Pig & Parrot is exactly the kind of place you want to visit on a summer day at the Jersey Shore. We arrived early, which turned out to be a great decision since they don't take reservations and the wait can get long. We were lucky enough to score a table right on the water, with water views and a live band. The atmosphere was fun, lively, and everything you'd hope for in a waterfront restaurant. Midway through our meal, however, a sudden rainstorm rolled in and created a bit of chaos. Everyone rushed to grab one of the limited covered tables under the tent, making the experience feel a little frantic for a while. The staff did not help figure out where to go, what to do or anything really helpful. Food-wise, the best was Mike's Signature Bang Bang Shrimp. The rice bowls were less impressive. The vegetable component was more of a slaw than the stir-fried vegetables we expected, the dishes could have used much more sauce, and the panko-crusted mahi bowl felt heavier and more fried than anticipated. We also ordered a bucket of High Noons, but there was confusion about the happy hour deal. Neither the menu nor our server could explain the bucket pricing, and when the bill arrived, it appeared we paid the same as ordering the drinks individually. First of all there was no hostess, even though the sign says "wait here to be seated"... we start looking for one, and we found the hostess downstairs . We sat and ordered drinks and one appetizer .... The drinks were horrible , I could not finish mine same as my sister . They did not bring any plates for us for the appetizer. I have been trying to visit this place for years. I finally decided today was the day. Glad I came, met a few very nice people and they flew in 2 ppl singers that were awesome at every tune. Counters were packed. I managed to get a standing area by the beer tap . People on either side of me immediately started talking to me. Nice person bought my first drink. Eddie the bartender was great!! I was fascinated by how his speed on drinks were accurate. He was not skipping a beat. Dan sat next to me. We hit it off. All these bad reviews had us scared but you know what, it wasn't bad at all. Went a couple of weeks ago on a Friday at 6. Since it was still off season it wasn't crowded and it was easy to find a parking spot. We opted to sit inside since the weather was a little chilly and some in our group didn't bring a jacket and this spot is right on the water. We were prepared to not like our food...based on the reviews. I ordered the hanger steak salad and the rest of the group ordered sliders. We wanted to keep it simple. And we all really liked our meals. They were quite good. As for the drinks, I immediately noticed that the prices were not on the menu which means we got the tourist menu. I mentioned that to the server and she told me the price of what I wanted to order. We had some random drinks and they were fine. The band came on at 8, which was our cue to leave. this was actually a pretty cool spot! came in on a thursday around 5pm in June and there was still a decent crowd. Service was prompt and Taylor did a great job attending to us. Orders came in right and im surprised the Penne Vodka was absolutely delicious! I also enjoyed my burger. I had ordered Medium and it was cooked perfect and juicy! again, another surprise since i didnt have such high expections. The cheese pull was so aggressive that the table next to me stopped their conversation to watch. At one point I think I was connected to the kitchen. I've spent years training for this moment. Really enjoyed our meal. The food was great, the staff was friendly, and you can't beat the waterfront location. Definitely coming back.

We got an outdoor table which we loved. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share. We had a steak bowl with rice and veggies it was ok. Clam strips that my friends loved. Buffalo chicken wings that did not have a lot of sauce so a couple were missed which was a bummer. Coconut shrimp which was pretty good and the chicken nachos which were the star of the show for me lots of toppings and cheese and fresh guacamole. The drinks were good as well. Five stars for being authentically true to itself. last Monday night at Pig and Parrot Brielle I Found myself in a little oasis on the Jersey shore. The atmosphere is so much fun. I felt like I was in Key West in a condo complex. This is not a snobby place but a really fun place for people to let loose. Eat some good food and check out some great tunes. I started with the gorgeous plump oysters and finished with a delicious tasting simple burger. I was impressed that they had La Crema Chardonnay, my favorite. After our meal, we went upstairs and enjoyed a really Really fantastic open mic night. The format was really cool because the evening was Led by this seemingly great guy Kevin Hill who is very talented in his own right. Again the atmosphere is so much fun, they had disco type shining lights making the room very festive. Everyone veryone was having a really fun time. I could not believe it was Monday night. The place had a great vibe. What is Cool is that people show up and sit in with the band or bring their own band. There were some absolutely incredible young musicians who showed up. The highlights were these two kids, probably freshman in high school, jamming out to Ozzy Osbourne while Kevin Hill sang. He was so encouraging and it was Pretty special. Then this college "kid" came out with a trombone and blew my mind. I ended up speaking to him afterwards and he is in a music school/college. The talent was extraordinary. All the other musicians around were equally good and super fun and fabulous. The bar had plenty of people dancing and having a terrific time. It was so much fun. I'm going back again this Monday. Arrived few minutes after they opened. No patrons at all. We decided to dine inside because it was way too windy outside. The inside is not too big, there's a few tables and the bar area. There are