Used to be my favorite Poke place hands down even if I had to drive across town. During COVID they were still awesome, but the last couple of months there is a new manager or owner and things have gone down-hill. They are still ok, but average now. Female manager scolded employee for giving me too much fish and took the entire bowl away and disappeared into the kitchen. Will she give it to somebody else later? Throw it out rather than grant me an extra? Eat it herself? Anyhow after that the bowl had less fish than usual. Overall the food is less fresh and stingier portions. A unique, delicious addition to the south Austin food scene. I don't want to call this fast food, though it is fast, because every thing is fresh and flavorful. The only reason I can't give five stars is because their ice tea brewing system isn't working yet. I will visit again and with ice tea (not canned) I will change my rating to a 5 star. The restaurant opened recently and all the kinks seem to have been ironed out. I was lucky enough to be there on Mochi Monday and was able to finally sample Mochi - it is good. I had really high hopes for this place because there aren't many poke bowl places near my house. I've gone here twice and both times they were out of something basic. The first time is was white rice which is as basic as it comes for poke bowls. I almost left because I know I'm always disappointed with brown rice but I ate here anyways. It was average compared to other places. Today I went and they were out of avocado which isn't as basic as rice but I like to get a little avocado in every bite so this time I did leave. I told the woman making the bowl today that I had a problem with them being out of stuff last time too and she just brushed it off so I left. Nobody there seems interested in making things "right" for them being out of the ingredients that they advertise will be available. read more

I've never had Poke but I'm so glad I tried it here first so I know what standard to hold other places to! Love y'all's food and service and am so glad y'all are so close to my house! Oh my god, freaking delicious. I go to another poke place up north where I live. The service and food are by far better here. Only 4 stars bc i'm cheap. A 3 protein bowl cost $13 and the portion was so small I could probably eat 2 sets. Yeah... I understand the quality of food calls for a good price, buuuuuuuuut I'm also thinking the scoops were relatively small. delicious though. I will save my dollars and treat myself occasionally. Unless they wanna put into a bigger bowl. At the other place, I order 2 protein, and it lasts 2 whole meals. That's the difference in size. Of course it doesn't taste like this place. Very inconsistent serving sizes. My friend and i both got the same size bowl. The girl who put hos together gave him a heaping scoop of each fish he chose; the older guy who did mine was stingy w each of his scoops, barely fully filling the scoop. While this may sound a bit picky... my friend's bowl ended up having almost double the food. Absolutely worst poke I ever had. The miso soup wasn't bad but there wasn't any tofu in the soup maybe that's how they serve it I donno. The rice is to hot it definitely would have been better if I just ate it there but I had to take it hope which is about 12 mins away when I ate as soon as I got home and the fish started to cook from the heat of the rice and the texture was awful Update Poké rice should not be hot! Your fish is not fresh...12 mins isn't going to make the fishs taste and texture not unlike that of less than fresh fish. read more

Pretty good for a poke place. The combinations and variety is nice. All of the fish is previously frozen except the salmon. Overall a nice basic place with decent poke. Worth a stop if you're in the area, but that's it. read more

I was pleasantly surprised. There were at least 10 seafood selections. We got spicy tuna, tuna, albacore, crab salad and octopus. The veggie selection consisted of red onions, cucumbers, corn, carrots, and jalapeño. I got cucumbers and onions. They had 15 sauces. I got the script mayo and wasabi sauce. They also had 12 selections of toppings. I got Kim Chee, pickled dikon, furikake, masago and seaweed salad. I would have given them 5 stars if they had poke. I'm glad we have a poke house close to us. I'll be here often. read more

I've recently returned from a stay in Seattle, where I discovered a great poke place. Went to Poke Austin to hopefully have a similar experience. It's obvious that there are some kinks to be worked out with staffing (friendliness, speech clarity, speed, and passion/familiarity for the product), which is my main reason for the 3-star rating. The food was very good - fresh, lots of great choices, and excellent flavors. My one hope is for them to add a few more sauce options. I'm not much into soy sauce based sauces and was hoping to get something creamy without a lot of spice. The Spicy Mayo packs some heat, but fortunately the rice, avocado, and fish cut some of the heat. Looking forward to returning, just maybe not for a while as they work things out. read more

most awkward quick food stop of my life. lady with glasses looked me up and down the second i walked in but i didn't think much of it at first. i told blond guy i've never been here before and it was like we was trying to explain it to me as vaguely as possible. he kept sighing and looked annoyed when i was just ordering. by the end of it my food wasn't packed properly, the lid wasn't on right and my food was falling out. they had bags but for some reason he just sent me out with my bowl no utensils or napkins or anything. most sad and awkward experience ever. i tried my best to be polite as pissed off as i was but yea they suck. read more

Came here not knowing what to expect. A friend described it as deconstructed sushi - pretty good explanation. The staff was very helpful in explaining the various proteins (all sea food and tofu), which were cooked and which were not, as well as the toppings and sauces. They offered suggestions as to what went well together and even gave us samples to try before we made our decision. I'm not into raw fish so I chose the seared salmon and the spicy crab salad. They cook the salmon fresh when you order it, which is a real plus. There were several items I was not familiar with - especially the toppings and sauces so the staff recommendations were very helpful. We plan to come back and maybe next time I'll be a little more adventurous and try the seaweed topping and the eel or octopus. read more

The poke bowl was great. There's lots of options for creating your bowl from rice to salad or you can mlots of choices for you toppings. The crew there was very friendly and helpful. They were patient and made suggestions. My family and I had a great experience and the food was really tasty and fresh. My only negative comment would be that they should not charge extra for certain topping or ingredients. Example. They offered two octopus options but did not list that there was an e tea charge of $2 for the baby octopus. Which by the way was very good. read more
