At that time, the bowls felt like a great value for the price, and the quality and consistency kept me coming back. Unfortunately, over the past year, I've noticed that the portion sizes have become increasingly inconsistent from visit to visit. Most recently, on 7/29, I ordered three Build Your Own bowls. When I got home and unpacked everything, I noticed that two of the bowls appeared to contain roughly half the amount of food I would normally expect, while the third bowl looked closer to the portion size I've received in the past. What was especially disappointing was that one of the bowls included double protein, yet it still looked no larger than a standard portion. Considering the additional cost, I expected a noticeably larger serving. There was also an issue with one of the customizations. The employee preparing one of the bowls added a very large scoop of pickled ginger instead of the jalapeño slices that were selected on the order. While mistakes can happen and this alone would not have been a major concern, it was frustrating given that the order clearly listed the ingredients for each bowl. Accuracy is important, especially for customized orders where customers are paying for specific ingredients and combinations. What made the situation more disappointing was that I did not realize the issue until I arrived home. The bowl that appeared to have the most food was placed on top of the order, while the two noticeably underfilled bowls were underneath. Had I checked everything before leaving the store, I would have brought it to the staff's attention immediately. Unfortunately, by the time I discovered the problem, I was already home. In hindsight, I wish I had taken photos because the difference in portion sizes was very obvious. I want to emphasize that I have not experienced significant issues at this location before, which is why this visit stood out. I have generally enjoyed the food and service, and that is the reason I have continued to return. However, consistency is one of the most important aspects of any restaurant experience. Customers should be able to expect similar portion sizes and order accuracy every time they visit, especially when paying extra for add-ons such as double protein. Going forward, I may need to start checking my order and portion sizes before leaving the store, which is something I have never felt the need to do in the past. I hope management can address these concerns by reinforcing portion standards and providing additional training where necessary to ensure orders are prepared accurately and consistently. I would appreciate seeing improvements, as I would like to continue supporting this location.

We started with the grilled edamame, and the pork belly buns. Both were great, 1st time with grilled edamame. I would have like a little heat for the Pork belly but really good. I ordered the spicy tuna roll and the Toro- Pena. Both were good, but the Toro was fantastic! My wife ordered the steak & potato roll, think sweet potato roll with steak on top. She loved it! Service was quick and pleasant and the inside was nice. It wasn't very busy as we like to eat early. I will say the only thing we didnt like was the menus had a lot of stains on them and dirty. There have been several restaurants I've gone to and written a 5-star review, and then a couple of months later I revisited and was shocked at how bad the food was. So, I decided to try this place at least 5 times before writing a review. The food is consistently great. For those of you who don't know, the "Poke" in Pokemoto is the Hawaiian word for cutting something into small pieces. And that's what you'll see in the bowls. Is it a ton of fish or chicken per bowl? No. But in today's economy, it's understandable. You can't charge $12 to $18 for a bowl of food that requires significant prep time and expect a large quantity of expensive ingredients in it. The reason to mention this is that I've been reading reviews of other places where people have been complaining that restaurants are skimping on the proteins, such as beef, pork, and chicken. So, they give these restaurants a low rating. It's unfair. So, keep your expectations real. That being said, the bowls consist of three major parts: the rice that forms the literal base of the bowl, your choice of fish and/or chicken, and your toppings. And the selection of toppings is fantastic and surprisingly extensive and delicious. I'm a big guy, and one bowl totally fills me up. There is only one complaint, and it's a major one: PLEASE MARK THE BOWLS. If you order more than one bowl from them, there is nothing on the bowl that distinguishes one bowl from another. Just do what Five Guys does: give a receipt that has the ingredients ordered per item, assign it a number, and then put a sticker on the item so that it's easy to figure out what's what when you get home and unpack the order. It's amazing to me that a restaurant chain that's gone to such lengths to make sure that their food is consistently great has this kind of major oversight, especially since a poke bowl is probably one of the most perfect take-out orders ever. One last question I get asked is if this place is a replacement for Chipotle. It isn't. Chipotle is great when you want a rice dish that's literally heavy when you eat it. But Pokemoto is great when you want something that will fill you up but not weigh you down afterwards. Also, no one is going to beat Pokemoto's toppings. They cover the gamut of savory to sweet as well as soft to crunchy.

I decided to go with the B6 Salmon Teriyaki Bento Box ($16.99 plus tax-Lunch) which includes choice of rice, soup, appetizer, sushi roll, and salad, sauces provided. I was also given a complementary iced sweet lemonade too. My food was all set in about 10 minutes. The portion size for the bento box lunch was very good, compared to other Asian places near my home, which tend to skimp on bento box portions. The grilled salmon was very tender over the fresh cooked vegetable fried rice. The hot & sour soup (pint) was very hot and had good mild spicy flavors. The fried dumplings were crispy outside. The California Roll with wasabi, ginger, and soy sauce was very good, as the Seaweed Salad was a good side for the sushi. I enjoyed half of my lunch in the restaurant and enjoyed the rest when I got home.
