticism coming from someone who's worked in restaurants since I was a kid. And the guy that took my payment seemed like he was drunk bc he was like yelling my total all the way to the credit card machine which was super weird. read more

I'll start by saying my kids loved it. Specifically they loved the large glasses the soda came in. My wife and I were not big fans. They have a very large and diverse menu but nothing our family ordered was very good. The bar seemed to be hopping and there were people streaming in for the comedy club upstairs. So if you're looking for a bar with some food to snack on while you drink this may work out but if you're looking for decent sit down Mexican, keep looking. read more

I went for lunch. The restaurant was almost empty which was fine by me. The food was average. Interesting - when you order iced tea, lemonade, etc it is served in a small pitcher with a straw. Some people believe that presentation is everything, but you won't hear this tired old motto at this place. This is Mexican food in the same way that CanCun is a Mexican experience. I ordered something called a "who cares". It was a giant brown wrap that took up the entire plate filled with "stuff" that seems to be a little of everything. It was the worst Mexican entree I've ever had. My wife had a taco and burrito which she enjoyed. The margaritas were good, but priced as you may expect at a better restaurant. The place was quite crowded and the service was good. It was loud and family friendly. The place has potential, but they need a new menu to start followed by a makeover of the decor. Terrible food/drinks and overpriced. Your safest option is ordering a beer because the mixed drinks are not good quality. You can tell there's not much effort put into the food considering it comes out within 5 minutes after ordering. The shrimp clearly comes from a can because it's the smallest shrimp I've ever seen. The first time I went to Poco's I had a pretty pleasant experience, but the last few times I've been in, I left really disappointed. The food has always been decent, but the service is just plain bad. When my friend and I stopped in, there were only three or four tables (including us) that were full out of the entire restaurant. It took quite a while for someone to come over to take our order, and when our appetizer arrived, we spent probably 10 minutes just sitting and staring at our now cooling nachos after our waiter said he would be over with small plates and was not to be seen for another 20 minutes. We had to ask another employee (who we only saw long enough for this interaction to occur, and then they disappeared) if we could get some plates, and there was not so much as a "hey sorry about that" from our waiter when he returned from wherever it was he disappeared to. The restaurant seems chronically understaffed, and the employees that are there seem to spend a good amount of energy pretending they are not in fact working. Waitstaff is inattentive and generally unwelcoming. There's plenty of other places in and around Doylestown for Mexican food with better service and better prices. read more

This is a fun place to eat and a great place for a casual party. I've been dining at Poco's for many years with friends and family and the atmosphere is always welcoming and cordial. There is a nice variety of appetizers and entrees and they are willing to make slight changes if necessary. I love their Pickle Pickle (fried dill pickles)! They could get busy on Friday or Saturday nights so sometimes there's a slight wait but it's worth it. The also have a full bar! read more

pocos has been my favorite restaurant since i was a little kid. they have the best salsa and chips out of any tex-mex restaurant i've ever been to and their food is equally as good! try their chimichangas, especially the Green Mary Lou one (the spiciest dish on their menu). Whenever i visit the good old doylestown, pocos is mandatory of me to visit. Great comedy club upstairs, as well!! read more