a ton of pictures on the wall of fishermen with their catches, a bunch of TVs and there are a lot of police patches along the drop ceiling above the bar. The outside area by the dock is a large area to sit outside to eat and drink. Very colorful inside and out. When we came inside there was nobody at the host table but the lady inside confirmed that we wanted a table inside and she said she would go get a waitress. The young waitress just came over within a minute or two asked what we wanted to drink, she was sweet but service was nothing special at all and if I had to say, probably below average. We ordered an iced tea, a Coke, and he ordered the Dark and Stormy (which he has had many times in other establishments for comparison), very weak drink. When she came back to take our food order, I ordered the Mini Crab Cakes as an appetizer, and my lunch was the Cajun chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries and He ordered the Bacon Ranchera burger. When the appetizer came out, the waitress was not carrying it, it was somebody from the kitchen. I immediately looked at it and thought maybe I ordered the wrong thing- they brought out the crab cake sliders (3), so she didn't pay attention and put in the wrong order. I actually looked on the menu and didn't even realize they had crab cake sliders that's how I knew she put in the wrong order. Will I return it? absolutely not, because now -strike one. They were nothing special, I've had better. I ordered The Crush as my drink. I wanted to try something different. I am not a vodka drinker but all I tasted was orange juice, another weak drink. About 15 minutes later, my chicken sandwich came out by the same person who delivered the appetizer not the waitress. But the burger was not delivered, I kept my sandwich in front of me, not eating because my husband still did not have his burger. I timed it, it took an additional 9 minutes for the burger to come out. Strike 2. I actually was paying attention to the staff while we waited all that time for a burger to come out and there were four staff right at the bar having a big conversation and no one was paying attention to the still ONLY table in the establishment still waiting for one sandwich. Management should train their servers that you never bring out one sandwich and the other person has to wait almost 10 minutes for a BURGER!!! My husband then ordered Captain Jack's Lemonade, nothing special. Both sandwiches were very, very average my husband even commented that a Whopper was better than this burger. Service was mediocre. Disappointed. One and done for us. By the time we left we were still the only table seated inside, there were two other couples that sat at the bar but for being the only table we should have had a better experience . We wanted to try this place because we saw it advertised a lot and we live relatively in the shore area. If you want a place to hang, drink BEER (they did have a large list of beers), then it's your place. If you want a decent drink and great food, go somewhere else. I'm sure this place is a gold mine in the summer but the locals must carry it because it's not that great. read more

We had lunch here on a Friday afternoon. The place itself is nice, right on the water with plenty of boats to look at. We sat at a low top table towards the front of the restaurant not on the outside, which was fine but I'd recommend a high top or going upstairs. Dog friendly was a huge plus. The drinks were good & our server, Bailey, also very good and very friendly with our pup. The food... take a look at the pic of my "ahi tuna" tacos. It's a pile of slop and it's certainly not high grade ahi, it's like minced scraps. It looked disgusting & overcooked and honestly tasted the same. The wasabi dressing on them was very bland as well. They should re-evaluate this dish ASAP, because as someone who loves ahi, it needs a drastic revamp. The other pics are what real ahi should look like - deep red/pink and cubed not minced like this was. My wife got one of the rice bowls which was very good, I'd recommend this for sure. I don't know why my husband insists on eating here once a summer. I think he likes to torture me and waste money. My husband, kids and I went 8/30/25. Noelle started off ok, then decided to chat at another table instead of working. Of course she did this after the Manager came to ask if everything was ok... she was so rude about forgetting to put in a glass of wine I ordered- she brought it in a plastic Dixie cup and told me to use my water glass if I wanted my wine in a glass! I hadn't complained or anything; I don't know why she was aggressive all of a sudden.... I didn't drink the wine, paid the bill and ran outta there. Wow. Probably the worst food/experience I've had DTS. First, the bar staff was RUDE. We ordered drinks & guac/chips while waiting for a table. They yelled at us to motion our chips were ready and I think my Moscow Mule had maybe half a shot in it. Second, at the dinner, it took 45 minutes to get our food. And they messed up half of it! They sent my friend's side to the wrong table & gave another the wrong fish. It then took 25 more minutes for them to correct the order. The whole time the waitress is apologizing but offering nothing to help remedy the situation. Please see the photo of my friends vegetables to see how no food had any flavor. The only plus was my friend loved her Taylor ham hamburger. The waitress was pretty cool & nice but should have communicated better. BRIELLE: Pig and Parrot Sandbar is a cool waterfront restaurant with interesting architecture and dockside dining. The brightly colored building and decor are so much fun and it overlooks the Manasquan River, Point Pleasant, and the Route 35 bridge. There is covered outdoor dining along the perimeter of the building and plenty of tables along the marina path. Leashed dogs are allowed and there are so many beautiful spots for a selfie. The food is island style with a tropical drink menu! read more
