I've never been to a Poke Bros, so I have nothing to compare this experience to...but it doesn't matter, because our experience here excellent! I am currently under medical care and my diet is limited, so there are very few places I can go where I can truly enjoy my meal. Poke Bros was PERFECT for both my dietary restrictions and my husbands lack of any! I was able to build my own bowl, beginning with a choice of bases: a variety of rices and quinoa. I choose sushi rice, as did my husband. A few of my toppings were $1 extra, but I was ok with that and the person making the bowl for me informed me each time I chose a topping that cost extra. My bowl was a delicious, fresh combination of sushi rice, arugula mix, seaweed salad, mango, avocado, roe, ponzu sauce and a sprinkling of tempura crunchies. My husband's bowl was sushi rice, seaweed salad, marinated tuna, roe, sesame seeds, and soy sauce. I like that the company prepares the ingredients in small batches, because it allowed for maximum freshness, too. The restaurant was very clean, the service was EXCELLENT, answering any questions and offering opinions when I asked, kindly guiding me through the process of ordering my bowl, and the food was fresh and delicious. It's a bit more expensive than fast food, but MUCH better tasting, healthier, and more flavorful and still less expensive than a sit-down service restaurant. The food is not bad. Lots of options for various types of protein, and it seems to be decent quality. The have a good variety of options for toppings as well. They could improve in 2 areas: 1. Price. It should be $1-$2 dollars cheaper. 2. Amount of food. They certainly could fill those bowls up a little more...especially for the price you pay! The food is quite tasty, however, at noon on a Saturday they had explicit lyrics playing nonstop. Completely inappropriate for a restaurant. Multiple families walked in to get lunch, including mine, and all the kids heard was curse after curse. N word, B word, F word, MF etc. Whoever chose the music for the day picked their explicit lyrics playlist without consideration of the customers. Not appropriate in a public restaurant. The food is not bad but, overall 1 star experience because of the crude music. We won't be returning. Definitely not with children. read more

Food is okay. Biggest issue is the price relative to portion size - $16 for one small scoop of protein in the bowl is just too much and not a filling meal. The skimpy portions - on the tuna/protein in particular is what will keep me from coming back. I understand costs are expensive but when the bowl is 90% rice, I'd rather just cook at home. The interior was spotlessly clean and brightly lit, so much so that we opted to dine in. We both chose the Build your Own Bowls which consisted of fresh tuna, salmon, and various additives. My first time trying this fabulous restaurant that offers the freshest ingredients for my Poke Bowl. It's easy to order and the staff are super helpful. Again, I decided to make up my own bowl. It's the better option if you want to watch protein carbs & fats. My base was mixed greens as they did not have the zucchini noodles, topped with delicious ahi tuna edamame ginger cucumber and my favorite ingredient seaweed with sesame seeds. They offer a ton of dressings of which several are mayonnaise based. I opted for the Ponzu and it did not disappoint. The whole bowl and it was large, was delicious. I sat at the window looking out into the street. The whole experience was great and I will definitely return. I'm so glad that we have a healthy option for lunch with the freshest of ingredients to choose from. Yummy poke bowls, big portions, kinda sketchy checkout? I got a spicy salmon bowl ($11.50) with double seaweed salad, which I figured wouldn't add more than $1 since every other special add on was $1. When I checked out, there was no breakdown of cost and no receipt given to me, but my total was almost $17 which is a lot to spend on a quick lunch pickup. The cashier was just like ok thanks bye with no explanation to the huge upcharge. I'm not sure why the total came out to that much and I was given no receipt or explanation but it's very sketchy to me so I'll probably just order online next time so I know exactly where my money is going. read more

This location is much larger with way more seating. There's minimal decor. It was clean. The employee who fixed my dish was nice enough but a little standoffish. You can choose from the signature bowls or build your own. It's a super simple concept--base, veggies, protein and toppings. I built my own with shrimp, brown rice, edamame, corn, cucumber, sweet soy and sesame seeds. The food was fresh and delicious. I'll be back if I'm in the area. read more

