When you think NE Louisiana BBQ, likely your thoughts will immediately go to Podnuh's, which has been a staple around the area for 40+ years. And there's a reason for their longevity--the food is fantabulous all round! On a recent visit to see family in NE Louisiana, I picked up some Podnuh's BBQ to take home to my mom's for a family dinner. The tender smoked meats were on target as usual (I ordered the brisket, pork, and sausage)... the amazing barbecue sauce was super yummy... and the sides (baked beans and potato salad) were delicious as usual. In fact, everything was just as I remembered from my childhood - nom, nom nom!! Really good Barbecue! The ribs are amazing! Love the sauce! They have great Texas toast and all the free pickles you can get on your plate.

I walk in at 2:30 on 2/5/26. Server is sitting down behind counter texting on cell phone. Still texting and without looking up, she states "let me know when you're ready". I reply "I'm ready whenever you finish texting" I order Six in a Sack for $27, a quart of Beans for $9, and a pint of peach cobbler for $5. The meat was nearly inedible, extremely dry & chopped into a fine dust like texture. Beans were good. Peach cobbler was a mess, all cobbler without any peaches. She gave me 5 small onion rings, 4 small pickles, & 5 small peppers in an extra bag. I paid her nearly $50. No smile, and no thank you. Overall, a very unpleasant experience at the restaurant and and an even worse experience trying to eat this mess when I got home. I would definitely not recommend. read more

Stopped in for dinner on our way home. The Famiiy spread was perfect for our group of 6! We ordered pulled pork, brisket, green beans and peach cobbler. The food was not bad, perfect for a quick meal when we were low on time. The meat was a little dry. The beans a were too sweet, kinda surprising. The cobbler was ok. All that to say it was good since we were in a pinch but when Daddy BBQ's it's just stinking hard to compare anything. else! The location was super convenient.... Just off 165. I purchased a two meat plate. The order was not what i asked for, They gave me potato salad, and i am allergic to potatoes. The beans was poured all into my other food. The sausages and the brisket was not completely cooked. I finished cooking it in my air-fryer. Apparently the night crew tonight needs some retraining. $13 gone down the drain! Take out portions were generous and good! We went inside to get the food and the employees were friendly and helpful.

Another place that wasn't my first choice but we ended up here because there weren't that many vehicles in the parking lot and we were running late for lunch. Ended up getting the barbecue chicken plate which was actually pretty good. The sweet potatoes were really good. I officially have a list of places to visit again when working in the area. This is definitely one of the places Not my go-to but I would have no problem eating here again. read more

If you want some good comforting southern BBQ absolutely do not come here. It would take me too long to right everything that is bad about this restaurant so I'll just write everything that is good. Nothing, there is not a single redeeming quality about this place that would make me want to return. The ribs had the dryness and consistency of beef jerky. It's like they sat out under a heat lamp in the Sahara desert for months before being placed on my plate. During this exquisite dining experience I also learned that one employee has had so many tickets their license is currently suspended and has a bald baby daddy. How did I a complete stranger come into this extremely personal information you might ask? Because there is no music and the employees do not care to regulate their talking volume. My friend guy use to live in Ouachita Parish and bragged about this place often. He now lives in Dallas so guess where he wants me to stop? Podnuh's for the best baked beans he's ever tasted. I dropped in to check it out. You order at one end and pay at the other. They have multiple plate options and decent hot and cold side options. He wanted the two meat with chicken, turkey, and double order baked beans. I got a single meat option with chicken, baked beans and corn on the cob. The food was good not great. I wasn't blown away. The baked beans were delicious; not too sweet. The chicken was just not juicy enough for me. The corn was basic, no sweetness. Customer service was good. Not great. Good. Would I go back? Yes. I took the suggestion of what to order but I think next time I'll order the sausage or a sandwich and see how it goes. I'm not writing them off yet. Visited this location on 10/17/22, the ribs and sausage were delicious. However, the brisket was so dry it was inedible, I tried to add sauce to help eat nothing helped. Disappointed because I placed my order before noon, all of the good should have been fresh. read more

Went in for lunch and got the chopped beef sandwich. It was delicious - also very quick lunch spot if you are in a hurry which I was- in and out in less than 30 minutes!!! This place has been around for years. I actually like their chicken better than their major competitor. However, my last visit here the staff was rude. I thought maybe just a bad day.
