I honestly can't recommend this place enough! From the moment we walked up to the kiosk, we were greeted. Even though it's a walk-up kiosk, it's incredibly cute, clean, and inviting, and you can tell that the people behind it truly care about every customer who stops by. The poke was --super fresh and super good quality! and packed with a lot more stuff than I expected....no complaints! and the poke bowl was one of the best I've ever had. Every ingredient tasted insanely fresh, the portions were generous, and everything was prepared really well . What really made this experience unforgettable, though, was the incredible kindness of the two women working there, one of whom is the owner. They were so warm, patient, and accommodating, making us feel genuinely welcome from start to finish. During our visit, they noticed that we were having a difficult moment and, completely out of kindness, surprised us with a complimentary bowl and a drink. They never made a big deal about it--they were simply thoughtful and compassionate, and that level of generosity meant so much to us. It's rare to come across service that feels so sincere, and they truly went above and beyond. If you're looking for amazing onigiri, delicious poke bowls, and some of the friendliest service you'll ever experience, this is the place. We got some onigiris here and loved everything we tried. They come with a lot of rice, but there was actually a reasonable amount of filling inside as well. We ended up getting the Onigiri Quartet, and because each one has a good amount of rice, you can actually get pretty full from them. We tried the teriyaki salmon, crab salad, KBBQ prime beef, and tuna mayo. Personally, my favorite was the simple crab salad, but they were all pretty good. Unfortunately, the food was extremely bland. I ordered the spicy salmon and spicy tuna mayo onigiris, but both were pretty disappointing. The quality wasn't great, and despite being labeled "spicy," there was basically zero spice. The biggest issue was the texture--the onigiris completely fell apart after just one bite, which made them pretty difficult to eat. Located in the mission Viejo mall food court, they serve various rice balls and poke bowls. Ordered 4 onigiris with beef, crab, salmon and tuna. Each filling/ topping was tasty and seasoned well. They were pretty big, and 4 was enough for2 people. Only issue I found is that they were packed a little too lightly and fell apart when trying to each, needed a fork to eat them. It hurts to share our experience because we really really want to love this place. Unless you're ordering a poke bowl, the onigiri take a very very long time. People who ordered after us and also ordered onigiri received their food before we did. The poke bowl was quick. Compared to other poke places, it was too much rice and not enough of the fish, veggies and other components. The fish pieces were sinewy and flavor wasnt good. We ordered four onigiri - two salmon, one beef bulgogi and one tuna. Again the ratio of rice to everything else was off (too much rice) and the tuna one was sour. We couldn't eat it. It's in the mall food court so there's plenty of seating. We tried the Ladera Ranch location before and liked the food. Our order was accurate so I'll give credit for that aspect. But for the price and disappointing experience, we won't be returning to this one. read more

So we all got what we wanted to eat at the food court tonight. My sister wanted to try OniGuru, a new poke place just popped up in the food court of Mission Viejo mall. She got a bowl and some rice balls. Not sure what flavor her husband and her got but they liked it. I was going to order something there at first, but when I approached the counter, the smell of raw fish discouraged me from ordering. It's been a while since I had Onigiri, there are not many places in Orange County. When I saw this cute place, I had to try it. I'm so glad I did! Yesterday for lunch, daughter was craving onigiri and wanted to try this place. I had some delicious onigiri at a farmer's market in Irvine and was excited to try Oniguru. The employee at the counter was very friendly and welcoming. My daughter had the teriyaki salmon rice bowl, which is essentially a giant onigiri. I ordered the teriyaki salmon and crab salad onigiri. I was very disappointed. The crab tasted like tuna salad and was very fishy and too salty. The teriyaki salmon was also too fishy and salty. None of it tasted fresh. I really did not like it and ate less than half. This morning, both my daughter and I had stomach problems. She's on her way to urgent care for stomach pain and I'm staying close to the restroom.