I am on a "clean" diet in order to get ready for my next marathon. I've been cooking a lot because it's so hard finding a place where I can actually eat out!! I love Poke Bros because I can eat out and not feel bad about it! The Shaka is my favorite - they give you a ton of fresh food for a steal! It's always super fast and the employees are very polite. I had a super long run the other day and stopped by here on the way home. Filled me up and I wasn't hungry again in an hour! I love stopping by Poke Brothers for lunch, and wish I could make it here more often. The inside is open, bright and has plenty of seating. The menu lists about 6 different Signature Poke bowls they have to order, or you can make your own. I am always overwhelmed with making my own, just too many options and never sure of the flavor combinations. So I usually rely on one of their menu bowls. But you order at the counter, work your way down and see all the options (if building your own). Poke Brothers always satisfies my poke crave and fills me up. I would give them less than one star if I could... we have been going to this restaurant for years now and tonight was our last chance. Their prices continue to rise (which I can understand with inflation) but their portions have gotten so significantly small -- it is no longer a meal. Their portions are ridiculously small and their customer service isn't great. Just don't waste your time or money. 2nd time having it, as an employee that eats there often bought it for me the first time. I had the High Tide both times. 2nd time around minus the corn and noticed the bowl was not as full as the first time. I watched as the bowl was made and assumed the scoops used was a measuring tool kind of like Verde does with salads. All was cool until we got to the proteins. I think she noticed she hadn't placed much chicken in the scoop so she added a second portion of chicken but still don't think it was a full scoop of chicken. Same for the shrimp, which she didn't fill the scoop or go back and add more. Hence the 4 star. The toppings are fresh and tasty, and I'm a fan of the flavors. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because of the young lady shorting the scoop sizes and it appeared to be on purpose. Don't mind paying for a good Poke Bowl, especially when the portions are adequate, but don't short change your customers. Also tried their Mochi ice cream and would definitely have it again. SO happy Poke Bros has opened in Belle Hall Shopping Center! It's on the busiest corner in Belle Hall and on a corner across from Starbucks. That being said, parking can be a challenge at this primary intersection in the shopping center, yet spaces frequently become available. I'm also a fan of the other poke spot in Mt Pleasant, but I prefer the ordering process at Poke Bros. Instead of 'pick 2', pick 3' choices, they have everything in front of you and pick whatever you want, however many toppings, then your bowl is priced accordingly. Ingredients are fresh, tasty (spicey chicken and marinated ahi!!!). Dressings are light and delicious. Service is fast and friendly. Lines move quickly. Unlike the North Charleston location, there is a much larger seating area at community tables inside, plus some seating outside. read more

I wanted to love this place. Not just like it, I wanted to LOVE it. See, I'm an Oahu girl, born there and lived there all my life until my husband's career moved us to Goose Creek, South Carolina (our second time here and we love it.) For us, seeing anything remotely Hawaiian is an exciting thing. It's the chance to have something we know from home. A few weeks ago, I was told about "a great Hawaiian poke place" by some of my neighbors who found out we are from Hawaii. I was excited but a little apprehensive; after all, we take our poke pretty seriously where I'm from. Places like Tanioka's and Tamura's oftentimes have lines for the poke counter out the door. Today I was in the area so I stopped by. I walked in and the place was clean and didn't have a fishy smell... so far so good. Then I saw the menu. There are SO MANY THINGS on this menu. Toppings and flavors and proteins, ingredients like pineapple and corn-- a little bit overwhelming. It's super confusing for a place that advertises itself as "FRESH FISH HAWAIIAN STYLE" to not be offering what Hawaiians or people from Hawaii would say is Hawaiian style-- I assure you we do not put pineapple or corn in our poke. The new pop up hipster type poke trucks might, but it's not the norm by any means. We eat poke (fish and some vegetables or limu, either plain, marinated in a mayo/wasabi, mayo/sriracha or a shoyu based sauce,) and rice... maybe you add in some extra shoyu The girl behind the counter was fantastic at helping me figure out what I was looking at and I "built" my bowl. Half white rice, half brown rice, tofu, masago, seaweed salad (it's often called wakame salad,) and marinated tuna (their take on ahi shoyu) and spicy tuna (their take on spicy ahi-- it's spicy but no spicy ahi sauce.) She recommended some sauces to go with it, so I added a wasabi aioli and their house soy sauce (which tasted similar to eel sauce.) I get my food, pay, and sit down. They had chopsticks, so I didn't need to pull out my own "just in case" pair. *sigh* The rice (both white and brown scoops) was hard. It also fell apart when I tried to pick it up. The fish wasn't the freshest, but is on par with what I have gotten at good sushi restaurants around town. The wakame salad was overly sweet and I did not finish that. The marinated fish was also very sweet, not what I'm used to. The wasabi aioli was fantastic and it made the fish much better. It's not bad. There is room for improvement, and it's not exactly "Hawaiian style." If you're from Hawaii or you've lived there and are used to poke bowls from home, this will satisfy the craving, but it's not the same. read more
