Update: corrected some info If you know me, you'll know no poké place has ever topped Uroko for me. However, given that I no longer live in OC, I've made it my mission to try different poké spots in Long Beach, and so far, I haven't been impressed. Poké Bar missed the mark for me. The place is clean but seating can be kind of awkward, especially the tables along the wall. Customer service was almost nonexistent. The kid greeted us with a quiet "hi" and had airpods in the entire time. At minimum, I appreciated the fact that it was actually a build-your-own bowl. You take a slip of paper, check off boxes of whatever items you want, and leave it on the counter for them to prepare. I also appreciate that they don't charge extra for certain toppings, just the avocado. Portions are decent for the price, but taste was meh. My favorite toppings and sides include imitation crab, pineapple, masago, edamame, avocado, furukake, and crispy onions. They had a good majority of these ingredients, but it just didn't taste good. The imitation crab could've been mixed with mayo or something else that would've made it stand out more. We had a choice between seaweed salad and I think a cucumber salad. This was on me, but I should've went with the cucumber salad. I don't like how slimy the seaweed salad is and never get it with my poké. I mainly enjoyed the ahi tuna because it was fresh. I think if they added more of the sauces (think I chose their house sauce and wasabi mayo), it would've been more palatable. I'd consider trying them again if I happen to be in the area and am desperate for a bowl. read more

Went out to lunch in Long Beach, and I was craving poke. I haven't had poke since Hawaii. Parking: We found metered street parking down the street and walked to the spot. Ambiance/Environment: It's a small space with some indoor seating and one table outside. It's a very casual spot. Decently clean. Service: When we walked in, we were directed to fill out the order sheet. You'd check box everything you want in your Poké bowl on the order sheet, but you can also order other items from the menu. The worker could improve on her professionalism, but she was quick & efficient. What we ordered: 1) Large Poké bowl - 2 bases, 4 proteins, half brown rice & half spring mix, ahi tuna, salmon, spicy tuna, seared albacore topped w/ carrots, cilantro, corn, cucumber, edamame, pineapple, sweet onions, spicy house sauce, spicy mayo sauce, seaweed salad, crispy garlic, masago, sesame seeds, furikake. Everything tasted fresh! The bowl was also packed. My favorite proteins are the salmon and ahi! 2) Grilled Salmon Bowl - This had a generous amount of rice. I'd prefer another piece of salmon. Though, it was cooked well and the sauce was delicious. 3) Ramen - I noticed they had a ramen machine. We first purchased the ramen at the register and chose our toppings. Then we were given a bowl. I came here for lunch and got the cooked salmon bowl. This was my first time having Poké and I will say it was an interesting taste. Different than what I am used to but not bad. The thing that threw me off was that the salmon was cold. I do not usually eat cold food so I was shocked. The flavors that I got were the house spicy, sweet chili, and sesame oil.
