As far as poke bowls go, this is a solid choice. There's a fairly wide selection of protein for poke, including albacore and octopus and the usual salmon, spicy tuna and shrimp. There's also a wide variety of sauces including spicy mayo, spicy ponzu, garlic ponzu, eel sauce, etc. I can see it being intimidating if you're new to the poke world because it's a lot of sauces to choose from or combine together. The selection of actual toppings is pretty standard with the usual go to - seaweed salad, faux crab, cucumbers, furikake, etc. What stands out is the portion size. They use the same ice cream scooper as other places but unlike many places, they do 2-3 scoops of the ice cream scooper per protein and the amount of crab salad they give seems to be about 2x as well. So all in all, it's actually a very filling bowl as far as protein is concerned (versus filling it up with a lot of rice or lettuce). They also have sushi rolls in a case by the cash register and they seemed to range from $6.95 to $8.95 which is a nice grab and go option or if you're not hungry enough for a whole poke bowl. I just saw on Yelp that people were able to get kid sized bowls. I didn't see that available on the signage so I'm not sure if they have that anymore (or maybe it's a secret menu item). It's a solid bowl that I'd probably give a 3.49 if I could. Service was kind and attentive. Food tasted fresh. Portion was on par for other poke spots, and the interior was clear and spacious. The Poke bowls come in many (4) sizes which is sooo good bc my daughter gets the kids size while my son needs the extra large. However, for this review, I will focus on the following: THE POKE BOWLZ & GRILL FEELS | Industrial SoCal vibes with painted brick walls, shiny concrete tables, metal chairs, and wood slat benches. The food preparation area is clean and well maintained. There are two lines; one for the poke bowls and the other for their grilled meat bowls (signs show where the grilled meat station line starts). So excited to have this place close (I work in Mission Viejo) for a lunch spot! Bowls are large portion, very fresh, tasty, and lots of variety for the toppings. Plus you can add avocado without having to take a second out on your mortgage. I ordered a regular (2 scoops) tuna bowl and it was exactly what I was craving. This place gets crowded at lunch but the line is efficient and goes fast. Huge parking lot out front but be careful not to park too close to McDonald's and get boxed in by the drive thru. This place is good. Not great. Meat portions for the grill are small in my opinion. The quality is there but for what your paying the portions could be bigger. Especially for the grilled bowl I got since pork is cheaper than beef. I was surprised how skimpy they are on the meat. My wife got a poke bowl which she loved and said was huge. I like how they have a selection of poke, grilled meats, various toppings and sauces (they need to get Gochujang) as well as ice cream, boba and Musubi. The place is clean and spacious. There are also pretty tasty boba and drink options you can get. Portion-wise, you are going to see good value here from whatever size bowl you choose. I have been here several times and am yet to leave disappointed. They have the standard fish offerings, as well as octopus and a few other choices. There are also grill options which I haven't tried, but I'm sure they are good as well. Came here on a Friday afternoon after a gym session next door. I've passed by this place since it opened and never tried it but today was the day. Customer Service was really good, employees were friendly and helpful. I ordered a miso soup and a 3 scoop poke bowl. The fish tasted fresh, as were all the toppings. I was disappointed to see them pour my miso soup from a machine until I tried it, it was super delicious. Tried this place after working out at the gym for a healthier option than Chick-Fil-A (also in the same plaza), and it wasn't bad. I got the 3-scoop bowl with salmon x2 and scallops, which weren't fishy and relatively fresh. I liked that there were some great toppings options, but the stand out one for me was the cucumber salad! I haven't seen this add-on at other poké places, so I liked having the cucumbers with what tasted like lightly seasoned vinegar to add an extra layer of flavor to the bowl. The seaweed salad was a bit too salty for me though, and I had to take off a star cuz the server wasn't the friendliest to my daughter who was placing the order.
