Single scoop poke bowl with salmon ($14.95)
    Amy Lauren S.

After some evening errands, I was craving a poke bowl but didn't want to brave rush hour traffic, so I tried Yoshi Poke. My husband has picked up food from here several times, and it's only a few miles from home. I ordered a single-scoop bowl with salmon, lots of toppings, and several dressings/sauces on the side. When ordering online, the only option is to build your own poke bowl, so if you've never had a poke bowl or want recommendations, you may want to go in person. My bowl was made correctly and promptly- it was ready when I arrived. I missed a few toppings from my original poke spot, and I didn't care for the white sauce. The poke dressing and sriracha aioli were good, though. If you don't want raw fish or poke, Yoshi Poke offers hibachi and appetizers. Parking is easy and convenient.

I was feeling like some raw fish, but wanted something different than my normal sushi rolls. This place has literally been up the street for a while now and we haven't tried it out yet. My husband wanted soup, but I opted for a bowl with D). Two scoops protein and then all the above! Lol! The bowl was packed, it was very fresh, and the flavor profiles were awesome! I got the spicy tuna and Salmon and the asked for the sauces on the side, because I wanted to try two different ones! I ended using both. Their wasabi sauce and their poke sauce. I wasn't a big fan of their rice though, I chose their sushi rice and it was a little too sweet for me, and then my sons fried rice had a weird smell to it, but he liked it, lol! I definitely have to say I was skeptical that I'd still be hungry and my appetite was large! The price was just shy of twenty five dollars for one bowl (double protein) and a side of fried rice and oh my goodness was it a ton of food! I would definitely try their other stuff just not the rice! But that is all total personal preference :)

I had the teriyaki bowl. It was really good. I only wish it had more chicken and more vegetable. I think the dinner was the same, but only included a salad and soup. The food came out quickly and the staff was very nice. I was not a fan of the white sauce.

So glad to have diverse types of foods and a poke place on this side of West Ashley. Friendly customer service. Easy to read menu. Build your own poke bowl. Cooked and raw options. Dine in or take out.

Checked out this new poke restaurant with my friend! I ordered poke bowl combo with tuna and salmon and the fish is so fresh! We'll definitely come back to try out more other options! Ohh the checken wings are so tasty! I love it!

Skimpy Salmon Bowl. This has almost every side in this bowl including sushi rice!

I'm not quite sure how this place gets 5 stars!! And charges extra for a bite of crab salad. Also skimps you on every side you can add to the bowl. Pretty Ridiculous. I would recommend poke bros any day over this place. Even if the fish is good doesn't make up for the quantity at the price you pay! Do not recommend and will not be returning.

Yoshi Poke & Kitchen on Ashley River Road in West Ashley is a great place to go for delicious and fresh bowls and much more. I really like the selection and variety that they have available here. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating to make sure that you have everything that you need. Good experience every time I have been here

I love poke. It's a guilty pleasure of mine. I like it spicy as possible. As most, I have a price limit. The quality of the food here is outstanding. It tasted fresh, clean, and flavorful. A lot of that is up to you when you order but I have mine prepared with flavors that zing! They made it quick and to my specific liking. It's location is fantastic in the neighborhood row of West Ashley on bee's Ferry. What held me back: price(it was expensive compared to its competitors), size(portions don't reflect price), and last thing was the protein I chose was icy cold( it's usually room temp not iceberg). They just opened to I plan to revisit and hopefully they change up some stuff but definitely enjoyed it and will be back!

I dropped by just because of the name since I just came back from Japan and learned what Maguro…read more(tuna) meant. The bar is hidden away in a parking lot where it is difficult to turn into from the other side of the road because of a barrier so you have to make a u turn up the road a little bit. The place itself is kind of small. I sat at the bar but I'm not sure why but it felt a little off. It didn't feel like a normal sushi bar where I felt like I was able to see the chef prepare the food I'm not sure if there was some kind of height disproportion or if the glass with food was blocking the way. The staff was friendly but there did seem to be some kind of miscommunication between the server and the chef when they were doing hand offs on top of the bar. It might be better to do food handoffs at the open corner to the side so the waitress didnt have to reach high and over customers although maybe it is different when it is busy since I was the only one at the bar. The food itself was delicious although I must admit I can't tell the difference between normal sushi. I would rate this as normal sushi. To put things in perspective bad sushi would have dried out rice or fish that tastes a bit off in a bad way. Amazing sushi would be something that just tastes so different but in a good way. Could be a cute casual date spot or even a friend group meet up spot. Keep in mind the space is limited but it shares the menu and space with Taste of Thai next door. I havent been into Taste of Thai yet so I can't talk about the spacing in there.

The Sushi was disappointing…read more At the last second the wife decided to go to Maguro Sushi Bar for her birthday instead of one downtown on East Bas she had been looking forward to, and I am sorry to say it was disappointing. The first thing of note are the prices which are very reasonable. In fact the nigiri was so low I had to confirm it was for 2 pieces and not just one The restaurant is smallish but comfortable. They also share a hallway with their sister restaurants a taste of Thai, and as i understand it, you can order from both restaurants, regardless of which one you are eating at Regarding the Sushi itself there was some good, but there was also some average, and some very bad. I will go from worst to best. We started buy getting two orders of Tobiko. They had an option of Red, Green and Black. We have never had Black Tobiko (infused with squid ink), so we ordered Green and Black. The waitress got it wrong and gave us Red instead of Block . We should have sent it back, but we do like the red so we kept it. BIG MISTAKE. Normally a red Tobiko has a slight smokey flavor, but this was so over the top I wasn't sure if it was unique flavor to this restaurant or bad fish eggs. The wife thought so little of it she spit it out. The Green wasn't bad, but we were already on a downhill slide Next was two Eel handrolls which we normally love. Mine was OK, but The wife's Eel looked, and she said tasted raw and so this was another dish she could not eat. Next on the not so great list was the Ginger. Something else we normally love, but this Ginger was an odd darker shade pink to Red and had an funny taste to it. The Rainbow Roll was not bad, but I personally never had it with Shrimp. I am assuming they use Shrimp to lower the cost, but my preference isn't to have Shrimp as one of my fishes on a Rainbow roll. The spider roll we order was decent, but could have used some Eel Sauce on it. We tried something new for us which was the Salmon Tempura Roll. This consisted of Salmon tempura, crab, cucumber, avocado, masago, teriyaki. Neither of us have had Salmon tempura so it was not only unique but very good. We both loved the light crunch of the tempura fired Salmon. It has been many years since we ordered salmon skin, so we got 2 hand rolls. This was the star of the night. The roll was loaded with wonderful crispy salmon skin with Masago, scallion, spicy mayo. The wife usually does not like spicy mayo, but in this case, it paired really nice with the crunch of the skin. So yea some good, some medium, and some really bad.
