    Make your own bowl
    Young K.

I don't really have much of an opinion because I have been to many "Make your own salad" places. I really liked my salad bowl. However, I didn't think there was enough. Usually, I get full from one whole bowl, but the amount was little so I ate half of my friend's bowl. The one thing I like to note is that it is right across from Gold's gym, so it is a good fresh meal to have after a hard workout. Overall 7.8 out of 10.

I absolutely love this option for healthy meals in the heart of Mount Pleasant. However, I've been multiple times and always order online without complete satisfaction. I have had ingredients like avocado you pay extra for left off and the "shake" or the way it is tossed together isn't so great. The dressing is pretty small for a large salad as well. If you are new and do a to go they do not include silverware and you may have to run back in to be told it is across from them on the wall. As in get your own. This location has great and fresh ingredients, but something is lacking especially in employee attitude.

    dry flavorless chicken.

I ordered Uber Eats and I'm never the type to complain but my order was completely wrong, I was so disappointed. I was missing half my toppings for my salad and the chicken was completely dry and flavorless. On top of that, I never received the cookie I had ordered either.

Ordering takeout online was easy enough; and convenience was definitely the goal on the evening I stopped by. My salad was just about finished when I arrived, and I watched the final steps of a painstakingly fresh assembly process. I customized with some premium ingredients, which gets expensive here really quickly. However, I have nothing negative to say about the result, which was robust and varied in flavor. I had bits of black bean burger, grapes, pecans, all over a variety of freshly chopped greens and quinoa. For a fast casual salad bowl place, the quality and selection of ingredients remains quite excellent. I could easily put together a completely different order that would still be great were I to visit again.

Verde never disappoints for a fast, healthy, flavorful meal. It's my go to spot for lunch on the days I don't pack lunch. For $10-15, you can choose from a large selection of curated salads, or build you own. Salad not your thing? No worries, they can make it into a wrap for you! They are also highly accommodating if you ask for substitutions or additions to a salad recipe. Lastly, I have to say that the staff is always incredibly kind and hustling. This is true for all of Verde's locations. I've never had a bad experience and will continue to come here for a healthy lunch-time treat.

I went here today for lunch and it was fun :). I eat salads for lunch a few times a week- it's really one of my staple lunches since I don't eat meat (except the occasional seafood)- so I guess I'm somewhat of a salad snob. Basically, Verde is a build-your-own-salad bar where someone else makes your salad. I like salad bars, but salads always seem to taste better when someone else makes them. If you don't want to build your own salad, you can have one of their menu creations- which is what I decided to do. I had a salad called the Farmer's Market. It's arugula, mesclun, spinach, sprouts, cucumbers, avocado, broccoli, hearts of palm, and sunflower seeds. I substituted the dressing to get fat-free raspberry vinaigrette. The avocado gave it a nice creamy texture without having a creamy dressing, and it was freshly scooped out in the restaurant in front of me- I liked that. I also got my salad chopped, and it was chopped with something that looked like a double pizza cutter. Two different parties in line asked where they could find that salad chopper- it is pretty cool. The salads also come with bread or you can get them as a wrap. The crew at Verde seemed to really enjoy what they were doing; they had a lot of energy and did a great job with the toppings-to-greens ratio that some restaurant salads get wrong. I did add a bit more dressing when I got home. The salad prices are about standard for lunch, ranging from $8-10, although if you build your own salad and add a LOT of toppings, I could see where it could get pricey.

I must say that Verde has some deliciously paired flavors and pre-selected options on their Signature Creations menu. If you find yourself there and indecisive then you can pretty safely choose Cobb on King (Turkey, Avo, Bacon, Egg, etc) or Mesa Verde (Chicken, Avo, Black Beans, Corn, Tortilla, etc) for consistently tasty combos that have been my two favorites. I recommend the wraps vs. bowls but I think you do get more leafy greens with the salad bowl if that's your preference. I do really love the concept and their menu offerings, but I just haven't been overwhelmingly impressed by the overall quality or price. Granted the serving sizes are large and plentiful for the price you do pay, the food itself is really at its best taste and texture when eaten right then and there vs packed to go which would realistically be the ideal option. I appreciate that they can cater more to the takeaways by not chopping your salad or putting the dressing on the side, but I've found that when I get it home and then cut/dress it myself it ends up being a salad I could have just made from grocery for less money. If I let them prepare it where I just open container and dig in then it has a tendency to have become soft, soggy greens with mushy toppings. Still okay to eat but just not the best by any stretch. Verde is a great place to stop in and eat a quick and healthy lunch. Their ingredients are real and simple and stored right there in front of you so there is no question about exactly what you are being served.

Not a restaurant but a fast food vegetarian chain, no bad for a quick grab and go for a fresh salad. Good variety of salads and make your own style, stylish and easy parking. Sitting outside and inside with AC.

Instead of cake, our group brought blueberry pies and vanilla ice cream, and the staff graciously took everything to the kitchen, sliced and plated the pie, added generous scoops of ice cream, and even placed birthday candles on each slice. Such a thoughtful touch that made the celebration extra special. The atmosphere along the water made it even better. Watching kayaks, paddle boards, and boats pass along Shem Creek while enjoying lunch was the perfect backdrop for a celebration. This has definitely become a new favorite spot for our group! I only noted a small parking area off a very busy street (at least mid-day on Memorial Day) that makes parking challenging. They do have several fans keepin it breezy on the patio, so I opted for that. Turns out I arrived at the "in-between" time (around 3:30): they only serve pizza between 3-4. I wasn't in the mood for pizza, so my server, Sarah, said she'd be back at 4 to take my order. Whelp! 4pm came and went and around 4:06 I asked a hostess to flag her. She appeared and went past my table right over to a couple she knew to spend a minute with them. When she came over to the table there was no, "Hey I'm sorry I was late getting back." Just, "Is it 4 o'clock yet?" Oops it's 4:09!" It wasn't that she was a few minutes late; it was that she went to say hello to friends before she came over to take my order and when she got there, she was very snarky. Guess customer service isn't everyone's thing. The Rigatoni with sausage and fennel ragu came out soon and it was tasty- I thought maybe it would have too much fennel, but not so. Sarah checked on all of the tables around me, but didn't so much as glance my way for about 40 min. The food was fine, but there are too many other options to put up with this kind of service. I won't be back.

We ordered the "Diver Scallops" and the "Grilled Swordfish," both of which were absolutely delicious. Paired well with the fish and succutash. The soup was creamy, silky, and full of flavor from cauliflower. The pistachio added some crunchiness to it. The taste of "green apple" was not obvious; in fact I was expecting there to be some apple slices, which could add extra texture and sourness to this rich soup. I also asked for a side of sourdough. A bit too salty for me. The service was kinda slow, except that food came out in reasonable amoutn of time **after I placed the order**, that is, I waited quite a while to order my food.
